Actually Exp. Share is given by the aide in Cliff Edge Gate; I think you need 30 mons to get it from him though.

One question: who is the trainer on Thursday that can be battled on Thursdays at the Dojo that isn't Bugsy or Morty? I've already defeated Green, by the way.

A few more things that caught my attention:
    1. Bugsy uses a regular potion during the rematch battle.
    2. NPC in Goldenrod 4F still states that Slowbro can evolve while holding an item.
    3. The scientist that escorts you to the cave after capturing all Unown forms can sometimes "climb" the cave (however, he returns to the lab just fine).
    4. Using the Item Finder in the Silence Bridge gate will temporarily cause certain NPCs in Lavender Town, Route 10 and Route 8 to become palette-swapped versions of the player character.

I can provide screenshots for 4 and 5.

Can't wait until v3.0 is released!

There are a few (little) errors in the README from the source code, especially in the "Changes in 3.0.0" section:

Any ETA on V.3.0.0? Looking forward to it! All the changes you've made are fantastic!

Maybe in December, very likely by January.

    Correct.

    Thanks!

    1. I don't want to create separate trainer classes just for the Leader rematches, so I may just give Bugsy a Hyper Potion even for the first battle.
    2. Right, that should say Slowpoke.
    3. I'll try and reproduce this; please do post your screenshot.
    4. This was already fixed by splitting Route 12 into two maps. The ItemFinder is a coincidence.

    Spoiler:

The readme right now is a disorganized list of every little change. I'll revise it all for the 3.0 release.

    Yes, indeed.

    Also, a couple more things:
    1. Having more than $1M causes the first cash digit to glitch.
    2. Defeating the Tower Tycoon (for the first time with level 10 mons) is rewarded with... 5 x HM05s!?
Ninjaedit: defeating him for the second time awarded me with 5 amazing -wait for it- Tiny Mushrooms!?
Ninjaedit2: third time got me 5 X-Defends? ...what's with the crappy rewards (for this tier, at least)?

    1. I've been playtesting with $9,999,999 and there are no glitches. Try compiling the latest code and check whichever money display has this bug.
    2. Those should have been vitamins, but rewards have been replaced with Battle Points in 3.0.

Here's a stitched map of Kanto. Johto still has some areas to add.

    Pokémon Polished Crystal (update 2.2.0)

In HGSS after winning the phone call rematches you get vitamins as a reward (some info here). You should add that to the game too.

I'm planning to add the stat trainers from D/P/Pt in this role.

How big is Polished Crystal Kanto compared to vanilla gen 1 (red and green) and gen 2 (gold, silver, crystal)?

Well, I just posted this region map. :)

    • Restored from Gen 1: Viridian Forest, Safari Zone, Cerulean Cave, Pewter Museum, Pokémon Mansion (and in 3.0, Mt. Moon and Route 23)
    • Added from Gen 4: Seafoam Islands
    • Original: Cinnabar Volcano, Rock Tunnel 2F, and some other places (even more in 3.0)

Some routes and towns have been expanded, so they're in-between the Gen 1 and 2 sizes. Frankly, though, Gen 1's maps had lots of plain rectangular areas that I don't feel the need to copy. Just compare the way Kanto and Johto maps are laid out.

Honestly, one of the things about this hack that I've liked was you putting in some of the pokewalker places as actual areas we could visit. I was pretty happy when I went to Yellow Forest.

I can't wait to see more of them. They're new areas to explore, and more places to flesh out this world here, and that's something I've really liked about this hack so far.

That and a not completely anemic Kanto is also nice. There's actually a little bit of meat on those bones, and that makes me happy.

Pokémon Centers have a more modern appearance, combining tiles devamped from FR/LG by Mateo and HG/SS by me. Other maps are in progress.

No, 3.0 will have major changes that break saves. Not sure when it'll be out.

Thanks! I hope the new maps' design will do them justice.

I like the new route 17. It actually looks like a bridge.
Also, how are you going to add route 23? Between the badge checker and the Victory Road?

Exactly. The gatehouse connecting Route 22, Route 26, Route 28, and Victory Road is just an upgrade of the original gatehouse in RBY. For the overworld maps to all tile properly, Route 23 ought to still be there, otherwise Indigo Plateau would be too far south.

I'm actually working on it now:

    Pokémon Polished Crystal (update 2.2.0)

(Yes, Kanto has the old RBY trees and flowers, plus the new FRLG statues. I think they go well together and can remind players of both generations.)

I'm kinda holding off on playing this till 3.0.0. I've played it a little in it's current state and I absolutely loved it.

My only suggestion is possible either adding another text speed option called "Instant" or something to that nature, or changing the Fast text speed to be... well, faster. (I hate the progressive text and would much prefer an instant text appearance)

Also, are the PCs going to be different between Johto and Kanto?

Afterthought Edit: It'd be cool if you added the Orange Island. I've been DYING for a play-through of them. Just a thought. I know this is a "stay-true-to-the-original-ish" type hack, but it'd be cool to have all the features in this hack included in another region all together

I don't know just how long 3.0 will be, but if you play 2.2.0, I think 3.0 will feel like a whole new game. :)

I tried instant text originally, but it made some lines not appear at all—text that auto-scrolls, like certain important messages in battle, would just be overwritten. I'll reconsider it, though; maybe that's fixable, or I can just warn players about it.

Still playing around with which tiles to change. I think Pokémon Centers will have the same layout in both regions, since they did in GSC and HGSS.

    Edit:

Yes it would. I'm not prepared to invent a whole region worth of content, but Mateo's planning to eventually include the Orange Islands in Red++ (I think), so since that's in the same universe as Polished Crystal we could probably cooperate on that. But that's a long way away; both Red++ and Polished Crystal have 3.0 versions in development focusing more on implementation changes than on new content.
