Hey there.
I've been playing some of the Emerald hacks on this forum, and this one stood out the most. It's wonderfully done and I really enjoy the new sprites, the new moves and especially all the new Pokemon.
There are some issues left, though, like the Physical/Special split not always working correctly - my Elekid's Swift was terribly weak no matter what. Also, the issue with the Shiny Stone, which was brought up above, also happens for me. The game crashes when I try to view it in the bag in the field and freezes when I view it in a Pokemon Center or through the Deposit Item menu. Since it's at the bottom of the Bag, I haven't been able to check whether the same happens with the Dawn and Dusk Stones.
There's also a little bit of polish missing. As pointed out above, there are NPCs who mention that TMs are single-use, like the Cutter in Rustboro and the NPC who gives you the Bullet Seed TM. The FAIRY type rectangle could also use a slightly darker shade for the secondary color - it looks a little pale to me. When you finish battling the on-field Pokemon, the fade to black animation plays out and finishes before the Pokemon's sprite vanishes. The same doesn't happen for the Sinnoh starters, who are in Pokeballs like items. At the end of the low road to Mauville from Slateport, there is an NPC who gives you an egg, but he should be saying "any more" rather than "anymore" and there needs to be a comma before the word "deposit". Lastly, Wally in front of the Mauville Gym says he's grown strong with his Ralts, when he actually fields a Kirlia. But those are all minor things, it's mostly the Shiny Stone that BUGS me. Ha.
I have to say, though, I've played up to Wattson so far and the hack is really amazing, especially when it comes to the sheer variety of Pokemon. I'm really happy how you can pick from a large variety of Pokemon early on and raise whatever you like from an early level. The decision to put an Old Rod NPC on Route 103 was also very, very solid. I hope you can eventually add full Pokedex entries for the Sinnoh Pokemon. Maybe you could consider giving the player a national Pokedex from early on, so that we can check the locations of Sinnoh Pokemon on the map?
In any case, thank you for this amazing hack, and I hope you can find the time to address these concerns. Keep on being great.
