    • Considering there is NO thread with THIS challenge, I decided to set it up!​



    Pokemon R/B/Y Solo Run Challenge​


    Basically, in this challenge you need to FULLY complete the whole R/B/Y storyline this is from the START of the game, to the END of the game when you defeat the champion
    (Your Rival)​

    The rules are like many other solo run challenges;​






    Rules
    • You must complete the challenge with ONE pokemon only​
    • You CAN cheat or hack to get your pokemon (As there is not that many pokemon to catch, however if you feel that you shoudnt be able to cheat, let me know)​
    • It is advised not to use legenderies as it takes the fun away​
    • You ARE allowed to evolve the pokemon you use​
    • You can use the same pokemon as other people​
    • You can use Pokemon as HM slaves but you CANNOT use them to battle​
    • Update your progress regularly​
    • Emulators ARE allowed​
    • You are advised not to rush this, as it is not a race and should be fun.​
    • You MUST have your desired pokemon you board the SS. Anne​
    • Most importantly, Have fun!​

    • I'm going to take this on real fast in honor of me finally being done with school!

    Name: A
    Runner: Staryu/Starmie
    Game: Red

    Update starting now.

    Named myself A, rival LOZER, got Potion and SLAVE ONE (bulbasaur).
    Got the second potion and oak's parcel, which I returned to him for a Pokedex.
    Got the third hidden potion and 2 Pokeballs, which I used to catch ORION (my staryu) and a Pidgey, named SLAVE TWO.
    Grinded Staryu all the way to level 17 so he could learn Water Gun.
    Took out LOZER, and then everyone in the forest.
    Took out Brock's Gym.
    Rushed through Mt. Moon, running out of water guns on the last trainer.
    Saved and quit because its 4:45 AM

    • I think cheating should definitely be allowed to get your starter. Otherwise, you are either limited to a few starters from the beginning of the game, or you end up playing a bunch of the game with the Pokemon you aren't using, and it makes it easier (like if you're using an electric type for your solo runner, and you use bulbasaur for brock's gym. that's not fair)

    • This is a neat idea, and I think cheating should be allowed to an extent, to get Pokemon that were only available at events and stuff like that.

    • I want to sign up with Aerodactyl on Yellow, but how would I go about doing that?
    I'm using the VBA by the way, its an emulator. Is there some kind of code you can put into it?

    On VBA, Goto the 'Cheats' tab at the top next to options I think it is, then click Gameshark, and add the code 01ABD8CF
    It Should be Aerodactyl.

    • Ok, update 1:


    • Started the game, named myself MonoAce, and my rival Failure
    • Beat Failure with Pikachu, leveled up to 6
    • Went to Viridian, collected Oak's Parcel
    • Delivered parcel, Oak gave me and Failure Pokedexs.
    • Activated encounter cheat after buying some pokeballs, caught my Aerodactyl at level 5. Nicknamed it Terradon.
    • Got through Viridian Forest, levelling Aerodactyl up to 13
    • Beat Brock.
    Thats what I'm up to so far! :)
