Is there any real theme to how these sprites are meant to look? None of the current sprites match any real styles because they're either too large or use too many colours compared to Game Boy Colour ones.

Nah, there are just supposed to be devamped under 5-4 colours even though it might be too much for Gameboy.

Ok, I'll add them to the first post. Yes you do, Cheeswig. clacla$$$ it still looks like a R/S/E sprite. Do another one, first look up a tut, save in png and you're done!

You do realize there is a major difference between a and a re-colour, right? Every single one of these is a recolour.

You think people won't notice the massive detail issues with those?

By just replacing whole groups of colour with ones taken from a set of four colours you've lost so much of the fine detail in the sprite they come off as something you'd see in a bootleg game for the NES or Game Boy.

Regardless of whether you see them as "devmaps" or not they're very quickly, and as a result, poorly made. If you want to make something decent you need to take more care in reducing colours by hand and making sure as much detail as possible can be kept in one way or another.

Er... I know someone did, like, everything, but I did the Kanto starters/evos. o3o I'm not sure if you need them, but... Here. They took a while to recolor. :p
