3) You're theory is somewhat faulty and would require extensive scripting because every Pokemon would have to be scripted to use the HMs they can learn and not be able to use them all. Example, you beat Roxanne and are now able to use Cut, so you go to a Cut tree and now it says your Magikarp can use Cut, oops, that shouldn't happen.

Not that extensive, I think. All you need is a list of pokémon that can use each HM move, and rather than searching your party pokémon for the move Cut, you just see if you have one of the pokémon on that list.

I've done exactly this in my game for Fly, which is now an innate ability of a number of Flying pokémon and a few others, and it's only a few lines of coding (not counting the list).

New Idea: I had this thought that the player should be able to get Treeko, Torchic, and Mudkip throughout the game (One from your rival, one from Prof. Birch, and the final from Steven). So, you're starter Pokemon will be........Union!

Who's Union? : Union is a Pokemon I thought of while doodling. He's bascially a small, plain white reptile with an oblong head and baby-raptor body. He has no flashy features and is Normal-type. So why would he be your starter? Because Union has the ability to evolve into one of three Pokemon that follow the standard Grass, Fire, Water starter pattern. Depending on which stat is higher when it reaches level 20, it'll evolve into one of three Pokemon who each have their own evolution.

Union:
ATK higher than SPD and DEF= Grelk, Grass-Type, based on elk
SPD higher than DEF and ATK= Pyrix, Fire-Type, based on raptor
DEF high than ATK and SPD= Tortice, Water/Ice-Type, based on grand tortise

I like I like I like ;) Its good because, you get your first PKMN and then there is a gym (goldenrod) that you cant beat caus you cant get a certain PKMN to battle the gyms pokemon ;)
