Unless you want the gym leaders to have duplicate pokemon, they are kinda limited to about 4 pokemon each. They fairly distrubuted the types this time around.

In some of the older games elite 4 they had duplicate pokemon and I am sure in some of the older games the gym leaders also had duplicates so I don't see why they can't in this one too

That electric gym leader has too Emonga's, so your statement is false :x and there are more than ebough new pokemon for the gym leaders to have pokemon 5 each! The electric lady could have an Emonga, the Zebra, Denchura, Maggyo and the electric laprey (first evo). 5.

So yeah I was really disappointed that the gym have so little pokemon.

One reason she doesnt have all of those Pokemon is because they havn't been or wont be seen until much later in the game.

I haven't played the game, but it is only the lamprey that is encountered later in the game by my understanding.

    Another Pro I discovered:

Tabunne training is surprisingly easy. Just buy a few repels, and you're set.

    A Con I hate:

You can't get Monozu until you beat all the Gym Leaders. WTH? Meraruba can be captured after the 6th, but I have to beat all the Gym Leaders just to get Monozu? Seriously, Nintendo/Gamefreak?

That may be true, but the electric leader is the fourth and up to that point the only electric types found are Shimama and Emonga (and Emonga is even a route later but can be accesed before battling her).

I'm adding to this: You don't even have to buy repels; running near but outside the grass will make it shake too.

    Pros:
Great scenery, nicely leveled wild pokemon, free monkey, tons of rival battles, unique storyline & Isshu is GORGEOUS! (yes i said that twice :P)

Cons: Grass Starters horrible moveset& horrible TM selection, the lack of Dragon Pulse & Dark Pulse as TMs, the HORRIBLE TMs, the Terrible Accuracy of alot of the new moves (Grass Mixer misses more than it hits at 90accuracy seriously???), lack of new attack moves for certain types, terrible Egg movesets, the Fire beginner enough said, lack of the lil realistic noises in HG/SS when near water, exc. , the lack of storyline for the dark trio or whatever their called, the extremely high levels for evolution, the[S-HIGHLIGHT] Fire/Bug egg isnt received til AFTER the E4[/S-HIGHLIGHT] (WTF!? that only gives me 1good fire type, the ghost/fire type),
& lastly they still havent learned to give pokemon a simultaneous release across the world, why not just give a language option?
    like this:
    Continue
    New Game
    WI-FI
    Battle Now
    Mystery Gift
    Options
    [Insert things i forgot]
Language (select this& choose your language, then everyones happy)

If the new Fire/Bug Pokemon isn't received until after the Elite 4, couldn't Mamenbou have been available afterwards as well to make it a Luvdisc evo or something? :\ The apparent disconnect between Luvdisc and Mamenbou was a major con for me... (and I recently browsed a Pokemon article on the Ugo (?) website that even said Mamenbou was Luvdisc's evo, but I believe that was based on very preliminary BW pre-release information...)

The point is, she still had a double up of the same pokemon so your first point is invalid!

chillax, he wasnt the one that made the point.

i really hate the high level evolutions. i need to get jiheddo to level 64 just to evolve. wtf? even komatana takes ages, which needs level 52.

I really like how the badges aren't just circles anymore.

I really wish there were more version differences. I was hoping for Shaga to have a different team than Iris.

Two nice pros I just discovered...

    1. Shoal Salt and Shoal Shells being present in the games (according to TVTropes at least)!!! Originated in Hoenn... Since you can't migrate items from DPPt/HGSS, what would be the point of coding them? (aside from having Shell Bell return to Generation 5). RSE remakes, here we come! (hopefully) :D

    2. BW using this particular piece of Fridge Brillance :D:
    Troper From TVTropes said:
The creators stated that the three starters each based on a different part of the world: Japan, China, and the West (specifically, France). Now, counting the version mascots (and assuming that Kyurem will be the third version mascot), we also have three legendary trios. What are they each based on? Japanese gods, the Chinese concept of Yin and Yang, and the French novel The Three Musketeers.

I hated how easy the Elite Four were the first time around.
All of their pokemon were two-typed, so it made sweeping easier. If they only had one type, I would definitely have lost against the psychic, and fighting ones.

Whoa...I just noticed that sprite/gender differences seem to be absent, from what I've seen. I guess I'm indifferent about its removal; there are several features IMO that take precedence over it and need to return in the third version! (i.e., Follow-Me overworld feature, HGSS-style Pokedex, etc.) Though the sprite difference alterations did make the Pokemon seem slightly more realistic, aside from being differentiated only by a gender icon...

I actually suprisingly really like most of it. The pokemon arent half bad if you give them a chance and the plot and graphics are amazing.

only thing to change would be pokemon following you :( although they might in pokemon grey :)

I finished the game and there is nothing I dislike.
Except that when you catch Reshiram/Zekrom and if you lose to N or Geechisu, you have to catch it again.

So much negativity for a pro/con thread. Unfasten your nostalgia goggles people, they're on too tight, especially for those of you complaining about pokemon just being bigger versions of their prevos. Do y'all hate electrode too?

I can only go on what I've seen on various so far but there's actually a lot I like from what I've seen.

1 An abundance of ghost types. There are still less ghosts than anything but they're making progress.

2 Some new type combinations. Some really awesome ones actually, especially some nice ones combined with ghost.

3 A pure flying type. Only took five generations for something so simple.

    4 A female electric specialist. :3 She's cute too.

    5 Contests are gooooone.

6 A regional dex without pikachu. They told me not to hold my breath, said it would never happen. *happy tears*

7 The dream world. It looks like an awesome concept, it can give pokemon abilities they couldn't otherwise have, and helps you find pokemon not in the game.

8 Branching off of that, starters being able to have something besides the default abilities that they always have.

9 The monkeys. I'm not usually a big fan of monkeys but these guys are adorable, as are their evolutions.

10 Creative new gym ideas. Different gym leaders depending on type in the first gym and different leaders depending on the game in question in the last gym. Also the fire type guy in the first gym is kind of cute. ;)

11 Fighting type legendaries. I was starting to think it was never going to happen.

    Things I don't like

1 Not being able to transfer items. It's going to be harder to earn back the things I earned in the battle frontier seeing as the subway looks a lot like the tower which is the most boring facility.

2 The trio that all look a like. I'll admit, that bothers me.

3 The fact that the ability that boosts attack when hit by a dark type attack is had mostly by things that resist dark type moves. You know, things that no one will use dark type attacks on to begin with.

4 The fact that they made a non-legendary event only. I mean, it's better in a way because people can breed them and trade them to others who don't have them but I really find events irritating in general so...

5 The continuation of version exclusive legendaries. No it's not new but it's irriated me since they started doing it.

6 The bug type specialist is male again. Girls can like bugs too. *hugs caterpie*

7 Bacon. I'm still mad that pig is not a bunny like I thought it was in the silloute but fire/fighting for a third generation... well I did not like it happening a second time in a row really.

8 Tripple battles. I don't even like double battles.

YES YES YES YES YES. Our lists are identical. You gets a cookie.

The only thing I legitimately don't like, is that I have to wait another 6 months to play them. Ok that and the fighting trio is ugly, but hey. That's it. Yes, these games are that amazing.

Hrm another con... I just beat the elite 4 etc and OMG the level jump is huge!!! from lv 50 straight up to 64 and above! Ok now the game is actually hard! I'm struggling to train my new team because I didn't realise how huge the level gap would be!

Really, normally they start levelling up after you beat the E4 a certain number of times. Although It is still excellent training because your lower level pokemon would get a heap of EXP beating the higher level pokemon.
