Basically a Swampert with Surf, Earthquake, and Icebeam can tackle almost anyone in-game. With Starmie and Pelipper, it'll be total hells yeah! Probably one of the easier types to take on the game, but hey, I ain't a great trainer just yet.

Unfortunately, I can't post URL images until I've posted 15 times or more... so no pretty pics! :-(

1. Started with Mudkip, of course. Caught Wingull soon after.

2. Roxanne was easy, predictably.

3. Caught Zigzagoon to be my temporary HM Slave, and will catch Abra to be the Flash/Teleporter. Will dump both later for Tropius, as a HM Slave.

4. The fighting gym, with Wing Attack, also was a piece of cake.

5. Did a spot of fishing, added Magikarp and Tentacool to my party.

Yay! Welcome to the challenge, and nice start! I'll update the first post!

Also... I just decided that I'm going to try a monotype challenge on Emerald. But I need suggestions on the type I should do. Ideas, anyone? Thanks!

Do Bug. Easily the most difficult. You'll have like Dustox, Beautifly, Illumise, Volbeat, and....that's all I can think of.

I REALLY want to do this. But I'm FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER playing a third gen game right now. After I beat it here in a few days I'll start. Unaware of what Pokemon type would be best, since I don't know these games, I'll be dangerous and go ahead and pick.... Hmmmm.... Normal!(:

Alrighty, quick update before I have to dash to work.

1. Arrived in Slateport, cleared out the Sea Museum with no problem.

2. Did the Trick Master's house, got a rare candy. Decided to sell all the stuff I didn't need.

3. Battling trainers, getting lots of exp.

4. Mudkip evolved into Marshtomp!

5. Rival battle was very easy. Mud Shot to take out Numel, Wingull's Wing Attack knocked out Grovyle in one hit, and Wailmer was down in a few hits.

6. Wally also met an unfortunate end at the might of Marshtomp's Mudshot.

7. Some more trainers, more exp.

8. Electricty gym was simple, just shot mud into all their faces.

9. Magikarp evolved into Gyarados!

10. Taught Shock Wave to Wingull.

Got to Rustboro (skipping all the trainers between the woods and city) and caught my first actual member (sorta): Shell1 the Nincada!
TRASH evolved whilst grinding Shell1
Beat Roxanne
Saved the Devon Guy again
Went to the Dewford Cave thing
Caught my second member: Specter the Sableye after killing a Sableye with much better stats on accident.
What's that Brawly's gym? The only move that can hurt Specter is Makuhita's Knock Off? Aww, too bad. Got Knuckle Badge
Defeated everyone on the beach on the way to Slateport
Delivered Capt. Stern the goods, beat 2 Aquas, bought some Harbor Mail
Went back to Rustboro to get the Exp. Share for Nincada
Beat May and got itemfinder to end the day.

Team: Sableye (right now the only one that I'm using), Nincada (has Exp. share. 6 more levels until he hatches)

I need to get my Shedinja before Wattson, because then there's another gym that i'm immune to...
HM Slaves: Zigzagoon (just a temporary slave until I get the ones I need)

EDIT: I am the champion!

Sidney went down with Sky Uppercuts from Mushroom.

Phoebe was little harder, but Hula Hula 2HKOed everyone but Sableye with Surf.

Glacia was easy: Sky Uppercuts again from Mushroom to Glailies, and Petal Dances from Strawberry to rest.

Drake was my ultimate challenge. Shelgon went down from Mushroom's Headbutt. Flygon died to Hula Hula's Surf. Altaria took 10 revives. Salamence OHKOed everybody, but after 20 revives Gekko killed it. Kingdra died easily.

Wallace was quite easy. Walrein died after 2 hits from Strawberry's Petal Dance. Milotic was harder, but Mushroom killed it after couple revives. Rest were easy.

And final team:

So, just another quick update before I call it a day.

1. Spent a fair bit of time training my pokemon. Decided to dump Tentacool, as it was getting annoying (I've never been a fan anyway, and with Starmie and Wailord, my party would be fine without).

2. Flannery was easy, as one might expect, being a fire gym and all. Completed all the kerpuffle with Team Magma.

3. Went and visited Daddyo, beat the trainers in the gym easily enough, but I had to go and train for a bit longer before I could beat Norman. Eventually I did.

4. Taught Surf to everyone.

Went to Mt. Pyre. Got this guy. Beat up Team Magma.

Beat up Team Magma in their Hideout.

Got Medicham.

Went to Mossdeep and got Dive (which I need because I need a water stone).

Grinding my Pokemon a bit before I fight the Psychic gym.
