Yes, the Effort Values will help its stats reach the maximum value, thus you will find it performs better in battles.

Yes Evs still matter in the frontier.

    Raikou:
    Calm Mind
    ThunderBolt
    Shadow Ball
    Hidden Power Fight/Grass

HP Fight or grass has better coverage.

    Lucario:
    Swords dance
    Extreme Speed
    Close Combat
    Bullet Punch / Crunch

    Weavile:
    Night Slash
    Ice Shard
    Low Kick
    Swords Dance

Low Kick > X-Scissor or you're totally mauled by steels.

Walerin: (Ability needs to be Ice Body)
    Toxic
    Substitute
    Protect
    Blizzard

    Abomasnow: (Needs Hasty/Naive Nature)
    Blizzard
    Wood Hammer
    Earthquake
    Focus punch/ Focus Blast

    Abomasnow @ Choice Scarf
    Trait : Snow Warning
    Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
    Evs: 12 Atk / 244 SAtk / 252 Spd
    - Grass Knot
    - Blizzard
    - Hidden Power [Fire]
    - Earthquake

    Abomasnow @ Leftovers
    Trait : Snow Warning
    Sassy Nature (+SpD, -Spd)
    Evs: 248 Hp / 8 Def / 252 SpD
    - Leech Seed
    - Substitute
    - Blizzard
    - Focus Punch / Wood Hammer / Giga Drain / Protect

Those sets are your best bet, my friend. c:

    Comments in bold lol.

  • Breeding related opinions

Have bred for HGSS Hippopotas, egg moved. Results:

    male Hippopotas (two)
    -revenge
    -slack off
    -curse/stockpile
    -stealth rock

just wondering what sort of "Revenge Hippowdon" to consider out of this. Have used Curse/Revenge/Slack Off to decent success on PO's server. Am uncertain of fourth moveslot as well as whether to give different EV's, nature, and final moveslot option when I also enjoy the idea of Stockpile and Revenge.

    Advice appreciated.

  • How would I want to go about making these pokemon I like, into a viable team:

Dragonite, Kingdra, Umbreon, Kabutops, Espeon, Gardevoir, Arcanine, Crobat, Victreebel, Cradily
(favorite pokemon, any six of these would be great, but love other pokemon as well :P)

My current team setup is like this:

    Heracross: 324 HP
    Attack 280
    defense 201
    sp attack 118
    sp defense 246
    speed 205
megahorn, close combat, brick break, aerial ace

    kingdra: 290 HP
    Attack 222
    defense 220
    sp attack 216
    sp defense 272
    speed 203
surf, brine, dragon pulse, ice beam

    Houndoom: 295 HP
    Attack 215
    defense 151
    sp attack 246
    sp defense 209
    speed 245
crunch, faint attack, flamethrower, shadow ball

    Venusaur: 310HP
    Attack 199
    defense 221
    sp attack 236
    sp defense 237
    speed 183
solar beam, sludge bomb, earthquake, sunny day

    Raichu: 257HP
    Attack 221
    defense 153
    sp attack 226
    sp defense 221
    speed 250
thunderbolt, iron tail, dig, quick attack

    Dragonite: 331HP
    Attack 312
    defense 250
    sp attack 209
    sp defense 232
    speed 237
    Outrage, Fly, Waterfall, Fire Punch

I never set up a strategy and just chose pokemon that covered a wide element type, using them all as hitters, so don't exactly have a set strategy. XD Sorry if this is not enough info and such, just trying to get a good grasp of an actual competitive team I never trained them based on IV/EV for I really just have no idea on how to go about doing so whatsoever. This is a repost since I really hadn't gotten any advice, sorry about that.

Kingdra, Venusaur and Raichu are a must to keep.
Kingdra practically owns with only Dragon weakness. Raichu could be a type-covering person but it's up to you to switch.
Espeon would be a great choice, if you're doing WiFi battling, as it's good at Baton Passing. Teach it Psychic, Substitute, Baton Pass and Calm Mind. In the battle, the first move will be Substitute, then keep going for Calm Minds and when your Sp. Atk and Sp. Def are maxed, Baton Pass to a Special Attacker on your team and the rest is up to you to decide how to sweep to victory.
Arcanine excels with Extremespeed. Houdoom can be a cover for Espeon's weakness to Psychic and Ghost. If you're in need for defensive walls, Cradily is the best for you. Or just stick to Heracross for offense. Hope I help! :)

Earthquake > Revenge. Revenge sucks honestly and EQ gets STAB.

Toxic or Roar > SR with Stockpile. SR doesn't fit on that set. Use Stone Edge if you use Curse.

  • Okay, so are their movesets good or should I switch them up? If I use kingdra, raichu, cenusaur, arcanine, and espeon, what kind of Pokemon would I want the sixth slot to go to?

  • I have no idea how to do damage calcs, so I'm wondering if someone can help me with a strange question.

I'm wondering how much an Adamant Dewgong holding a Choice Band using Aqua Jet would do to a Hasty Heatran, and also how much that same Dewgon's Ice Shard would do to Jolly Gliscor.

    Thanks! :D

    Aqua Jet Vs Heatran : 47.1% - 56.3%

    Ice Shard Vs Gliscor : 67.8% - 81.4%

Thank you very much. Those are pretty good numbers, especially if I have some form of entry hazards down.

After all, who's going to see an adamant, choiced Dewgong coming?

  • Ok, I just wanted to ask what do you think about a physical Celebi. I looked at smogon and couldn't find a set.
I thought about swords dance, seed bomb, zen headbutt and recover/u-turn with jolly nature...
