    So if my name is changed in the middle of the night and i log in the next day and I don't know my name has been changed then would it still let you log in with the old username?

    You won't, but I don't reckon that would be a problem, since you know what name your account has been changed to :p

    You already changed your username only some weeks ago. You have to wait 4 months between username changes, it says so right in the rules if you read them.
