    SAVING CELEBI

    Sign-ups are closed.

Most people believe pokémon to be wild, without order or intelligence. They couldn't be further from the truth. Pokémon may not be building concrete houses, drive cars or play games on laptop computers. But that's because they are too intelligent to do so. They care about the important things in life instead. Like living healthy and with the ones you love.

    - - -

    Somewhere
in the jungle south of the human city of Fortree, a pokémon was racing. She was hunted, not for food but for pure joy. At least for her hunter. A human wanted to capture her. That had never happened before! Celebi didn't belong in Hoenn. Normally she lived in Johto, where humans respected her and her powers. But here, a human scientist had somehow managed to build a machine that sought out and disturbed the energy Celebi was using to travel through time and space. That dragged her from Johto to Hoenn. Unfortunately for him, the machine was destroyed in the process, but the scientist still got a lot of attention and praise as he proclaimed that Celebi was now up for grasp by any trainer who believed themselves worthy... and so the hunt began.

Celebi managed to escape this time. But what about next time? She needed help. Across Hoenn, small pokémon villages existed, unknown to humans. One was in this jungle so she sought it out and begged for the pokémon there to help her. After a while, they agreed on protecting her, either by kindness of by order from the oldest and wisest pokémon there, a Tropius called Torpanico. So Celebi got a new home in the pokémon village and humans were confounded by the sudden aggressiveness the pokémon from the jungle showed. This was because they were all trying to chase humans away from where Celebi was.

Weeks passed by but Celebi couldn't find happiness there. Being connected by her soul to Johto and Ilex forest, she couldn't live here in peace. She needed to get her powers back. And she thought she knew of a way. If some of the legendary pokémon of Hoenn lent her some of their power, she'd be able to power up, find the scientist and punish him and then travel back to her beloved Johto home. As it was now, she couldn't really do anything at all. And there were some problems with the quest... she couldn't leave the jungle. Some other pokémon had to undergo the quest in her place. And the legendaries might need convincing...

    - - -

You are one of the pokémon that decide to help Celebi. Your mission is to seek out the legendaries and get them to infuse you with their power, then go back to the jungle and give it to Celebi. But be careful on the way. There are many pokémon who don't care about helping the pokémon from Johto and maybe won't let you pass through their territories. And there are humans everywhere who might try to capture you. The roleplay ends when Celebi has gotten enough power, which depends on the activity of the roleplay.

You have to be one of the following species:

    Oddish - Gloom - Seedot - Nuzleaf - Lotad - Lombre - Absol - Zigzagoon - Linoone - Kecleon - Tropius - Electrike - Manectric - Poochyena - Mightyena - Whismur - Loudred - Spinda - Zangoose - Seviper - Marill - Azumarill - Roselia - Pikachu - Raichu

The legendary pokémon you should try to visit are (with locations):

Registeel (the jungle where you begin, inside a dark, winding cave in a gloomy hill)

Regirock (inside a similar cave in a large cliff in the middle of the Desert)

Regiice (in a similar cave on an island in the sea to the west of Dewford)

Rayquaza (on top of the ancient Sky Pillar, a human temple in ruins on an island to the east of Pacifidlog)

Groudon (inside caverns in Mount Chimney)

Kyogre (deep inside caverns underwater in the big sea to the west of Evergrande)

    Latios (everywhere)

Latias (everywhere... these two might even be following your movements)

    - - -

    Rules?

    - If you want to play, submit a sign-up and wait for me to accept it. Then you can start playing as soon as the main thread is up. No such thing as "reserving spots" is necessary.

    - Everyone will begin at the village (which is mostly a gathering of pokémon nests in the jungle, nothing fancy like in PMD) where they can talk to Celebi in her treetop nest if they like (you can bunny her), and go out into Hoenn seeking the legendaries by themselves or team up with other players to do so.

    - Pick one of the pokémon species you want to play as. More than one person can choose the same species.

    - You may create two characters if you want to.

    - You must describe how you travel each area. You can't "time skip" and say that you're at Mount Chimney all of a sudden or something like that.

    - This game is rated 14+ because battling and some violence and light romance is alright. Drama is very alright.

    - You can have any attacks you like. No flamethrower on a water pokémon, perhaps, but you get what I mean. Keep it "real".

    - I am the game master (GM) and my word will be law. But I'm open to suggestions on events :)

    - - -

    How to sign up:

    Pokémon Species -
    Nickname -
    Gender -
    Any special appearance -
Biography - (make it at least a fat paragraph about how and where you grew up and make us understand your personality)
    Biggest strength -
    Biggest weakness -

    - - -

Here is my sign-up to show you what I mean:

    Pokémon Species - Raichu
    Nickname - Riz
    Gender - Male
Any special appearance - His ears and paws are black instead of brown, as are the stripes on his back.

Biography - Riz is a tough guy who wouldn't get scared easily. He was born in the safari zone as a Pikachu but fled to the jungle with some friends when he was still pretty young, when they had realized that they were pretty much bred there only to be captured by humans. Riz doesn't like humans much and would take any chance he'd get to zap them or give them a slam with his tail. When Celebi asked for help, he immediately agreed on it, for that reason. He is one of those who often patrol the outer rims of the jungle and chase away approaching humans.

When it comes to friends, Riz has a few but doesn't think he needs many. He doesn't think about the family he left in the safari zone very often and he doesn't miss them. He does enjoy the calm life in the hidden jungle village and a couple of younger Pikachus and other pokémon are looking up to him as some kind of bigger brother. He sometimes teaches them how to do attacks or sneak up on things, until their mothers discover them and tell him off. He usually shrugs and walks away without caring much, which makes the younger pokémon once again think he is the epitome of toughness.

Biggest strength - Almost never gets scared or cries.
Biggest weakness - He's afraid of deep water though :) Like large rivers or lakes and especially the sea. Somebody dropped him into a pond when he was a baby!

    This looks pretty cool :3

    Pokémon Species: Pikachu
Nickname: Daiyu (sometimes dubbed "Die" by other Pokémon)
    Gender: Female
Any special appearance: Other than the heart shaped tail and larger and darker ears of the typical female Pikachu, Daiyu's cheeks have a strange red-purplish colour, unlike the bright red most Pikachu have.

Biography: Daiyu once belonged to a male trainer who caught her in the Hoenn Safari Zone. She was very loyal to him, but kept fighting his other Pokémon and occasionally gave them more than minor injuries. Because of her overprotective and aggressive nature, her trainer abandoned her in Fortree City. Daiyu became very sad since she loved her trainer so much, but then got over it and became angry at him instead. She moved to the nearby woods and agreed to take care of Celebi. Daiyu isn't afraid of humans at all and would even attack them if necessary.

Daiyu constantly picks fights over the silliest things, which cause others to dislike her. She usually respects Pokémon older or larger than her, unless they make her angry for whatever reason. Sometimes her attempts to fight other Pokémon backfire, because she's small so she can easily be pinned down. Daiyu's native tongue is sarcasm, and she doesn't hesitate to speak in it. However, she is completely opposite with her friends. She can be playful and even sweet with those she's close to, but nothing near sappy. Daiyu would never ever hurt Celebi in any way, no matter what. She's aware of how important Celebi is to the ecosystem and to her friends.

Biggest strength: Good at tolerating pain.
Biggest weakness: She is very afraid of heights.

Also, is your avatar Jiji from Kiki? Probably isn't, but it's very similar,

Incredible, I just watched that movie right now! That's gotta be the most adorable cat I've seen.

Anyway, I've just edited the first post with some kind of intro for Riz. Post when you're ready, or wait for others to join if you'd rather we were more players before you start. We're not in a hurry :)

    This looks cool!

    Pokémon Species -Mightyena

Nickname - Cobalt (Because of his eyes.)

    Gender - Male

Any special appearance - Instead of red eyes, he has bright blue eyes. He wears a red scarf around his neck

Biography - Cobalt used to live near Little Root Town, but after a trainer tried to catch him, he got scared and ran to Fortree City. He lived as a stray, scavenging for food and sleeping in back allies. But he loved his life. He loved wandering around the city, and the surrounding jungle. One day, he was chasing after some bug types trying to get them to play with him, Torpicano came to find him. He asked Cobalt for his help and explained the situation. Cobalt instantly agreed, and moved himself to the village. He became one of the defenders, though he was not really that tough. But he kept battling, and soon evolved into a Mightyena. Using his newfound strength, he decided that he could try to convince the other legendaries to help Celebi get back home.

Cobalt is very silly. He is always laughing about something, a trait that irritates others sometimes. Though he usually doesn't take anything seriously, he is determined to see this through. He loves having fun, and wants everyone around him to have fun too. He is kind hearted, and hates to see others suffering. That is why he decided to undertake this quest.

Biggest strength - He has the determination to never quit.
Biggest weakness - He is scared of humans that try to battle him. Like, overly scared. Also, he never seems to be serious about anything.

    Pokémon Species - Absol

    Nickname - Nova

    Gender - Female

Any special appearance - Nova's colors are reversed. In otherwords, whatever would be dark blue on a normal absol is white and whatever would be white on a normal absol is dark blue.

Biography - Nova's parents were caught by pokemon trainers soon after she was born, leaving her to wander the forest surrounding Fortree City. A kindly Zangoose from the pokemon village found her and took her in, teaching her everything she knew. The other young pokemon in the village ridiculed her because of her strange coloring which was different even from a shiny Absol's. Because of this she would avoid contact with other pokemon. One day, an Oddish took things so far as to say Nova's parents had abandoned her. In a rage, Nova attacked the small grass-type and might have killed it if Torpanico hadn't stopped her first. Since than, the other pokemon avoided her, afraid that they would incur her wrath. She pretended not to care and instead of trying to show them she was trustworthy, she would often go off on her own to train. She isn't about to get captured like her parents before her. Now a fully matured Absol, Nova feels that she should help Celebi return to Johto.
At first glance, Nova seems cold and distant. Though this is true in a way, that doesn't make her heartless. She isn't afraid to challenge someone to a battle, even if they are stronger than her. She'd protect her friends with her life if need be and always fulfills a promise. Be careful of what you say around her or you may very well find a claw at your throat.

Biggest strength - She'll stand by her friends to the end.

Biggest weakness - When provoked into a rage, pretty much the only way to stop her is to knock her out.

Another pretty interesting character. Even though I think it's a bit weird that Nova would want to help Celebi even though she normally dislikes other pokémon, I won't be too picky. fortworth96, you are accepted into the RP. Feel free to start playing in the main thread :)

Nova doesn't exactly dislike other pokemon. She just acts like she does because she was made fun of.

I really hope it isn't too late to join even thought the RP has started. :3

    Pokémon Species: Spinda

Name?: "Ambrose Flannigan," he likes to call himself. (But was originally named just "Amba," meaning "love" to the Spinda race in their confusing and jumbled language.)

    Gender: Male

Any special appearance?: He differs quite a lot form normal Spinda. The most important diverging feature would have to be that his eyes are not swirl, but actual eyes. Although, their shape are the bottom halves of circles with a thick black outline around them, creating this look of despair, angst, and pretentiousness about them. He also has deep purple irises. The second most divergent thing about him is that where he sound be tan, he's white, and where he should be an orange-red, he's black (looking like an actual Panda, but this is the Pokémon world and they don't exist so hush.) He has various spots on him, nothing too important to note except for perhaps the two circles over his left eye that apparently used to look like a heart when he was born, hence the "love"-meaning name.

History: Ambrose was born into a clan of Spinda. He was just so different then everyone, what with barely looking like a Spinda at all. They would've began to worry if not were the heart above his left eye. You see, Spindas with a heart-shaped spot on their body were a sign of good fortune to come for everyone in the clan. And being so different-looking…. It was a miracle, right? And they treated it as such. They named him "Amba," meaning love.

From a scientific approach, the real reason why Ambrose is so different is that he is an evolutionary phenomenon. His genes randomly had all different kinds of mutations, and all good ones at that. Spinda like Ambrose shouldn't exist yet; at least not for another thousand years or so. His brain is like a supercomputer comparative to regular Spinda.

As Ambrose grew, he started to loathe all the Spinda around him. They were all so…. moronic to his superior intelligence. All they wanted to do was spin around and feel the affects of vertigo. He was going to get nowhere staying here. He made the decision to just get up and leave. Hey, if the other Spinda can survive on their power alone, he certainly can take care of himself.

He kept on moving and moving from village to village, keeping his profile low. Nowhere was suiting to his needs, and the intelligence of the other Pokémon were just mediocre, at best. He grew increasingly more desperate for a home. What was more annoying were the constant trainer battles EVERY SINGLE FREAKING TIME WHEN WENT OUT FOR EVEN JUST FIVE SECONDS. Whenever even his tail was spotted, a trainer would dig him out and try to catch him. Luckily for him, he constantly broke free and took care of every little team made up of pathetic excuses for Pokémon and just moved on. But, on the bright side of this, he did find the way of the humans fascinating to say the least. They were the dominate and most intelligent species, apparently. And it does take some skill to make technological prisons for innocent creatures, stealing them from their natural habitats, and be able to sell them for paltry sums of money.

He tried listening for names, because "Amba" was just a reminder that he came from a tribe of dizzy idiots. He heard "Flannigan" first, calling himself that for a while. But when he learned that humans usually had a "first" and "last" name, and that Flannigan was a "last" name, he began listening again. He hit the jackpot when the name "Ambrose" was said. Close enough for me to easily get used to, right?

Having to swim a little, he made it to the forest near something the humans called "Fortree City." There was a quaint little village, which since he had been absolutely done with traveling for a while, would have to do. The villagers, although Ambrose usually looked at them with the thought of them possessing inferior intelligence, opened their hearts to him just living in their village.

He was living there quite a while before a certain Celebi decided to pop up out of bloody nowhere.

Personality: Ambrose has a little bit of a superiority complex due to his superior intelligence, he has a great capacity to learn and observe, taking note of the whole picture and the smallest details. He's not one for complements, having been used to them all throughout his life because he's so unique, and will usually just brush them off. He also isn't particularly nice, one would call it, using sarcasm to subtly insult other Pokémon. He had quite the advanced vocabulary. He always wants to be in control of a situation because he doesn't others to be capable of getting anything done; usually preferring to travel alone.

He loves to study, especially about humans. Maybe if he learns enough, he could live with them like a real citizen, and finally be appreciated for his genius. Speaking similarly, he doesn't usually help others without getting something of equal or greater value in return, and doesn't believe in doing something "just because." "Just because?" Just because what, hm? Because it's "right?" Well let me tell you something, being "right" has a subjective meaning. My definition of "right" is doing something and getting something in return, because that's fair. If you're definition of "right" is doing something nice just because your heart tells you so, well then, I obviously don't have a heart. Nor would I want one. Now leave me be if all you're going to spout is pathetic naivety."

He's capable and pretty self-sufficient. Definitely trustworthy if given enough motive. He has seen quite a number of battles and can usually defend for himself. He's even figured out how to deactivate a Pokéball as it tries to capture you. He's pretty rigid on approach though, if a plan fails, he will fix the problems accordingly, and try again. He tries to not go for the "overhaul and let's go to plan B" approach.

Biggest "strength": Highly intelligent and Battle-Ready.

Biggest "weakness": Pretentiousness and not trusting others to be capable.

    Pokémon Species - Roselia
Nickname - Amethyst (Most often called Ame.)
    Gender - Female
Any special appearance - Unlike most Roselia. Amethyst has different coloring. Not shiny just different.
    Spoiler:

Biography - (make it at least a fat paragraph about how and where you grew up and make us understand your personality) History: Amethyst was born and raised in a small clan of Roselia. She never fit in at all due to being born with unnatural coloring. Her parents died shortly after she was born leaving her in the care of the leader of the clan. He and his family took care of her treating her as their own while warning other clan members not to say anything about her odd coloring. This went on peacefully for several years and Amethyst believed that her parents had the same coloring as her. After several years though the clan leader died and her whole life changed. Other Roselia in the clan started to shun her, make fun of her. Always giving her the last choice of any berries they found. This she put up with for a few more years before hearing about Celebi in the jungle. Trying to convince her clan to help but failing she set out by herself determined to help Celebi.

Personality: Despite her childhood Amethyst is a sweet and kind Roselia. She always wants to help other nearly always putting herself last. She always stops to think things through and never rushes into anything. Always trying to find the peaceful solution to a problem. She loves learning things and sharing knowledge having vast information about many things around the Hoenn Region. Despite that at times she can be very childish and can get herself into trouble when her childish side takes over.

Biggest strength - She is overly kind and loves to swim

Biggest weakness - She is too trusting of others

Kiyoshi the Polar Bear and Blayze~, you are both accepted. I probably won't put a limit to the number of players, at least not yet.

BUT I think you guys have to to together in a new group, or else it'll be too difficult to get a say in, I think. We will surely meet up around Hoenn or whenever we go back to the village, and even mix groups once in a while though. Especially if you choose to go after the same legendary as Riz and the others currently are, Registeel.

Or maybe we can be like rivals 8D whatever floats your boat. Feels like Amba would like that xD You can write about seeing Riz, Daiyu, Cobalt and Nova leaving the village if you want to, since I think we're about to do just that now.

    I don't Ambrose would be too keen on working together. XD;
I like the Rivals idea, that does make more sense.

Would you terribly mind if perhaps somewhere in the story Ambrose hatched a Pokemon egg and the thing started following him around, by the way? I think it would add some character development and it sounds fun to write. :3

Ah, that felt great to write. I'm starting to really like portraying Ambrose. :3

Hey, would you terribly mind if we have a crossover-like scene between your group and Ambrose? I think that would be fun to do.

Hope it's not too late for me to join...Lemme know if this is okay.

    Pokémon Species - Lombre

    Nickname - Fizz

    Gender - Male

Any special appearance - Fizz looks just like any other Lombre. He is usually seen holding a small twig in the side of his mouth, and wears a brown coat he stole from a human.

    Biography
    - Fizz was a happy child who lived peacefully with his family near the Human town of Fallarbor until his father, a Ludicolo, left to find food and never returned. This forced the Lotad to take care of his mother and sister, and he evolved as he had trouble doing that job as a small Lotad. One time, as the young Lombre went to get food, he found an unpleasant surprise when he came back: A human was attacking his mother using another Pokémon. His sister was lying on the floor, unconscious, and he watched in horror from behind a rock as his mother was hit by a round object the human threw at her and was captured. Fizz then came out of his hiding spot and charged at the human, who desperately tried to make a run for it. The man managed to escape, but Lombre managed to snatch the man's coat, and wore it as a memento. Then he went over to his sister, and tried to hide her from another human who was headed that way, unsuccessfully. This human reached a Super Potion from her bag and healed the injured Lombre. Then she asked her if she wanted to join her. The Lombre agreed and said goodbye to the crying Fizz, leaving him alone and a bit heartbroken.
After this incident, he decided to move somewhere else as he thought that his home just wasn't safe for him anymore. He wandered around Hoenn, crossing mountains, deserts, rivers and forests, until he finally found a place he felt comfortable in when he came across a small Pokémon village near the human city of Fortree.

Personality - Fizz is usually cold to everyone around him, and nobody has never seen him express any emotions. He acts like a hard-boiled private investigator: like a loner and a tough guy. But deep down inside he enjoys helping others. The thing is he doesn't like to show concern for others and likes to make those who seek his help feel they're in debt with him. THe reasons for this behaviour are still unknown.

Biggest strength - Fizz is very clever and can has no trouble making good decisions and solving problems.

Biggest weakness - Fizz is horrified of humans and lava.

Mick Fizz, you are accepted into the RP. But I think we'll stop accepting sign-ups from now as the RP suddenly moved very fast.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;___________;;;;;;;;;;;;; I just wrote an incredibly long post covering everything from my last post up to now, but then my computer ruined it and it's gone.......................... I'll have to write it all over again. It took me more than half an hour......................... hate. hate. hate.

Haha, Cobalt is to Ambrose like that worm from the first post xD
