    You have a 1 in 8192 chance of seeing a Shiney.....Their colours are different e.g Mew is White instead of Pink.

    There isn't any trick to it. Everytime you encounter a wild pkmn, there is a very slight chance that it's shiny (in which it's colour(s) are different). The theoretical probability of encountering shiny pkmn is 1/1892 (which may be why you haven't encountered one before), so if you happen to encounter one, make every effort to catch it. :P

    ~Fufu3000~ is correct, though the colour change is slight and may be hard to tell, they are there. As Sean has stated...
