Well my Pokébank is full of them from trades, but I haven't really caught many for myself, only around 10 of them >_>
Which ones did you catch? We'd love to hear stories of your successful hunts!
Next up for the team will be Cyndaquil cause it is my favorite starter!!!!!
Cyndaquil's my favorite, too! The Johto starters are the best ones, closely followed by the Hoenn ones. {:3}
I have a ☆Xerneas and a ☆ Ho-oh and a ☆ Linnone.
Sweet! How did you get the Ho-oh and Linoone?
The challenges are awesome, I'm going to start with team flying one for now.
Congrats on tailow and King nincada
Chr. Draco! Good to see you - hope your hunts are going well!
Thanks! Good luck on your Flying team!
So I was doing the new years challenge and was playing soul silver. I caught the shiny Gyarados and wondered if it counted at all? It wasn't easy to catch it fainted half my team before I caught it but the catch doesn't matter the finding part is what counts and finding it was to easy so I can't really tell if it should count and add it to my sigs list of shinies. Should I? P.S. Who else thinks red Gyarados looks freaking awesome?
We've always counted "cert shinies" for the club once, so I'd be willing to let everyone count up to one Red Gyarados for Quests if they wanted to. It'd ultimately be up to you whether you'd count it or not, but there hasn't been any rule against them.
Paulthagerous brings up a good point about Red Gyarados having a higher encounter rate than chained/safaried shinies, but I think it's kind of a different category. Getting Red Gyarados isn't using any method to make shinies more common, but I can definitely see both sides here. I'd like to let Obsideon decide whether or not he gets to count Gyarados, but if someone thinks this is unfair, feel free to let me know and we can talk about tinkering the rules.
Although, this whole discussion really only would matter if Obsideon had, like, 5 other Water shinies at the end of the year and counting Red Gyarados would put him over someone else for the Yearly Quest race, so I don't think we should really have to worry about it until then. :pink_smile:
One question I do have - can we use double ups? For a full grass team, could we use 6 Bellsprouts, or 3 (as Bell, Weep and Vict), or just 1 from the family?
Yup! You could even have 6 of the same Pokemon, but that wouldn't be much fun, haha. For the chaining parallel Quest, though, you can only count one Pokemon from each chain. That's just so no one, like, gets a chain of 40 and then just keeps resetting the Radar for the same shiny, "lol."
*references D/P/Pt Pokeradar and demonstrates his complete lack of understanding as to how the OR/AS radar actually works* {XD}
So since I was playing soul silver for a challenge I thought I might as well try and snag a shiny lugia and I have found out that sring is way faster on an emulator that has the speed up function! I am now at around 70 something srs in around half an hour!
No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's totally cheating!!!! If you get a shiny doing that it won't count for anything!! If you play on superspeed, that wouldn't be fair to anyone hunting on their games.
And trust me - you'll be much happier getting a shiny in a legit way! It'll be so much more rewarding and fun!
Finally caught my first shiny of the year! A Zubat via Horde Encounter in AS. Was trying for Aron but I'll happily take it!
Over 30 hours of SRing for shiny Mudkip in OR but no luck yet. Hope I've been doing it right! I saved in front of the bag after he asks for help, is that ok?
I was thinking about Ducklett/Swanna and how their shiny colour should really be black, are there any Pokemon that you think should be a different colour or wish that it was?
Woo, congrats!! And good luck on Mudkip - you're doing it right! Just make sure you enter the battle, since the picture of Mudkip when you select the Pokeball won't be shiny even if your Mudkip is shiny.
My favorite shinies are the ones with drastic color changes, like Rayquaza, Charizard, Latias, Drifblim, and Heatmor! I'd like it if more shinies had really striking colors that you'd never be able to confuse with their regular forms. Having totally different colors makes the shinies look so much cooler, in my opinion.
I have always thought that Pikachu should of been a much different colour shiny, I sorta wish it looked abit like this:
That Pikachu looks so awesome, haha! I'd love it if more shinies looked like that!
From my side I'm trying to find a shiny zigzagoon with pick up for my OR.
Good luck getting Zigzagoon! Then you could have a shiny Pickuper on your team for when you're shiny hunting to get tons of cool items along the way!
@G-Money
Congrats on the Boss nincada, finally the hunt is over. Must feel weird not hunting for it anymore right? :)
Congrats on the other bodyguards you caught along the way. ^^

Welcome to the new members & everyone else on their shinies! WOOOO!!!
*sending shiny vibes*

I myself am halfway done on one of my 2016 quest teams whoop whoop ^^
3 shinies 2 days... the reveal which shinies I got will come tomorrow :P
Thanks, DarkTorchic! Haha yeah, it does feel pretty weird not going after Nincada anymore. I was hunting that forever!! It almost feels...liberating to just wander around Hoenn, being all like "Oh, this route has cool shinies. I think I'll do a few encounters here..." and not having to worry about my game turning off before finding a crucial shiny for my Ghost Quest! This mini-Hoenn tour is so much more relaxing, haha.
AND 3 SHINIES IN TWO DAYS!?? AND YOU'RE NOT TELLING US!?? *dies from suspense*
EDIT: "lol" I don't even finish my post and DarkTorchic finds another shiny! Congrats!
