I just realized that the number of new Pokemon introduced this Gen. (68, according to Serebii.net) is almost equal to the combined number of chromosome pairs (69; seeing as there are typically 23 per cell) that the three games from the current trilogy (X, Y and Z) would add up to. Think about it...the amounts are off by just 1.

  • *SPOILERS*
After you solve the Power Plant situation there will be a weird looking man talking about a "flower pokemon that grants eternal life." I'm pretty sure that the new hidden Pokemon is something flower-related, and most likely a fairy type! (Either that or they are talking about Flabebe, which is highly unlikely xD )

No it's not a new pokemon, the pokemon in question will be explained when you beat the main story.

  • They (Masuda I believe) has already stated that any connection between X & Y and chromosomes/DNA is purely coincidental so yeah. :p
