    SYNOPSIS

    The Setting
"Terra" takes place in a technologically-advanced and metropolitan alternative of the Kanto Region. Where futuristic technology is present, coexisting alongside are the ancient remnants of a vicious magic.

Kanto has been completely revolutionalized by advanced technology known as C-Life, a powerful virtual simulator that was strongly innovated by the previous Pokemon Storage Systems. C-Life was created by the renowned brilliant, yet somewhat senile, scientist "Dr. Albert Franklin Genistein". The C-Life system is connected to a series of virtual life environments commonly known as the Net World. The Net World is currently governed by Neo Rocket Corps., a dangerous syndicate which steals and sells a variety of Pokemon - they are also known to fund and conduct experimental research on a few specimens. Their ultimate goal is to transform Pokemon into lethal weapons of mass destruction, simply for their own selfish benefits.

Throughout the region of Kanto, there have been reports of several meteorites crashing nearby cities or other urban areas. These meteorites carried a species of alien life forms, which holds dangerous mutagenic properties. The mysterious life forms were dubbed "Antirus", as it's nature is both similar to the life forms known as Pokerus but contrasts significantly with their beneficial characteristics, the Antirus being more parasitic rather then symbiotic. Antirus easily became a pandemic in Kanto, infecting both human and Pokemon alike. Humans appear to develop supernatural abilities when infected by Antirus, most commonly developing Psychokinesis powers (also known as PSI). These infected humans are labeled as "Espers". On the other hand, Pokemon experience a different reaction from Antirus. Due to the mutagenic properties Antirus has, Pokemon undergo a powerful transformation where they become destructive, vicious and feral. Barely holding any resemblance to their original forms, these infected Pokemon have been labeled as "Rogues".

It has been known that Antirus doesn't just affect organisms but it also affects the environment. Antirus harms ecosystems, climate rates and even alters the entire geography of a certain area in Kanto. Many water bodies in Kanto have been polluted by Antirus and are now poisonous to most life. The western part of Kanto has been covered in unnaturally large rain forests, which is where much of the Antirus comes from. These forests, all together known as "Forsaken Woods", are inhabited by several dangerous monsters, including Rogue Pokemon that once lived in these forests. The eastern area of Kanto has been locked in an unusually frigid winter, with most of the inhabitants living there dying from the harsh cold climate. The southern parts of Kanto has been flooded entirely - being invaded by a tribe of aquatic creatures known as the "Mermerians". Up north, where Mt. Moon once was, is now an empty canyon known as Dead Man's Valley, as all life is now absent up north of Kanto. In the center of Kanto, is the large Metropolis known as "Astree" governed by Neo Rocket Corps.. It is the biggest haven known in Kanto currently, but with that said, it isn't exactly the safest place. Astree is also facing it's own personal crisis.

    PLOT
During the middle of a restless night, a meteorite crashes nearby the small town of Pallet and causes commotion and disturbance to the residents. A group of children were awakened by the meteorite's impact. The group of children gets invoked by a mysterious telepathic message from the hermit witch Minaminta (who is extremely kind to the group), instructing them to venture into the Forsaken Woods for a "gift". The group of children reluctantly enters into the Forsaken Woods.. and inevitably getting lost in the progress.

Fortunately, they were rescued by the hermit witch Minaminta from the clutches of the Forsaken Woods and they all take refuge in Minaminta's hut. Minaminta then makes a request to the group, asking them to deliver a strange parcel to a Dr. Genstein who lives in the Atree Metropolis. The group decided go on this errand. However, shortly after their depature from Pallet Town, the group was attacked by a mysterious stranger, an esper named Hono who ended up taking the parcel from the group. Following this man unexpectedly threw the group into a chain of misfortunate events that triggered a phenomenal occcurrence in Kanto.

    Terminology

    C-Life
An innovation of the Pokemon Storage System, developed by Dr. Albert Franklin Genistein. Pokemon and various inanimate objects can be stored within the C-Life system as computer data, just like the previous Pokemon Storage systems. However, additional features have been added, such as the feature to personally modify computer data in a C-Life system. This means if one were to transfer a red chair in C-Life as data, they could modify the chair's data and recieve a green chair instead - or another possibility is that they could duplicate the data and recieve two red chairs. This doesn't apply to Pokemon, however. Hackers have been known to utilize this modification ability on Pokemon, but the results were usually unsuccessful. C-Life also features the ability to transfer data (usually Pokemon data) to the virtual cyberspace known as Net World. Pokemon can freely roam around through the Net World, in a series of virtual environments based off of areas of the Kanto. Net World is governed by Neo Rocket Corps. There are occasionally AI programs that attack and capture any harmful threats in the Net World. Some of these programs have been hacked and corrupted, turning into viruses which attack anything in sight.

    Antirus
A pandemic, a crisis in Kanto. Antirus are alien life forms that share a parasitic relationship with it's host. Though it's origins are unknown, much of the Antirus comes from the vast forests in western Kanto, deeming that area completely dangerous. Antirus has mutagenic properties, therefore it causes certain organisms to mutate - affecting Pokemon significantly. For humans, a different kind of reaction occurs as humans are able to develop supernatural powers from Antirus. Despite it's dangerous nature, Antirus provides an extraoridinary amount of energy, hence why most hosts gain such immense power. A cure or a vaccine for Antirus is currently in progress, but there seems to be little hope since most know so little about these life forms. Most Antirus parasites happen to be microscopic, but there seems to be a few that take on a large size, big enough to be seen visually with the naked eye.

    Astree Metropolis
Kanto's "Big Haven". Despite this, it isn't all that of a wonderous place to live in, because of Neo Rocket Corps. Astree constantly relies on the C-Life system, as well as other technology. It is a very advanced technological city, when compared to the other cities, villages and towns in Kanto.

    Neo Rocket Corps.
A criminal organization that governs Astree and the Net World. Though, it is indeed bizzare that Astree allowed an evil syndicate this task, Neo Rocket Corps. does indeed protect Astree from most danger. Neo Rocket Corps. is also funding research into finding a proper vaccine for Antirus - but they seem to see a bigger potential in Antirus. Currently, the leader of this corporation is anonymous and unknown. Some state that they don't even have a leader.

(Note: Despite obvious similarities, Neo Rocket Corps. has little to no relation with Team Rocket.)

    Esper
Humans who have been infected by the Antirus develop supernatural powers, enabling them to perform extraoridinary actions. When a human develops supernatural powers, there's usually a down side. Most commonly is a shortened lifespan, though some Espers also develop a psychotic behavior, much like Rogue Pokemon. Unlike Pokemon, humans possess stronger immunities and are more durable against the Antirus. The chances of a human getting infected are significantly low, with the probabilities being 1/8192. And even if a human does get infected, their immune system would most likely get rid of the Antirus before they are capable of developing any supernatural powers.

(Note: Yes, your character can be an Esper. But not everyone can be an Esper.)

    Rogue Pokemon
Pokemon that have been infected by Antirus and underwent a mutation. Pokemon have virtually no immunities against Antirus and are always in danger of getting infected by the Antirus, especially in the western area of Kanto. Luckily, Pokemon that have been infected can easily be cured. However, Pokemon that have underwent transformation CANNOT be cured (but a cure is currently being researched). Transformation roughly takes at least three days, before the Pokemon mutates. Rogue Pokemon are very dangerous, as they are very feral and viciously hunt down others without reason. Though most Pokemon lack any real immunities against Antirus, a few specimens are known to have special immunities that protect them from Antirus. Though there's 1 in 21,845 chance of finding a Pokemon that possess such an immunity. Rogue Pokemon cannot be tamed, but in spite of this, they are captured by indivuals known as Pokemon Hunters.

    STARTER POKEMON

I am quite reluctant and dissent the whole Starter Pokemon thing in most RPs. So.. Bear with me - The choices here are somewhat uncanny.

    Squirtle / Jun
    Terra

    Gender: Male
    Nature: Lax or Relaxed
    Ability: Torrent
Info: A Pokemon that has developed a rare immunity against Antirus. Often brings misfortunate to itself and also to those around. Training this Pokemon may require some patience.. and some luck. It is indeed Shiny. However, it's shell seems to change colors randomly.

    Chikorita / Chikorita
    Terra

    Gender: Female
    Nature: Gentle or Quiet
    Ability: Overgrow
Info: A fairly gentle and calm Pokemon, that lives nearby Pallet Town. It is one of the very many Pokemon owned by a strane hermit witch who resides in the Forsaken Woods. This Chikorita developed a few magical powers, notably it's ability to unusually extend it's leaf.

    Combusken / Kasai
    Terra

    Gender: Female
    Nature: Rash or Lonely
Ability: Conflagration (Powerful version of Blaze)
Info: An experimental Pokemon that escaped from Neo Rocket Corps., after being treated so cruelly and harshly. Through several tests, this Pokemon is capable of unleashing the devastating "Conflagration".

Hitmonlee / Hideki Lee(RPed by me)
    Terra

    Gender: Male
    Nature: n/a
    Ability: Reckless
Info: The Lone Wanderer of Kanto. Powerful, agile and very intelligent - he is a very extraordinary Pokemon. However, Hideki is also very solitary and is very independant, his headstrong behavior often disregards other's suggestions and advises, making him a fairly difficult Pokemon to work with.

    Haunter / Charon
    Terra

    Gender: Male
    Nature: Naughty or Impish
    Ability: Levitate
Info: An exile from a gang of ghosts and Ghost-type that lives up on Dead Man's Valley. This Haunter apparently caused too much mischief, to the point of annoying everyone in the gang - including the leader himself - and was kicked out from the gang and exiled from the valley.

    --------------------------------------

So, here are the choices. Once you pick a starter, you have to make a SU sheet for that Pokemon and expand on their personal information that was briefly given out by me. It's ultimately up to you to decide what kind of Pokemon/character they'll be in the story. You can modify their character to your own liking if you wish. Give your own explanations and descriptions of the traits some of these starters have - i.e, you can say that the Squirtle can change the color of it's shell depending on it's current emotion. You can also give them additional traits if you want - like Haunter being able to possess people.

The only exception for this however is Hideki, a Pokemon that I will be RPing as.

You can also change the given nicknames if you want - they're just the default optional names. Haunter will still be refered to as Charon, since that is actually a title and not a name.

All these Starters coincidentally end up in Pallet in one way or another. The number beside their names indicate in which order they appear in the story.

    My SU

    Name-Hideki Lee
Age-Roughly 6 years (Time spent with Tadashi)
    Species-Hitmonlee/Sawamular
    Gender-Male
    Owner-Tadashi (Deceased)
Moves-Reversal, Brick Break, Bullet Punch, Rolling Kick, Endure, Foresight, Hi-Jump Kick, Strength, Close Combat, Suplex (Submission), Triangle Jump*
    Items-Red Bandana
    Primary color-Brown
    Eye color-Black
    Good Point-Robust
    Bad Point-Reckless behaviour
    Likes-Pasteries, Cooking
    Dislikes-Computers
Appearence-Besides his worn out keepsake (bandana), Hideki has the same appearence of any oridinary Hitmonlee. He is known to be a bit taller then most Hitmonlees, as well as having slender, weaker looking muscles (which is ironically odd, considering that he's exceedingly stronger).

Personality-A humble and brave wanderer, who dedicated his life to his deceased master's training, in his undying determination to become stronger. At first glance he may seem cold and indifferent. His emotionless and tough exterior conceals that of his more kind and compassionate side, having capacity to show deep concern for others. He is known to take his own personal matters and issues rather intensely and does not tolerate any incompetence. He is gentle but fierce when briefly described.

Hideki is intelligent as he is resourceful and adaptable - such traits have made him exceedingly independant, allowing him to survive on his own and lacks the need of a trainer (though he was trained by his former master, Tadashi). This independance made Hideki somewhat headstrong and maverick, often disregarding rules or other people's suggestions - though he does ocassionally show appreciation for the opinions of others, rather then simply acting blunt. He is known to be aloof in social activities, but in spite of this solitary attitude, it's not necessary to think of him as anti-social. He personally enjoys when he is accompanied by others and even occasionally shows some signs of autophobia, disliking solitude to a point (hence why he always travels through cities with alot people, rather then travelling through rural areas). He is fairly controlled and confident, able to stay focused and undistracted by angst or other similar emotions. Even in the most exreme circumstances, Hideki always manages to keep his cool and always comes out with a retort for every obstacle he faces. He is known to be somewhat reckless, usually being heedless of not others but rather of himself. Though he may appear boring and serious, Hideki actually has a childish sense of humor, though only in rare occassions does he actually portray his comical traits.

Hideki is also known to have an enormous sweet tooth, for his unusual desire for sweets and pasteries - though he is never seen eating. He also seems to have a special talent in cooking.

Background-Suffering from amnesia at an early point, prior to his encounter with the famous martial artist Tadashi, Hideki has forgotten much of his past life. Discovered by Tadashi as an uncouncious and weary Hitmonlee, Hideki and Tadashi quickly became friends. After witnessing Hideki's unnatural traits, Tadashi saw it was more fitting to take Hideki in as a student rather then have him as a tamed Pokemon. Because of this, Hideki underwent several extreme training - all of which were the same procedures Tadashi took when he himself was still a student. All of Tadashi's strainful tasks and trials has made Hideki one of the strongest Pokemon - to Tadashi, one of the strongest "warriors". Hideki spent nearly six years with Tadashi, before he succumbed to a mysterious, fatal illness and passed away.

After Tadashi's death, Hideki left in order to fully complete his "training". He was instructed by Tadashi that he would need to prove himself of his strength, by going through his own personal trial - by "trusting himself". Afterwards, he ultimately became a lone wanderer, strongly believing that this is what Tadashi meant. Travelling aimlessly and tirelessly, in an endless search for ways of becoming stronger. In the progress of this search, Hideki ended up accomplishing good deeds (or sometimes bad) for many individuals whom he encountered for a short period of time.

Abilities-His prodigious intelligence and excessive strength marks him unique among his species, let alone of all Pokemon. He is remarkably smart, though he is somewhat brash. Hideki is capable of communicating through human speech - a notable trait he possesses as a Pokemon. His ability to communicate through human speech seems more of a trait he was born with rather then an aptitude he gained, as many would believe at first. He is also able to make proper use of human tools (i.e, chop sticks) and even has a fair amount of knowledge of computers, even though he personally hates them.

As for his brawn, Hideki also shows an impressive amount of value in strength. As his species is known to specialize in leg movement, Hideki is no exception. However, he can exceed the limits of an average Hitmonlee and utlize his legs beyond their normal capabilities, even going as far as to mastering the dangerous "Triangle Jump" technique - a type of movement that consists wall jumping up horizontal surfaces as an advanced method of climbing. Though the technique severely strains the user's leg when used frequently, Hideki is able to execute this technique several times before becoming fatigued, therefore this dangerous technique is extremely beneficial for Hideki. Hideki also has an impressive amount of endurance, although it is known for him to frequently neglect his pains and not take his injuries seriously. If not alerted, he could easily succumb to severe injuries and enter a crippled state unknowingly.

    ---------------------------

Seeing as how Hideki can talk, yes.. You can have talking Pokemon. Don't have to come up with any technological explanations behind it, just as long as you have sufficient grammar and spelling.

Though Hideki is shown as one of the Starter Pokemon, it's advisable to avoid picking him since he's being RPed by me. If you do pick him, feel free to have an Esper as your character or use a wild card.

Point out any weird flaws you see here..
