    I have a shiny Rotom (pride of my collection) and a hacked shiny Absol (which I wanted simply because of its badass colouration. Its stats pale in comparison to my EV-trained Hecate.)

    That may be a good thing. Even now, I see new members putting threads in CQ&F asking 'were 2 dnlode shinygold cos i ca'nt find it lololol'. And even if it's the last generation, I can still hang in the FF&W section. Not to mention the Art Gallery. And OC. And OT (lol) etc.
