Some of you may already know that female Snorunt can evolve into Frosslass if you use a Dawn Stone. Sounds harmless right? Now lets examine that a little further
Snorunt is a pure Ice type Pokémon. Frosslass is a dual Ice/Ghost type Pokémon. You use a Dawn Stone to make it evolve. Lets put in in math terms.
Dawn=Sunlight
Sunlight+Ice=Melting
Ice type Pokémon+Melting=
DEATH
In other words, by evolving it into a Frosslass, you are effectively
KILLING YOUR SNORUNT. Way to go trainer
On the subject of Frosslass, lets get to know the Pokémon better. It may look like a somewhat pretty ice ghost, but it likes to... FREEZE ITS VICTIMS AND DISPLAY THEM! Imagine spending the rest of your life as an ice statue. Frosslass itself is based on the
Yuki Onna, a Japanese ice spirit, who would either be merciful and let her victims go free... or do such lovely things like freeze them to death or drain them of their blood/life force.
Remember in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum when you were on your way to get your 7th Badge? On Route 217, there's a house near a rock that can let you evolve your Eevee into Glaceon. If you enter it, the lights are turned off and a woman is sitting alone and unmoving at the table. She talks in a creepy whisper about how she never gets visitors any more and please, take this, and you get a Spell Tag—an item that enhances ghost types. And if you re-enter the house after leaving, it's deserted—there's no-one there. Not to mention a trainer that's near the cabin mentions legends of hauntings in the area...
Lets piece that together. Since it's in an Ice-type region, she gives you the Spell Tag which enhances Ghost Type moves, and people talk about recent hauntings, the woman may have been a Yuki Onna, or a Froslass in disguise. Which may make things creepy when you realize that if it was indeed either one, she could have frozen you and turned you into one of her trophies forever!
Glalie, its male counterpart, isn't much better. As if its design isn't creepy enough, according to it's
Pokédex entries,Glalie like to freeze their prey and leisurely EAT THEM. Yes,
leisurely. It gets worrying when you realize its
five freaking feet tall and weighs over 600 pounds. That's big enough for it to eat an
adult human.
