Lucia hummed merrily as she floated along in the hall, the colored band she wore around a fin marking her as a student, though it still wasn't enough to cause anyone to NOT look away. She knew where the room was thankfully as she happily floated up to the door and opened it up, humming as she found a seat... not necessarily sitting in it but floating above it as Tyro stood next to her, "You know... Roberto would usually be here. Maybe you should let him out?"
Lucia looked down at the pokeballs wrapped around her abdomen, "I'm not sure... I mean... maybe not. Yes, definitely not." She gave a few nods, "He'll let me know when he wants to come out."
After a few minutes of waiting, a rather awkward looking Flannery made her way into the classroom. She seemed unsure how to feel about teaching a class consisting half of pokemon, pokemon that were also heroes of the island and people! ...Not that pokemon weren't people, but--! Flannery's mind raced as she tried to get over a dozen preconceptions about pokemon. This hadn't been what she'd had in mind when she'd sought to teach prospective trainers how to maintain a healthy lifestyle!
...Was being transformed into a pokemon 'healthy'?
Probably not. Trubish! She had a lot of work to do. Flannery began counting her students, struggling to pick out which of them were students and which were just pokemon being allowed free reign of the classroom. A long moment passed before she spoke.
"Students?" she asked aloud, grabbing most of the students' attention. "It's about time we began." she added after a moment, flashing a mildly nervous smile.
"Ooooh!" Lucia held up a finned hand, "Can I get another desk? I can't necessarily fit into mine..."
There were some other murmurs in the room as a Charizard in the back squirmed a bit, before the desk it had tried to fit into kind of broke. Lucia tilted her head, "Though is this class surely necessary? I mean, it wouldn't stop the feral-vication process my sensors are picking up." She explained. "My HUD is saying that given a period of three weeks every student here will descend into the throes of becoming fully feral as most pokemon, barely able to recognize their old lifestyle."
"What!?" A Breeloom student cried out as the other pokemon squirmed a bit.
"Oh yes!" Lucia beamed, "My sensors detect us changing over time, probably becoming more and more pokemon and less and less human! It'll start with memories, then personality, and other such aspects of humanity will be stripped bare."
As she spoke some of the pokemon students began to panic as suddenly many of them began to shout out, most obviously shouting for answers from Flannery as others cried out that they were all doomed.
Lucia meanwhile titled her head, "Ooooh... I have pong on my HUD!" She went quiet as suddenly loud dings from the game pong echoed out as she began to play the game. Tyro just glanced around and let a very loud sigh.
"I'm here!" Samantha said, proclaiming her entrance into the class. "Phew, just in time, too. I got a little sidetracked and I-- oh?"
She stopped mid-sentence, taking in the sight before her. Mingled in amongst the students were... pokemon? She had seen some kind of announcement back at the dorms, posted for everyone, mentioning that some students had been transformed. Of course, Samantha had chalked it up to some silly prank that some other students were playing, but apparently, this was not the case.
Samantha suddenly paused. Well, this was certainly an interesting start to the day, for sure. She quickly walked towards the nearest available desk, trying to pretend that everything was normal. The students, particularly the transformed ones, were murmuring amongst themselves, as Samantha just looked around the room, partly due to anxiety, but also due to some curiosity. This was going to be an interesting class, indeed.
Flannery just sort of... watched in utter confusion as the class began to panic. What were those pokemon even saying?? She hadn't the faintest clue. "Kids--Kids!" she called out urgently, trying to grab their attention back. It would take an entire minute's patience, but the room eventually acknowledged that she wished to speak.
"...Thank you. Now what's wrong?" she asked, trying to grasp what had just happened. Luckily, at least one of the transformed students in there had a friend with one of their translators. One awkward translation ever and Flannery was giving Lucia a somewhat unamused look. Wait--Was she playing pong over there? For a moment the fiery woman just sort of listened to ye olde video game noises in disbelief.
Nope.
The moment's frustration passed and she decidedly did not regard the porygon z further, completely declining to comment. She cleared her throat. "Please understand, we're working very hard on finding a way to reverse this. We're not going to let you get ... feralized." she explained awkwardly, debating whether that was even a real word silently.
"In the meantime though, we've done a bit of debate on the subject and -most- of the--" Flannery started, only to have the door swing open. Oddly enough, no one entered. Flannery waited a moment before calling out. "Hello..?" she asked.
"Yes--Um... Hi. I'm having trouble fitting through the door?" a transformed female student's voice remarked. Lucia might recognize it as Valorie.
"Oooh! I know that voice!" Lucia said suddenly as she floated up, "Hm... five minutes on pong. Interesting!" She floated on over to the door and wasted no time. A tri attack shot out and, luckily, missed Val... it just shattered the wall so a bigger hole was there. "There you go!" Lucia said cheerfully. "And you should TOTALLY get a seat next to me Val! We're just starting and all"
A student emitted a scream and Flannery just sort of found herself gawking at Lucia's behavior again, utterly as a loss for words as a disturbed Valorie hesitantly peaked through the hole. "Lucia..?" she asked, bemused by the other's choice of problem solving skills.
Lucia happily nodded, "Yeah. Well, come on Val, we're just starting like I said. Unless you wanted to spend countless hours just trying to fit through.. I mean we could have, but it's not your fault." She said as she patted the Goodra's shoulder, only to shudder as she floated back and flicked her finned hand in the air to get the goop off. The good news was that it got off! Bad news was that it was flung on some other students. "Er... yeah, so uh, we'll just find a seat for you and all. Oooh I got it!" She floated on over to empty desk as she picked it up with her fin arms and floated on over everyone's head as she set it next to hers. "We'll be study buddies!"
Meanwhile, as Valorie hesitantly eased her way into the classroom, Flannery stared at the wall as if drowning in a sea of doom and gloom. No meeting nor staff training session could have prepared her for a catastrophe like this. It was like watching a wailord belly flop into a beachside city in slow motion!
Valorie eased her way over next to Lucia and stared at the infinitely too small seat for a moment. According to her calculations, the volume of her backside times the weight of whatever she was made of, she would rip the desk asunder if she were to sit down! "Lucia... I--" she started, shaking her head. Her gaze shifted to Flannery and she abruptly seemed to shift shaped, perfectly mimicking the other's form. She then proceeded to casually sit down and cross her legs, beaming at Flannery with a look that sought approval in her eyes.
"...Right." Flannery murmured out, struggling to regain her composure.
Samantha just watched the other interact, not entirely sure how to respond to the situation. It was... well, strange was an understatement, that was clear.
Lucia floated happily in her seat as she opened up the word program on her HUD and got into serious study mood, obvious by the fact that she pulled her small arms tightly against her body.
Samantha noticed the Porygon focus himself... herself... itself? Whatever it was, it reminded her that there was suppose to be class going on right now. She fumbled around in her backpack, pulling out a notebook. She rummaged through her pack again, locating a pencil. Well, at least she was prepared. She opened the notebook to the first page, putting pencil to paper to begin taking notes.
"Life sk--"
Before she could even finish the title of the class, her pencil snapped and broke. She frowned, realizing that she didn't even have a pencil sharpener. She looked around the room nervously, seeing if anybody looked as if they would have a spare writing utensil. In front of her sat the Flannery look-alike, most likely a ditto, judging by the circumstances. Samantha gently tapped the girl's shoulder to get her attention, speaking quietly, but loud enough for her to hear. "Excuse me, do you have something I could write with? My pencil just broke..."
Valorie turned her head. "Uh--Sure..." she replied, digging a convenient pencil out of her pocket. It was ... perfectly normal! Where she'd been keeping it before she transformed was up for debate. Flannery gave Valorie an uncomfortable look as she watched her double speak gibberish. She once again declined to comment however.
"Let's avoid destroying the school, shall we? We need our budget for, y'know, making sure you all make it back to your normal bodies..." Flannery explained sheepishly. "Anyway!" she added, promptly taking on a more optimistic tone. "In the meantime we can try to make the most of this and perhaps make it a bit less unpleasant of an experience for you all. For a long time pokemon professors like Professor Oak have been studying the bond between humans and pokemon, asking themselves how it works and why it works. One thing we do know for sure is that trainers who understand their pokemon tend to be better trainers because of it." she began explaining, putting both hands upon her desk and leaning forward.
"I know it might not seem like it at first, but this is an amazing opportunity!" she added after a moment.
Lucia tilted in mid air as she held up a fin, "Why is it an amazing opportunity?" She asked. "I mean... there's nothing we can do about... but you're making it sound like we're going to be guinea pigs in an experiment or something."
Lucia's question was lost on Flannery, but it wasn't long before it was more or less echoed by someone who could speak properly. Flannery frowned at the notion. "Well... you could. I'm sure there are some very safe and respectable professors out there who would pay you a hefty sum of cash for the chance to do some research, but that's not what I was getting at. Nobody is going to make you do -anything-." she assured the class, raising both hands and puhing the idea away from her. "Here's what I was getting at though. Why don't you treat this as your own experiment? Not many trainers get the chance to experience anything remotely like this. If you embrace it and get a real grasp of what being a pokemon is like, you'd have better insight than most other trainers on the planet!" she explained with a smile.
Valorie seemed to consider it for a moment. Why, that was actually pretty convincing! Who could argue with being a better trainer? Flannery continued. "That's what I want to talk about today, making the best of your situation. Now I want all of our transformed students to ask questions that might be on their minds, one by one, and I want those of you with translators to translate it. After that we'll work on a healthy outlook and managing some basic independence skills." she explained.
Lucia tilted herself in mid-air, "Hm...." She thought for a moment, "Well... uh... no one's going to catch us right? I mean, we have these bands and all... but what if someone does catch us? How will the staff know we've essentially been kidnapped?"
