2nd Gen The Pokemon Acquisition Challenge

alright, so i did a little bit:

-picked totodile and named him PartyBus.
-forced PartyBus to level up a couple (8) times.
-caught a bellsprout, named it a naughty word.
-traded naughty-word-nicknamed bellsprout for ROCKY.
-trained ROCKY to level 13, even though he stopped loving me at 11.
-beat the sprout tower and falkner with PartyBus.
-went to azalea and beat the rockets and bugsy.
-caught an abra near goldenrod and gave it the same nickname as bellsprout
-traded the abra for MUSCLE
-beat whitney with MUSCLE.
-caught a female sudowoodo, named it LadyWood.
-got the eevee from bill
-evolved it with a fire stone from Alan on like...route 34 or something.
-beat morty
-caught a krabby, named it the same thing as abra and bellsprout and traded it for a voltorb.
-tried to train VOLTY but didn't have the patience.
-beat chuck and got the medicine.
-beat jasmine.
-went to mahogany and killed the red gyrados
-beat the rockets
-beat pryce.

So, i completed the Common Pokemon challenge, so i can restart Crystal now for this challenge. I'll start soon.

And i've a question: What about Game Corner Pokemon? I've not seen anyone using them yet, doesn't that game corner person count as an ingame NPC?

Ah, whatever, time to post some progress (like anyone else here, i'm using screenshots):
First, i did stuff which i'm to lazy to tell in details now (and didn't take any screenshots of), this resulted in beating Falkner with my Bayleef called Sauerkraut. It was quite easy.

I obtained the Togepi egg, and went through Union Cave to Azalea. There, i - of course - beat Team Rocket, Bugsy (took me some attempts), and my rival called Silver (because i just pressed start when i had to name him)

Then, i obtained the Cut HM from some dude in Ilex Forest and caught me a Sandshrew (didn't find any Paras or Oddish in the forest and didn't want to go back to bellsprout areas) which i taught it.

After crossing the Forest, i first beat some trainers and then got a Spearow which i should use to deliver a mail to some random guy near violet. Of course i'm keeping it instead. Shortly after this, Togepi finally hatched, i called it Omelette. Then, after getting the Radio and Bicycle (which i forget in most playthroughs), i went into the daycare and got another egg, which hatched into an Elekid (i had saved before the daycare guy so he doesn't give my something normal-typed, but got Elekid on first attempt). I had no idea what to call Elekid like because it doesn't remind me of any food, so i googled 'Elekid Nickname' and the first result was "call it stuf u i wold". I don't really understand what this means, but that's what i called it like because i had no own ideas.

After that, i just for the heck of it brought the letter to the guy near Violet, but it was held by Sandshrew instead. Pretty stupid by me, because that means i had to catch another HM slave, and again, it was a Sandshrew, the first thing that can learn Cut and i met after realizing there's a Cut tree in Ilex Forest making it impossible for me to get back to Goldenrod.

Back at Goldenrod, i bought me Ice and Fire Punch TMs for StufUIWold (whatever that name means), and even got a free Return TM (Sunday is the default day when the protagonist's mother asks which day it is...), apparently Bayleef is pretty happy.

I decided to drop Togepi from my team, Metronome might be a funny move, but it's just too unreliable. (i got Fissure on a Juggler's Voltorb and it hit, but that doesn't always happen, most of the time i get useless stuff like Bide, Agility or Spike Cannon)
Beat Whitney, she gave me some trouble, but at the end, Bayleef won this close battle for me. After getting access to Ecruteak, i first got the Eevee from Bill, and then the Qwilfish fisher's number by going through Mt. Mortar (too bad i can't access the Black Belt with Tyrogue yet...) While driving around quite some time (and beating all the trainers between Ecruteak and Olivine), but after not playing for maybe 10 minutes while not knowing the game was still running, i finally got my phone call, apparently it depends on time and not on steps... Passed Mt.Mortar another time and finally evolved my Eevee, which has by the way the extremely uncreative nickname Vappy.
I forgot taking screenshots, except for after beating Whitney.

After beating the rest of the lighthouse, my rival and Morty's gym with mainly Vaporeon, it had finally catched up to the rest of my team.

Then, i should have headed to Cianwood, but i decided to do the Mahagony stuff first. So, i got my Hidden Power TM and found out my Pokemon's Hidden Power types (except for Electabuzz, which doesn't need any more coverage). None of them was really good, so i decided to keep the TM for future team members. One dead red Gyarados, some defeated Rockets, an Evolution (Elekid->Electabuzz) and 3 suicidal Electrodes later (high speed+Screech+surviving a hit+Selfdestruct = lolrape), i was finally able to enter Pryce's gym.

The gym was pretty easy, Bayleef (which evolved somewhere in there) and Electabuzz destroyed it without much effort, the only thing that caused little trouble was a Swinub that got freezehax.

So, after beating all trainers on that ridiculously huge water route, i finally challenged Chuck, Kenya had no trouble at all to beat him. Shortly after, i got my 7th badge by defeating Jasmine, she was even easier.

Then, it was Team Rocket time again, so some minutes later, team Rocket was defeated again and Meganium was underleveled, it really doesn't like all the Poison types...

already had went to Blackthorn before, so i just had to fly there and challange the gym. Clair wasn't as easy as the previous gym leaders. Vaporeon easily destroyed the Dragonairs, but no one in my team could really take on Kingdra. Luckily, today it's favorite move was Smokescreen, so Kenya could Swift it to death. After getting the badge and a new team member, a Dratini in Dragon's Den, i'm now heading back to Mt. Mortar, to get my final team member, Tyrogue.

Reached Mt. Silver, challenged Red, lost since my team was exactly Lv. 50, trained a bit, team is same, movesets are same except for Allan learning Flamethrower, Gael learning Thunderbolt (i started on friday night, knowing that I can't catch Lapras that day, I put the day as Thursday, which meant today is Saturday, and the Tutor was there) and Phillip learning Blizzard. I trained Riley and Allan to Lv. 60, others are Lv. 50.
mondays suck, Electabuzz learns Thunderbolt in it's 40's, so you'll soon get a better electric move. You could also use a random Gyarados caught at Lake of Rage as your slave for Strength, Whirlpool and Waterfall, though those HM's aren't required in Kanto. And wait, wtf, my Vaporeon didn't even want to learn Aurora Beam.

Oh, and about the slave... I'm keeping Krabby, deleting Dratinis Waterfall will require less effort than catching a Gyarados.

After a (very) little break from playing, i'm now the proud owner of a Tyrogue with HP Ghost, which is acceptable. I don't know yet how powerful it is, since all i hit with it was a Rattata up to now... Before i can go to the Elite 4, i'll first have to train Dratini and Tyrogue into their 30s...

Ok, if one of my team members sucks, then it has to be Hitmontop. Mainly because it has no real STAB, Rock Smash is a joke. At least HP has a pretty high Power, ~60 i think
About the nickname... I was uncreative again, so i gave it the name of the song i was listening to when i nicknamed it.
And there's no Hitmontop Crystal sprite on Bulbapedia, so i'm using the Gold one.
