The School of Hard Knocks: Akindunte's Story

Chapter One
The First Day of School​

Akindunte Adjatay, a eighteen years old African male woke up from the bright raising sun. He pulled his blanket off his bed and got up from laying on his bed. He walked into the bathroom, pulled the shower curtain, and turned on the water. He pulled off his clothes and walked into the hot steaming shower. He washed his body and grabbed the shampoo bottle with the conditioner and washed his hair.​

When Akindunte turned off the water and pulled the shower curtain so he could see in the mirror, he stepped out of the shower and wipped the water off his body. He wrapped a towel around his legs and walked into his bedroom. He shut the door and pulled the towel off. He grabbed his clothes and quickly put it on his body so he wouldn't be late for the school bus. He walked outside his bedroom and walked downstairs to eat his breakfast.​

"Good morning mom and dad," said Akindunte.
"Good morning son, how was your sleep?" asked his mom.
"It was okay, I slept good though," said Akindunte.​

Akindunte grabbed his plate of breakfast and his fork and ate his food on the table next to his mom and dad. When he heard the bus coming down the road, he quickly grabbed his backpack and went outside the front door. He saw his girlfriend Ruby sitting in the back seat so he got on the bus and sat with her. They started talking about their new class project. When the bus stopped at his rival's house, his rival walked on the bus and sat in the seat in front of him.​

The bus kept on moving and it took half and hour for it to get to the school of hard knocks. Hard Knocks is a school where the students wouldn't have to earn the badges, but you have to earn certain skills and complete certain classes. The bus driver opened the door and all of the students walked out of the bus. The bell rang for the first class and Akindunte walked into the class. He had to bring out his current pokemon and show them to his teacher.​

The pokemon he had was Weavile, Garchomp, Luxray, Houndoom, Eevee, and Glaceon. He was saving his Eevee for when Ruby turns sixteen so he usually kept it in his house for safe keeping. It was lunch time and so Akindunte walked too the cafeteria and got his food. He typed in his lunch account and went to a table where Ruby was sitting and started to eat.​

"Hey there," said Akindunte.
"Hey, how's your new year so far?" asked Ruby.
"It was okay, I battle with this freshman last hour and he beat me," said Akindunte.
"Wow, I bet he's going to be the new best trainer instead of you," said Ruby.
"Yes I know, he beat the best trainer in Hard Knocks," said Akindunte.​

They both talked and talked about their first school day back in Hard Knocks and when it was time to go back to class, a junior classmen offered him a pokemon battle. The offer was a cruel judgement that he wasn't the best trainer in Hard Knocks. The trainer that was competing him was in the junior class and Akindunte was in the senior class. The pokemon junior classmen grabbed his first pokemon and threw it out on the classroom floor.​

"Okay than, if its Venasaur than, I'll bring out my Houndoom!" exclaimed Akindunte.
"Use Petal Dance now Venasaur!" exclaimed the junior classmen.​

The six foot seven inch male Venasaur wraggled its leaves and started a petal dance, the petals flew towards Houndoom, but the Houndoom played as the smart dog and burnt the petals with his breathe.​

"My turn, use Fire Blast now Houndoom!" exclaimed Akindunte.​

The four foot seven inch male Houndoom stood guard and blew a big blast of fire towards the male Venasaur, making it weak and burnt.​

"No! Use Synthesis now Venasaur!" exclaimed the junior classmen.​

Venasuar tried to restore health, but it wasn't the time and place to do so.​

"Ha! You need to know if it's sunny out and we would be outside, but we're inside the classroom. Use Fire Blast again Houndoom!" exclaimed Akindunte.​

Houndoom blew a huge fire explosion and it did make a fire explosion, the water sprinklers turned on and Houndoom was getting weak by the falling water.​

"No! My Venasaur been defeated! Now go my Wartortle!" exclaimed the junior classmen.​

When the Wartortle came out of its pokeball, the Wartortle was happy to attack, but Akindunte quickly switched his Houndoom to his three foot eight inch female Weavile.​

"Use Water Pulse now Wartortle!" exclaimed the junior classmen.​

Wartortle opened his mouth and blew a huge ring of water that hit Akindunte's beautiful Weavile.​

"Use Metal Claw now!" exclaimed Akindunte.​

The beautiful Weavile raised its sharp claws and slashed Wartortle in the face. The hit took extreme damage, leaving Wartortle nearly defeated.​

"Use Water Pulse again Wartortle!" exclaimed the junior classmen.​

The water ring once came out of Wartortles mouth and splashed on Weavile. The Weavile was almost defeated but it was still undefeated, as Akindunte said before.​

"This battle will be near over, so finish Wartortle off with Night Slash Weavile," said Akindunte.​

Weavile raised its sharp claws in the air and suddenly, the room became pitch black and non-seeable. No one knew where Weavile was at and than when the lights went back on, everybody saw that Wartortle was on the ground defeated.​

"Ha! Next time you should become more intelligent with the pokemon you choose," said Akindunte.
"No! This can't be, you are the undefeated trainer in Hard Knocks! You will pay for this Akindunte Adjatay!" hollered the junior classmen.​

Chapter Two
The Bug Challenge​

Akindunte and his classmates were in class and than his teacher said that they were going to have the great senior race. He was happy and excited that they were going to have the great senior race because they were just one year away from saying goodbye to the school and head to the elite four to challenge Lance, the dragon-type champion. The teacher told them that they had to go outside in the yard and practice.​

When Akindunte was practicing his pokemon moves in the yard behind the school, the same junior classmen came up to him and told him that the pokemon battle they had before was the last one he had because he was going to drop school because he couldn't defeat him. Akindunte told him to give up but the junior classmen didn't want to listen to him.​

"Here we go! We're going to start the race in one hour!" hollered the senior intructor.​

It was crunch time for Akindunte and his pokemon didn't make any progress at all. He asked the junior classmen to help him out on some pokemon moves to teach his pokemon and when the junior classmen heard that from a senior classmen, he was suspicious. Akindunte told him that he wasn't going to copy his moves but he was making sure his pokemon moves were the ones for the race.​

It's now noon and after the classmates from the school ate lunch, the senior classmen lined up on the white line and waited for the referee to start the clock. The record timing was a month and two weeks and if Akindunte beat the time, he would be the best trainer in the school of Hard Knocks. The time started and Akindunte ran as fast as he could.​

He ran about five miles past the school and the first challenge was a forest filled with bugs. He started to walk and catch his breathe since he was the only one that was inside the bug forest. When he started to walk along the forest floor, he saw a Caterpie laying there on the floor, he bent down and tried to touch it to see if it was dead and than suddenly, the wild Caterpie jumped up and attacked him.​

Akindunte was hurt in the leg so he sent out Houndoom to attack the Caterpie. He told Houndoom to bite him with crunch and than when Houndoom came back to Akindunte, the Caterpie attacked him with tackle. The hit didn't effect Houndoom at all so Akindunte told Houndoom to use flamethrower. The Caterpie fainted and than suddenly, Akindunte heard more people coming so he told Houndoom to run with him.​

Akindunte was more on the grassy ground and than suddenly, he saw his junior classmen friend walking around so he went and talked to him. He asked him if there was a short cut so out of the forest. The junior classmen said that there was but he gave him advice for the more powerful bug pokemon up ahead. The junior classmen sent out Infernape and told him to use flamethrower move to clear out the forest.​

Akindunte told Houndoom to help out Infernape and with a team, both Houndoom and Infernape burned down the whole forest. When the junior classmen walked into a dark area and faded away. Akindunte walked along the grassy trail and than suddenly, he saw three colorful flowers hanging on a branch and a moth-looking pokemon sleeping on top of them. He touched it and than all four of them attacked.​

"Okay now Houndoom, use Fire Blast now!" exclaimed Akindunte.​

When Houndoom raised the huge fire bolt towards the four bug pokemon, they were hurt but not defeated. Three of the pokemon used leaf storm and the moth-looking pokemon used bug buzz. The loud buzzing sound from the moth alarmed the other seniors and than so they knew were the end of the forest was. Houndoom had enough of the sound so he used fire blast without Akindunte saying anything.​

The four pokemon was defeated and Akindunte ran as fast as he could so he would win the first challenge. He kept on running and than suddenly, he ran into a huge puddle of honey on the ground. He looked up at the horizon and than he saw a huge beehive sitting on a tree. He looked surprised until he saw a big bee coming out of it. He saw it charging up five diamond-looking shapes and than when they came, he ran.​

He ran away from the diamonds and than suddenly, he stopped. He looked at Houndoom and he looked like he wanted to fight the huge bee. Houndoom ran towards the bee and used fire blast at it. When the blast bursted into the bees eyes, a swarm of smaller bees came out of the beehive and healed the bigger one. Akindunte and Houndoom wanted some honey for dinner so Akindunte told Houndoom to use it again.​

The last breathe and fire burst of Houndoom hit the huge bee and than the whole bee went into a burst of flames. Some of the smaller bees survived and flew away. When Akindunte and Houndoom was walking on the trail again, they got spurted with honey. It was on both of their faces but Houndoom suddenly licked it off. They were both inside the bug forest for a whole day and he had a feeling that he was going to win.​

"Hmm, I wonder what that sign is for," said Akindunte to Houndoom.​

He read the sign and it said that a huge dragonfly-looking pokemon was going to come out and ask you for a race. Akindunte had a big smile on his face and wanted to accept the bugs racing challenge. When the dragonfly-looking pokemon came out, it was six foot and three inches. Akindunte was thinking that it was a tall pokemon for a bug and than when the bug buzzed three times, the race begun.​

Akindunte and Houndoom ran as fast as they could and by time they were running for five minutes, the dragonfly-looking pokemon was ahead. Akindunte stopped for a second and than he realized that he can cut in the race by making Houndoom use flamethrower. The flames blew on the trees and than suddenly the whole race was over in a few hours. Akindunte and Houndoom won the race against Yanmega.​

Both Akindunte and Houndoom were out of breathe so they just waited for the others to come past them. He saw the sun go down the horizon so they knew they had to go and walk out of the bug forest. They kept on walking and than when the pitch black sky came in, Houndoom went back inside its pokeball and than Akindunte sent out his beautiful Weavile. Weavile looked ready to battle but it wasn't time.​

Akindunte told her to light up her diamond crystal so he could see and than when the light came on, he saw a dark cave up ahead so him and Weavile ran towards the cave. Akindunte was running out of breathe so Weavile told him to relax and take a rest for a few minutes. While he was taking a rest on the sandy floor, Weavile saw a swarm of wild Zubat flying towards the cave so she knew that it was almost ready to fight.​
