This is my totally redone first character, as well as the beginning of my other two characters, which I'll probably finish tomorrow.
Name: Maeda Amaya
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Neo-SOS Brigade, Thear - alternate reality
Power Type: Amaya really possesses two powers. The first is her Slider abilities, which allows her to travel dimensions. This is done through a silver bracelet that she wears on her left wrist at all times. Unfortunately, upon her arrival, the device shorted out and she has become temporarily stranded on Earth. Second, like all beings of her world, she is able to materialize a specific weapon out of thin air for self defense. While this weapon is in her possession, her abilities are heightened so she is capable of combat. Amaya's weapon is a pair of
elbow blades, much like those used by
Talim in Soul Calibur.
Personality:
On the exterior, Amaya is your typical pre-teen girl. Well, your typical pre-teen girl with the intelligence of a student who is in high school. Which is why, of course, she was placed in a 10th year class at North High after taking the entrance exam. Anyways, the easiest way to explain Amaya's personality is to break it into "modes", for she seems to shift personalities depending on what sort of situation she's faced with. Under most circumstances, she takes the role of arrogant, annoying, little brat. Even with her term at North High only being short this far, the fact that she is technically a middle schooler in high school has formed a small ego that has her looking down on people that she considers undeserving of her respect. To these people, she assigns a less than flattering nickname. She will only call people she respects by their real name, no matter what. At first glance, Amaya wouldn't seem any different than any other girl of her age. She is very energetic, bubbly, mischevious, and she hates to be bored. Overall, she's a very annoying person to people with little patience, especially when she tries to take a "mightier than thou" tone. Of course, when dealing with other supernatural existences without being tied down by the weight of humans to which she can't reveal the truth about her life, Amaya takes on a much more serious, mature personality. Monitoring the SOS Brigade is still her job, and she has to cooperate with these other supernatural beings in the club in order to keep things safe, after all.
Appearance:
Amaya, being the age she is, is far from a young, attractive, well endowed woman. She does, however, still possess that childish appearance that could make someone's heart melt if she willed it. While she is clearly Japanese, her eyes are, in fact, blue. This is due to the difference between Thear and Earth. In contrast, her hair is red in colour, and shoulderlength in size. Generally, she keeps the hair tied into two curly ponytails at the back-sides of her head, which are tied by orange scrunchies. She is thin, and athletic for her age, which clashes with her obvious skill in the academic field. Of course, she may only be athletic because she is so energetic. While during school hours, she of course wears the usual uniform. While on her own time, however, she chooses to dress in a white blouse along with a long, blue, floral print skirt, with a pair of pink flipflops. Of course, her outfits vary, this is just her favorite.
And I give you the inspiration for this character. It's basically exactly what she looks like. XD
Other:
Because of her age in relation to her grade, Amaya doesn't have a lot of friends. The other students, while fascinated in her, don't seem to take a liking to the age difference, and push her away because of it. For example, while doing sports in gym, Amaya is a liability in comparison to the older students. In reality, Amaya is actually a slider from an alternate dimension that branches off historically after the second World War. After the awakening of Haruhi Suzumiya, Earth and Amaya's world of Thear became connected, and while Thear wasn't under the direct influence of Miss Suzumiya, it felt some devestating after effects. During Haruhi's reign as SOS Brigade leader, Thear desperately tried to create a device capable of sending someone through a dimensional rift so that they could monitor the girl, but such a device wasn't ready until after she had moved on from high school, and by that time they had just learned of the brigade. But the scientists of Thear grew suspicious, and began to fear the existance of another like Haruhi. If that was true, she would surely rise to take the role of SOS Brigade leader. It was for this reason that they sent two teenaged boys through the dimensions to monitor the potential, new Brigade leader. However, while changing dimensions, something went awry. Under the influence of Haruhi Suzumiya's grasp on Earth, the two boys underwent both physical and mental changes while in transition. While one got off easy, taking the form of a 20 year old man, the other ended up cursed in the form of a young girl. That girl was Amaya, and the two ended up living together taking on the guise of brother and sister who's parents had died. Using that excuse, it wasn't difficult to get the schoolboard to allow Amaya to take the North High entrance exam despite her age, and she was eventually accepted. Now, as a student at the school, it would be easy to monitor the SOS Brigade if it ever came up again. Of course, she never expected to end up being involved in the club...
Name: Nakano Momo
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Affiliation: School paper, Neo-SOS Brigade
Power Type:
Fortune Teller / Divination - While it really shouldn't be defined as a "power", it really is more like an ability. Momo comes from a family that has a long history of being known for it's fortune telling and divination practices. Because of this, Momo also partakes in such practices, and has become well known for it at North High. Nobody really knows how many methods of foreseeing that Momo can use, but she seems to rely on a large red diamond that she carries on the end of a long chain a lot more than she relies on other methods. Some are skeptical of her abilities, but truth be told, she really does have some talent.
Personality:
Momo, to describe her in a nutshell, is a very troubled girl. She has no problem feigning confidence and self respect, but in reality she is a very damaged girl emotionally. Momo comes from a family in which she shares with eight other brothers and sisters, all who practice the family talents of fortune telling and divination, and unluckily for her she ended up being the middle child. Because of this, her parents often neglect her for the needs of her other siblings, and she gained an inferiority complex. No matter what good things she did, one of her siblings did something better that stole her thunder and knocked her down. Years of repeated treatment like this eventually took it's toll on her. She tends to cry, a lot, especially when she is alone, and she only confides the true reasoning as to why she's crying to her only true friend, Yuudai. She is a pretty quiet girl. Not quite on a Yuki Nagato quiet level, but she tries not to talk a whole lot. This is fine by her standards, as people avoid her anyways, as anyone who isn't interested in her fortune telling tends to see her as weird and freaky. That's not to say that she's a big loner girl who never shows any emotion. While she isn't easily amused, she does enjoy the company of others, and she surprisingly likes to play video games. She has a crush on Yuudai, and it's blaringly obvious... to everyone but him. It's her inability to speak her mind freely that leaves her incapable of admitting it.
Appearance:
Despite whatever weird and freaky reputation she may have, Momo is actually quite an attractive girl. Because her mother is European, her hair and eye colouring is untypical of a young Japanese woman. Her eyes take on a purple colour, while her hair is blonde, and falls down to her shoulders where it curls inwards towards her head slightly. She, of course, wears the usual North High uniform while at school, but her casual clothing is a little more than normal. To start, atop her head she always wears a black cap with yellow stars circling around the perimeter of the triangular edges with three little stars in each triangular cut out. The upper portion of this outfit is composed of three parts. The first covers from just above her bare stomach to her neck, and it is composed of a main, black section of material that covers her more than generous chest and shoulder. In the upper portion, just above her chest, there is a piece of metal that is seemingly gold embedded into her outfit, which is in a v-shape. She has three more of these just below the black material, just above her stomach, only the lower portions are the shape of an inverted V, and they wrap all the way around to her back and back. The next piece makes up her sleeves, as two red pieces of material with vertical lines puff out slightly where the black material ends, and extends to just before her elbows so that her elbows down are exposed. Coming up from the collar of the shirt-like portion of her outfit is a large, red hood, with yellow stars once again wrapping around the edge of the material. The hood is very long, extending backwards quite a ways. The lower half of her outfit only consists of a red piece of material that wraps around her waist and acts as a sort of skirt. The material only reaches partway down her thighs, where the red material is met by black stockings (excluding a small area on her left leg where the skirt reveals some of her leg), which also have vertical lines down them. On her feet, she wears a pair of plain, black shoes. In the end, this was my bad attempt at describing
this picture.
Other:
Momo is well known at her school as a fortune teller. Aside from a both she opens occassionally, she also has a column in the school paper where she reveals horoscopes and the like. The source of her ability is apparently ancient, rooting down to gypsies far down on her mother's side. While she isn't aware of the mysteries of the SOS Brigade, she's heard stories that have left her intrigued about it.
Name: Murakami Yuudai
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Affiliation: Momo
Power Type: None
Personality:
Yuudai, having been Momo's friend since they were children, is pretty much used to the strange and bizarre. He is a very open minded, yet analytical individual who doesn't dismiss anything as impossible until he has solid proof against it. It's using that logic that he's been able to believe in Momo for twelve years. He doesn't have a particularly interesting character, as he is generally quite laid back, although he could be considered quite sarcastic. Yuudai has no issues going wherever Momo goes, and it's because of that that students have labelled him as her dog of sorts. He is pretty oblivious to a lot of things, especially girls, which is why he has yet to recognize that Momo actually has a big crush on him. He sees himself as more of a brother to her, as he's been around her for so long, protecting her. One issue, however, is that he tends to get confused by elaborate explanations, as he is not entirely bright. His grades aren't all too impressive, either. But even so, he presses on.
Appearance:
Yuudai is pretty much your standard Japanese, male, high school student in ever single way. He has medium length, messy brown hair, and brown eyes. As a soccer player, he is quite fit, but other than that he has no notable appearance quirks. While at school, he of course wears the standard male uniform of North High, in all of its glory. While on his own time, he wears nothing other than a pair of navy blue jeans, accompanied by a white dress shirt and black running shoes. He also tends to carry around a pair of stylish black sun glasses.
Other:
Other than being on the soccer team, there isn't that much interesting to say about Yuudai. He lives with his mother and younger sister, and has a job as a waiter at a cafe downtown, but that's about it.
