    THE TRUTH
Never mistake the obvious for the truth…

    PROLOGUE

Satoshi Tajiri. That had been the name he carried since the day he returned, Satoshi Tajiri. Studying the streets of Tokyo below him, he reflected on his past. Twenty years had passed already, though to him it seemed like a matter of days. Rain pelted heavily against the window pane, distracting Satoshi from his distant memories. He continued to study the streets, all of which was bustling with people despite the late hour. How can they be so blind… blind as to what is truly out there?

A purple light flooded the room, bringing Satoshi's attention to the Lustrous Orb. It had been flashing for three days now. It was only a matter of time. He walked over to its display stand, placing the Lustrous Orb into his hand. Satoshi stared into its core intently as the distant memories came flooding back to him, memories from when he was ten years old. He remembered the day he found it, sitting beautifully in the pond of his garden. He remembered feeling strong emotions, emotions of sadness. All he wanted was to escape, escape from the place he called home. He remembered reaching out for it, reaching with desperation in his eyes. Then he slipped, crashing into the depths of the water beneath him. He remembered fighting for breath, as the water began to fill his lungs. But most of all, he remembered the purple light which engulfed him.

Satoshi returned the Lustrous Orb to its display stand, and then walked over to a gold framed, antique mirror. He positioned his fingers behind both sides of the frame, and removed the mirror from the wall to reveal a hidden safe. He entered the code, and in turn the door clanked open to reveal a wooden box. He carefully removed the contents of the safe, and wrapped it in azure silk. Satoshi always knew this day would arrive, but he felt it had arrived too soon. Once the deed was done, he positioned the mirror back onto the wall. In its reflection, he noticed the Lustrous Orb. However, something was different. The flashes of purple light had stopped. Satoshi hastily turned his head towards the Lustrous Orb, as realization of its meaning came to him. They had arrived.
