It's been a while since my last update, which was in early September. I've been really busy since then, mainly with school among other things. However, now I'm on winter break so I decided to dig up my challenges. For those of you who started the challenge after me, I am doing an Ultimate Grass and I've already completed Blue and Silver. Now I am on Sapphire, and I had made it all the way up to right before the sixth gym. I was having some trouble with her because of the obvious disadvantage, so today I decided to level my team up and I just now defeated her. Now I am in Mt. Pyre battling Team Aqua. Here is my current team:

Grovyle / Lv35 / Dig, Leaf Blade, Fury Cutter, Quick Attack

  • I have question. Do I have to start form Kanto? Cause I'd like to start in Emerald cuz I just completed fire red and I'm a bit sick of Kanto now... also can I use Expert Emerald hack it's a harder 386 hack, but if 386 hacks are a validation of the rules I'm willing to only use Pokemon that are catchable in Emerald..

    So basicly
    Can I start from Hoenn?
Can I use diffucult modified hacks for ym monotype run?

Today I made some progress. I made my way through Lilycove and Mosdeep, and defeated Tate and Liza, securing my seventh gym badge. After a lot of grinding, I moved on and did the legendary/Team Aqua stuff necessary to continue with the game. I then defeated Wallace, and I am now in Victory Road. My current team:

  • Short update.

Once I defeated the Team Rocket Executive once and for all, I made my way through Route 44 and Ice Path, arriving in Blackthorn City. After a quick healing and some stocking, I challenged the Gym Leader right away, resulting in victory, but not the Badge. Damn.

    a0hz07.png

Once I found the Dragon Fang inside Dragon's Den, Clair decided to award me with the Rising Badge, needed in order to challenge the Pokèmon League.
Great! But to challenge the Pokèmon League, "thou shall pass the Victory Road".
Prof. Elm gifted me a Master Ball, nice! But I don't need that thing atm. Once Routes 26 and 27 were history, I cleared with very ease the Victory Road, meeting once again my Rival, and smashing him, once again.

    2580xp0.png

That's it! I am at the Pokèmon League. But first, I felt like I needed some training. Thus, I levelled up the team to Lv. 44, just in case. I then proceeded to revisit the movesets. All set. Ready... Set... Go!

    (Team screens coming later)

Finished Sapphire! I went through Victory Road really quickly and defeated Wallace, then I trained my entire team to level 50 using Gabby and Ty. Then I took on the Elite 4. I easily swept through Sidney using Breloom, Phoebe using Cacturne, Glacia using Breloom again, and Drake using Ludicolo. Then I took on Steven using mainly Ludicolo, but also Sceptile and Breloom. The MVP would have to go to Ludicolo because I couldn't have defeated the champion without it (Breloom was a close second though). The LVP would have to be Tropius, though Cradily came close. Now I'll move on to Diamond! It should be fairly quick because I'm probably the most familiar with Sinnoh.

No, yeah, your right, you post that your gonna do it, then next post your updates.
I've got a question, I plan on doing a dark challenge on Platinum later. So can I hack in the Member's card to get Darkrai, not early or anything, just when I get to Canalave City.

Unfortunately, no legendaries are allowed in the challenge, would have been neat but way to broken XD

I made a little progress yesterday and I plan to make even more progress today in Sinnoh. I started the game and did the opening sequence, choosing Turtwig as my starter. I traveled through Sandgem Town and eventually arrived in Jubilife. I did all of the things in Jubilife, then went north and caught a Budew. I trained Budew a little, then pressed east to get to Oreburgh, battling my rival along the way. I found Roark in the mine, then went and defeated his gym, earning my first gym badge. Then I traveled back to Jubilife and went north to Floaroma Town. I then went east to defeat Team Plasma at the Valley Windworks. Before defeating Plasma, Turtwig evolved and I chose to run around forever to get Budew to evolve. once my team evolved, I finished defeating Plasma, then went north and quickly made my way through Eterna Forest. As soon as I got to Eterna City, I challenged and defeated Gardenia to earn my second badge. Before saving for the night, I went and slathered a tree with honey, in hopes of getting a Burmy.

  • Announcement!

I now own the Monotype Challenge. I plan to maintain a weekly update so that you can all be recognized for your progress. Anyone who has completed the Challenge should PM me with a link to your completion post so I can add it to the thread. I will be overhauling the first post completely, so it may be a while before everything is up to speed. Everyone currently doing the challenge should make sure that their next update has a total Badge count, and for those of you doing Ultimate Challenges, a list of completed games.

I look forward to working with you all!

  • Alright, time for a huge update. I was getting a bit bored with Ultimate Elec-Mono Emerald so I started up an Ultimate Ice-Mono Challenge on Yellow, though I am still doing my Ultimate Elec-Mono Challenge. So, here's a rundown of what I've done so far:
    Ultimate Elec-Mono: Emerald

    - Chose Torchic as starter so May would have Marshtomp for extra challenge
    - Evolved Torchic and beat Roxanne, then caught Nincada for an HM slave
    - Helped Mr.Briney, then went to Dewford and cleared Granite Cave
    - Skipped over to Slateport to see Stern and beat the Aqua grunts
    - Caught C.Viper the Female Electrike, then caught Negative the Male Minun
    - Level grinded then went back to Dewford and showed Brawly whose boss
    - Went back to Slateport and made my way North to Mauville
    - Had a hell of time with May and her Marshtomp, but pulled through and continued on
    - Made it to Mauville and put Wally in his place
    - Had an electrifying showdown with Wattson and emerged victorious
    - Made the long trek North to Fallarbor, then made it to Meteor Falls
    - Went to Mt.Chimney and fought of Maxie and Team Magma
    - Went South and arrived in Lavaridge
    - Cleared through the gym then finished Flannery with little effort
    - Went all the way back to Petalburg to face Norman
    - Breezed through the gym then had a surprisingly pathetic fight with Norman

    Ultimate Ice-Mono: Yellow

    - Started the game and did the usual errand for Oak
    - Hacked in a Wild Lv.2 Lapras and called it Nessy(original, right?)
    - Beat Blue then made my way through Viridian Forest
    - Arrived in Pewter, then destroyed Brock and his gym
    - Hacked in a Wild Lv.4 Seel and nicknamed it Freezeezy( if you get it, you're awesome)
    - Walked to Mt.Moon, then spelunked my way through to the exit
    - ...where I was stopped by Jesse&James, who I soundly destroyed
    - Arrived in Cerulean, then beat the trainers in Misty's gym
    - Challenged Misty and managed to beat her Starmie with Nessy
    - Beat Blue again, then made my way to Bill, who gave me the SS.Ticket
    - Hacked in a Wild Lv.9 Jynx and Nicknamed her Ice Queen
    - Made my way to Vermillion City and entered the SS.Anne
    - Battled my way through the Cruise ship and once again defeated Blue
    - Gave the Captain a Pepto and received Cut in return
    - Crawled my way through Surge's gym then spent about 10 minutes on his stupid gym puzzle
    - Fought an uphill battle with Lt.Surge but pulled it off somehow
    - Went through Diglett's Cave, obtained Flash then went back to Cerulean
    - Hacked in a Wild Lv.15 Shellder and nicknamed it Sheldon
    - Went to Rock Tunnel, then trekked through the cave, emerging in Lavender Town
    - Ignored Pokemon Tower and traveled West to Celadon instead
    - Kicked Giovanni and Team Rocket out of the Game Corner, then headed back to Pokemon Tower
    - Beat Blue again then went Ghost Busting, followed by Rocket Busting
    - Saved Mr.Fuji who gave me the Poke Flute
    - Level grinded South to Fuchsia and stopped to grab Surf and Strength
    - Went North through Cycling Road and arrived back in Celadon City
    - Ice Beamed my way through Erika and her gym with little effort

Okay, that's it for now, I'm gonna try and update more often so I don't have to make long posts like this again.

Oh, and to NecrumWarrior, all of my Game progress and Gym Badges can be found in my Signature. By the way, it's nice to see someone take over this thread and do something with it, I'm looking forward to seeing what changes you make down the road :)

  • Slowly but surely I'll finish Platinum! Made some small progress but damn was Maylene's gym difficult! Next is Wake's! How will I survive with these Rock types?!

    Spoiler:

NecrumWarrior: I completed an Ultimate Ice Monotype on Pokemon FireRed, Silver, Emerald, Platinum, and VoltWhite. I'm currently on Platinum of an Ultimate Rock Monotype with 4 badges, I finished Pokemon Red, Crystal, and Emerald already. I'm also doing an Ultimate Bug Monotype, I've yet to start Emerald and I've already beat Pokemon Blue and Crystal.

P.S - The reason why I rarely update is because I have been working on a hack for Pokemon Black and White, which I am nearly finished, and when I'm done my updates will again be more consistent. The main purpose of the hack is to play Pokemon where EVERY Pokemon is usable and catchable, while the difficulty has a major increase. I expect it to be finished before the new year.
