Normal Monotype: Johto: Update #9

Lot of progress here
After Claire, I made my way to the Dragon's Den and did the Dragon Challenge thing
Afterwards, I went back to New Bark Town and surfed east into Kanto
I made my way through Tohjo Falls and through the path to Victory Road
I proceeded through Victory Road, defeating Silver
I decided I needed a 6th Pokemon, and I started to train a Tauros I had caught earlier
Challenged the Elite Four when I felt ready

Will' Pokemon were defeated with a combined effort of almost all my Pokemon
The Xatu's were taken out with Rollout
Slowbro was defeated with Drill Peck
Jynx fell to Earthquake

Koga's Pokemon were easy, Miltank solo'd him
Body Slam and Surf took out his whole team

Bruno was also really easy
Miltank's Surf took care of the Onixes
Drill Peck took down the Fighting Types

Karen was somewhat difficult
I got lucky with a few critical hits on her Umbreon and Vileplume
Houndoom was pretty easy with Earthquake

Lance was slightly difficult, he Hyper Beamed quite a bit
Rollout and Surf were miracle moves here, taking down all his Pokemon

Now I'm the Champion of Johto, huzzah. Eh.
Moving into Kanto, I defeated all gym leader with relative ease (not going to do an update for each one, that would take forever)
Did all Kanto stuff
Saved outside of Mt. Silver, training my Pokemon for Red

After training all my Pokemon to level 60, Red wasn't that difficult.

Pikachu was defeated with one Earthquake
Espeon took 2 Body Slams by Chomp
Venusaur took 2 Drill Pecks
Blastiose took 3 Zap Cannons
Charizard took 3 Horn Attacks

Moving on to Hoenn in Emerald, wish me luck.

Normal Monotype: Hoenn: Update #1

Beginning the game, I chose Mudkip as my starter
I quickly replaced Mudkip in favor of a Zigzagoon
Trained Zigzagoon (Bandit) while I proceeded to Rustboro City
Caught a Skitty (Luna), Taillow (Jet), and Whismur (Echo) near Rustboro and started training them
Challenged the Gym and lost miserably to Roxanne's Geodudes
Grinded for quite a while until I evolved Echo and Jet
Challenged the Gym once more

The second time around was easy due to my 2 evolved Pokemon
Jet used Wing Attack to take out the 2 Geodudes
Echo used Uproar to defeat Nosepass

After defeating Roxanne, I rescued Peeko from Team Aqua and got back the Devon Goods
I got a PokeNav from the Devon President
Made my way back to Mr. Briney and sailed to Dewford Town, where "FATHER SAYS" is all the rage, apparantly
Went into the cave and gave Steven his letter
Challenged the Gym

Brawley 1HKO'd all my Pokemon, except Jet
Jet 1HKO's all HIS Pokemon with Wing Attack. It wasn't even fair.

Normal Monotype: Hoenn: Update #3

Sailed to Slateport
Defeated all trainers here and Team Aqua
Defeated May under Cycling Road
Defeated all trainers around Mauville
Challenged the Gym at least 7 times and lost each time
Grinded a bit
Challenged the Gym again

Wattson's Voltorb and Electrike were easy enough with Stomp
I had the most trouble with Magneton, it being a Steel type
I managed to use Headbutt enough times to defeat it
A combination of Attract and Sing helped Luna take down Manetric

Saved the Meteorite from Team Magma and returned it to Prof. Cosmo

Easiest Gym battle yet

I used Luna to finish her Torkoal

I beat Cheren today in my Electric B2 Monotype. It was pretty easy, Mareep x2 did a number on him and let's just say, this was much easier than when I had to use Purrloin in my last challenge.

Don't worry, you're fine.

I will add this to the first post soon, but Dream Radar, and all external means of obtaining Pokemon (Dream World, Pokewalker) are acceptable as long as they are used with the game you are playing. No catching a Pokemon in Dream Radar and trading it in.

Normal Monotype: Hoenn: Update #7

I'm really not in the mood to post everything specifically I did.
I followed the story, doing the Team Aqua stuff and what not.
Challenged Tate and Liza in Mossdeep.

I had trouble with them at first because of Xatu's Psychic
I got a CH on Xatu, and the rest were easy
A combination of Luna's Faint Attack and Glow's Faint Attack brought down Lunatone and Solrock

After Tate and Liza, I went to the Underwater Cavern and defeated Archie
I went to Sky Pillar and woke Rayquaza, ending the fight between Kyogre and Groudon.
Challenged the Sootopolis Gym

All of Juan's Pokemon were fairly easy, with the exception of his STUPID KINGDRA SPAMMING DOUBLE TEAM!
After Kingra used Double Team around 5/6 times, it looked over for me. I had only Echo left at this point.
Giving up, I started hopelessly attacking with Hyper Beam.
Luckily, I somehow managed to get a CRITICAL HIT HYPER BEAM on his evasive Kingdra, sealing Juan's fate.
Moving into Victory Road and the Elite Four now.

Alright, time for an update!

- Started game. My name is MASTER. In caps. My rival's name is BOB. In caps.

- Picked Chimchar as starter to use for now.

- I looked it up, and it turns out that there are no dark types available before the 3rd gym.

- Traded in an egg from Soulsilver, which hatched into Murkrow, which is in the regional Pokedex of Sinnoh. Nickname: Mistress

- Mistress the Murkrow barely survives the first gym, and finally succeeds with the help of many Potions.

- Mistress gets serious grinding being my only Pokemon and all.

- Mistress completely pwns second and third gyms.

- We make it to Veilstone City, where I catch a Houndour. Nickname: Lucian.

- Lucian evolves into Houndoom right away.

- Currently, Lucian and I are in the grinding process. Here's my team so far:

This is incorrect. Eevee, which evolves into Umbreon, is available before the third gym. HOWEVER! The Pokemon you traded is version exclusive to Diamond and in your Regional Dex, so you didn't break any rules.

Yes, you can. There's really no restrictions on that. As long as it's movesets and ability are legal.

Small update.

After beating Roark I spoke to Barry then headed back to Jubilife.
Beat some Galactic Grunts to help out Prof. Rowan and Dawn.
Went through the little cave north of Jubilife and saved.
Will continue playing in a bit.

@NecrumWarrior, I'm really loving those Psycho Rangers. :)

After clearing the Shadow Pokemon Lab, I took Granbull to Agate Village to be purified! She was named Bella after the ceremony. I cleared all the rounds in Pyrite Colosseum and cleared Area 7 of Mt. Battle. I did some moveset changes as well. Taught Noctis Psychic, Calypso Thunder and Protect, and Bella got Earthquake and Brick Break. Awesome stuff, and proved to be very helpful! I went to the newly completed Realgam Tower only to find all the Cipher Admins waiting to fight me. After clearing them with relative ease, I Snagged three more Shadow Pokemon before going to the top of Realgam Tower. I was locked into a Colosseum gauntlet against four. Then I fought Nascour. But surprise, surprise! He's not the real boss. It was the Mayor of Phenac all along! It was a tough fight, but we pulled through a lot better than I was expecting. We haven't missed a Shadow Pokemon yet! Next time, I'll be swapping out Calypso for a new party member from Emerald! Who will it be? Find out then!
