Alright, there are a couple of reasons why I haven't started my new monotype yet. First off , I already have a Solo challenge up right now and second, I have high school, so it will be a while longer until I start. I apologize for no updates. However, hopefully, I can get started in the future. Maybe it's possible I'll finally get started within today or tomorrow. I know high school hasn't started yet either, but it will hamper my time with these challenges when it does start. I hope you all understand that. XD Anyways, I'll try to get a good update for this challenge for the lack of playing this challenge.

    Unova Bug, update 3

After a long vacation where i would have finished this challenge if Fire Emblem: Awakening was not so amazing, im back with my second to last update.

    - In preparation for Skyla both Blockhead and Webz evoled
    - Now a Galvantula, Webs soloed Skyla
    - Drayden was pretty challenging, odd Swimmer guy not so
    - Colress was the closest battle yet, hyper potions and low health Reversals for Charles saving the day
    - Ghetsis was reasonably hard, but nothing outstanding happened to my memory
    - Now in victory road

    Team:

    Beleafe, the lv. 55 Leavanny
    542.png

Leaf Blade, X-Scissor, Swords Dance, Slash
"Only still really useful in cases where it is possible to set up Swords Dance"

    Stampede, the lv. 54 Scolipede
    545.png

    Megahorn, Toxic, Bulldoze, X-Scissor
"Lacks the coverage to lead the team, but has Megahorn to give him the highest base damage output of the team, while being quite tough at the same time"

    Blockhead, the lv. 54 Crustle
    558.png

    Rock Slide, Bulldoze, X-Scissor, Toxic
"Falls flat on the ground once in a while, but generally a reliable type covering and tanking option"

    Charles, the lv. 55 Escavalier
    589.png

Iron Head, X-Scissor, Reversal, Swords Dance
"This guy is absolutely amazing. Anything anyone can do, Charles can do better (Exeption of course being Blockheads firefighting)"

    Webz, the lv. 55 Galvantula
    596.png

Signal Beam, Discharge, Volt Switch, Charge Beam
"Sucked *** when i first got him, but then he evolved and suddenly spiked to the top of the team. Now he is a mid-tier guy that thrives on niches like Charge Beam and being the only special attacker."

Hey guys, I just wanted to post a half-update. I realize I haven't updated in a little while, but that's because I've been discouraged from playing on emulators ever since I tried to play Crystal and it lagged alot more than normal. Don't worry, I should still be able to do the challenge and I should be getting a new, better computer sometime soon. Anyways, here's my update.

    Update 1.5: Not Much

    What happened:

  • I'll do a monotype.

    Username: Blazing Shadows
    Type: Normal
    Challenge: Single
    Game: Pokemon White (1)
    - - - - - - - - - -
I've made progress already, by the way:

    · I picked the female trainer and named her Sappy.
    · Picked an Oshawott, named it Neptune, and boxed it.
    · I lost to Bianca, but won against Cheren.
    · Got the PokeDex and some Poke Balls from Juniper.
    · Proceeded to catch a female Lillipup (Lady) at Lv. 3 and a male Patrat (Scout) at Lv. 4. I trained them both to Lv. 10 before proceeding.
    · I won against N and his Purrloin.
    · I caught a Purrloin of my own to learn Cut.
    · Trained some more, fought Bianca as revenge for earlier, went to the Dreamyard, and finally Lady evolved in to a Herdier. Afterwards, I took on the gym and won on my first try.
    · I saved the little girl's Pokemon and then caught a Pidove I nicknamed Dark Pit (...'cause I can).
    · I'm currently preparing for Lenora for a normal type showdown.
    - - - - - - - - - -
    Currently, my Pokemon are:

    1) Lady the Herdier, Level 17, Careful nature
    Ability: Intimidate
    Moves:
    Rock Smash
    Bite
    Take Down
    Leer

    2) Scout the Patrat, Level 17, Quirky nature
    Ability: Run Away
    Moves:
    Tackle
    Crunch
    Sand-Attack
    Detect

    3) Dark Pit the Pidove, Level 16, Gentle nature (lol. This goes against the Kid Icarus character himself)
    Ability: Big Pecks
    Moves:
    Air Cutter
    Quick Attack
    Leer
    Growl

Already done a single fighting on Emerald so all the singles will probably build up to an ultimate, but I'll be doing different types here and there so it will be a while.

  • Given that I have a few challenges ongoing, I'm probably gonna post a fair bit of updates, not only from my Grass UMC, but from my Flying and Bug challenge, as well. Here follows my first update from the Emerald run of my Flying UMC. (In the top post, it says that I'm three badges into Hoenn on this challenge, and I have no idea why, I haven't ever posted a Hoenn update from my Flying UMC)

    Type: Flying
    Badges: 1
    Game: Emerald

Obviously, the game has just started. I've been spending a decent amount of time soft resetting for a well-natured Wingull and a well-natured Taillow. Then I plowed through the woods and arrived at Petalburg City. Roxanne proved easy enough. I used X Special on Wingull, then sweeped her team with just Water Gun.

  • I finally defeated my Rival and finished LeafGreen.
I don't really feel like making a lot post, so I just say I caught a Magneton in the Power Plant and I got all the gym badges.

Okay, so Brawly was a complete pushover. Taillow took him out singlehandedly. Moving on from Slateport to Mauville, both Wingull and Taillow evolved, and we felt more or less ready to take on Wattson. But goddammit, that guy was a pain! Eventually, I succeeded after purchasing a bunch of X Attacks and one Dire Hit. I had Swellow use Double Team a few times, had her paralyzed by his Voltorb, giving her a much needed Guts boost, and then I was able to take out his entire team with Quick Attack. Hell, even Magneton. But that was a crazy battle.

Ultimate Monotype Challenge Bug, Unova part, Final update

    - Fought my way through what i at the end decided was my favorite Victory Road yet

    VS Marshall

    - The hardest fight of the 4. It took the entire team, almost even Jimmy the lv 31 Skorupi i had caught to fill the 6th slot.

    VS Shauntal
    - Webz and Beleafe, the squishy sweepers of the team took this fight without major problems

    VS Caitlin and Grimsley
    - Bug moves, Megahorn in particular, cut through them like butter

    VS Iris
    - Took me several tries because of missing and flinch-hax.
    - The only fight in the entire game that required me to use a Revive mid-fight.
    - Druddigon with Flamethrower was a pain in the butt
    - Megahorn OP
    - Finished the fight low-HP Charles and only little Jimmy in reserve

Entered the Hall of Fame, completing my first ever UMC

    Team:

Beleafe, the lv. 59 Leavanny Early-game MVP
    542.png

Leaf Blade, X-Scissor, Swords Dance, Slash
    Stat-leads: None
"Held up the team at the beginning of the game, then started to fall off. In the E4 she only softened up some targets to then get OHKO'ed"

Stampede, the lv. 60 Scolipede E4 MVP, Champion MVP
    545.png

    Megahorn, Toxic, Bulldoze, Double Edge
    Stat-leads: Speed
"High speed Megahorn alone wrecked the E4 and the first 1½ of the champions pokemon. Averagely usefull most of the game, to suddenly crash the charts at the end!"

    Blockhead, the lv. 54 Crustle
    558.png

    Rock Slide, Bulldoze, X-Scissor, Toxic
    Stat-leads: Defence
"Rock moves where really useful in a lot of situations. Ended the game as "The guy that is not OHKO'ed by [Long list of pokemon]""

Charles, the lv. 55 Escavalier Late-game MVP, Overall MVP
    589.png

Iron Head, X-Scissor, Reversal, Swords Dance
Stat-leads: HP, Attack, Special Defence, Overall
"Just look one line up. It speaks for itself"

    Webz, the lv. 55 Galvantula
    596.png

Signal Beam, Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Charge Beam
    Stat-leads: Special Attack, Speed
"High speed and damage made him perfect for picking off what Stampede left behind after his stampedes ended. Also played the second part of the "Beleafe does one attack and dies, leaving the rest to clean up" combo for difficult targets"

    Honorable mention:

    Jimmy, the lv 31 Skorupi
    451.png

    Strength, Cut, Flash
"In a fight i ended up losing against Marshall, he outsped and killed the Conkeldurr that had taken down the rest of the team XD"

After defeating Wattson and making it to Fallarbor Town, I caught a new team member; Skarmory. Not long after that, I caught another team member; Swablu. We then grinded for a while and moved on, chased Team Magma off Mt. Chimney and challenged Flannery. She was a joke. Pelipper OHKOd almost her entire team with Water Gun. Torkoal took two hits.
