This is a twist on the pokemon nuzlocke challenge!
Credits for this do go to Marriland (Youtuber).​

Rules.
1. FAINTED POKEMON ARE DEAD
When a Pokemon faints, it must be released forever (or boxed permanently). It is considered to be dead.

2. ONLY CATCH THE 1ST ELIGIBLE POKEMON IN AN AREA.
You can catch or obtain only the first eligible obtainable Pokemon you encounter in any route or area, with exceptions being made based on the Pokemon's gender. Fail to catch it and you get nothing for the area.
• Genderless Pokemon cannot be caught. Ever.
• If you have 1, 3, or 5 Pokemon in your party, you ignore any Pokemon encounters whose gender you have an uneven number of, e.g. if you have just one male Pokemon and two female Pokemon, you cannot catch any more female Pokemon until the count is even again. If you have an even number of each gender, this does not apply.
• "Dupes Clause" is recommended, to add to the uniqueness of each Pokemon. This means you do not count any encounter against any Pokemon whose species you have already caught, which is usually determined by the Poke Ball symbol by their HP bar.

3. ALL POKEMON MUST BE NICKNAMED
This is to increase the bond between you and your Pokemon. They're not just randoms; they're your friends. Treat them accordingly.

4. YOUR POKEMON ARE "PARTNERED" WITH EACH OTHER AND FIGHT IN PAIRS
• Only one male and one female can form a pair, and once they do, it lasts until one dies or is released.
• Each Pokemon on your team can battle only alongside its partner, if it has one. Switching Pokemon out in battle is allowed, but ONLY for the Pokemon's partner.
• If a Pokemon dies in battle, its partner must avenge the fallen Pokemon or die along with them; switching to any other Pokemon is forbidden, regardless of circumstance. (In the case of Double or Triple Battles, you may have to make exceptions. Do what feels right.)
• If a Pokemon's partner dies, it can gain a new one that doesn't already have a partner (either from a PC box or a wild Pokemon)

5. YOU CANNOT DEPOSIT POKEMON TO YOUR PC
• You must release Pokemon or have them die in battle if you want to withdraw anything in your PC.
• You can freely release your Pokemon (up to you if it counts as a "death" or not), but you will probably feel like a jerk for doing it.
• If you absolutely require HM moves to get through the game, you may temporarily break this rule and deposit a pair of Pokemon in the PC for one or two HM Pokemon; however, they cannot fight or do anything other than use HM moves outside of battle, and should be removed as soon as one of your main Pokemon can use the required HM move.

You can only buy a certain number pokeballs per town.
You must only use Pokeballs to catch pokemon.
You cannot catch legendary pokemon.
You may not heal outside the use of Pokémon Centers and moves such as Softboiled.
You may not heal outside of healing items and moves such as Softboiled.
You may not heal outside of battle.

My Adventure

~Choose torchic
~Did intro and got pokedex and pokeballs
~Caught Zigzagoon, coupled with my Torchic now.
~Caught Poochyena
~Caught Lotad
~Caught Wurmple
~Wurmple evolved into silcoon
~Caught shroomish
~Fought Roxanne with no problems
~Silcoon evolved into Beautifly
~Caught Whismur
~Did some grinding and accidently ran into trainer with my weak Lotad in front, he died and so did Poochyena
~Went to Dewford, fought Brawly, Caught Magikarp and Makuhita
~Delivered letter to Steve, went back to Rustboro for exp. share so i could give it to magikarp
~Stopped team aqua in Slateport then caught an electrike
~Beautifly died in battle against rival
~Replaced Beautifly with Elecktrike, now paired with shroomish.
~Made it to Mauville went north to fight the steven's family, shroomish and elecktrike die.
~Do some grinding and fight Wattson, no causalities surprisingly.
~Magikarp evolved into Gyarados.
~My next two first encounters are Numel so I just run as I have my fire type.
~Caught Spinda
~Caught Swablu
~Fight team magma
~Caught Spoink and Makuhita dies so Spoink forms a new pair with Gyarados
~Arrived in Lavaridge

That update wasn't my best, but I played a while ago and just haven't updated so it's hard to remember what all happened. Also I find this about as easy as a nuzlocke, except the switching in part bugs me, it makes it hard to switch train before I got the exp. share.

Sweet ^^ then without further ado, i shall post my first update, since i made it to the 1st gym :)

- began the game and picked female, named her Sylvie :D

So, my mother said that the professor had been looking for me, like a good little child i went to find him, hoping to get a free pokemon out of it out of the goodness of my heart. I looked high and low but i swear he wasnt anywhere in town, so i decided to try to leave to see if he was studying in the field

Suddenly a wild Professor Oak appears, telling me i couldn't leave because there were dangerous pokemon out there wanting to kill me and it was unsafe without one of my own. He then practically dragged me back to his lab by the collar of my shirt...but seriously where had he appeared from? That annoying grandson of his, Phil, was also at the lab waiting for him, it seems Oak had summoned the both of us. It seems the old man was going to shove the task of fulfilling his life goal onto us, well he WAS giving me a pokemon and sending me on a journey so i can't really complain.

Seems Phil is getting sent on a journey too, seems a little unnecessary if you ask me, but at least i got first pick from the pokemon available >P. People call him my 'rival' but since we were kids hes done nothing but pick on me and steal my candy...though in hindsight i suppose i did steal the love of his grandfather..

I received Rima the timid squirtle from the prof. I was just about to leave when Phil insists we battle it out. Seems he chose bulbasaur, must have thought he could win through type advantage. It was about time Rima and i put him in his place and demonstrate our skills! Rima's hard shell and well timed critical hits meant that his bulbasaur hardly touched us, poor Phil got his first pokemon killed on its very first battle, while i did feel a little guilty about it, i had to do it to protect Rima!

Decided to explore the dangers outside of town and toughen Rima up a bit, Viridian seemed like a good place to head to, and it was conveniently nearby, all i needed to do was get through the ridiculously overgrown paths..you'd think for a well used road someone would have taken better care of it. On the way a store clerk saw me and gave me a free potion! He says its a promotional offer but..i think i saw him checking me out. i think i'll go check out the pokemart he worked at to complain. Standing in a deserted road, giving out free items to young ladies such as myself with a creepy grin on his face...its suspicious enough to send him to jail :D

So i reached Viridian city and marched straight into the pokemart intending to give them a piece of my mind, or atleast that was the plan. Im not sure exactly what happened, those guys are very good at their trade, because i somehow ended up agreeing to deliver a package to the prof.
It was a pain walking back to pallet, but i got to train Rima some more. When i finally delivered the package to Oak, he made it worth my time by giving me a pokedex and some pokeballs, now i'll really be able to get stronger and dominate the world keep Phil in his place

- Phil started acting like a jerk again, so i went to his house and stole a map

Caught Ace the rash pidgey, and noticed him and Rima giving each other the eye, so i decided to let the two of them get married. It was an awkward ceremony, Rima was too nervous and scared to walk down the aisle at first, and Ace kept wanting to skip to the 'i do's'....It was a short lived marriage however, Ace was assassinated shortly after during training by a rattata who one-hit him after spamming tail whip. A heart broken Rima avenged him with fury in her eyes. Still mourning her lost love, Rima completely destroyed any pokemon we came across on our way back to viridian, where we gave Ace his burial

Decided to do some training of route 22 to help get Rima's mind back in the game, this is where i found out Rima was your typical girl! She became quite smitten with a strong looking rattata that we stumbled across. A Rattata! The same species that killed her first love! I swallowed my bitterness, and for the sake of my darling squirtle, caught Dexter the naive rattata. the two quickly got married, Dexter seemed unaware of Rima's previous relationship, but perhaps it was better that way

Bumped into Phil on route 22, seems he'd found himself another bulbasaur..its a shame i'm going to have to make him relieve his first loss, but he DID start this battle. We mopped the floor with him, Rima took out his pesky pidgey without too much trouble, and displayed excellent team work skills with Dexter, who quite happily slaughtered that grass type on Rima's behalf

Caught Vivi the modest weedle on route 2 - she'll be a great asset in viridian forest, if i can keep her alive i wont need to buy any antidotes! Entered viridian forest in search of a partner for Vivi, it felt too dangerous to train her without a partner to support her, but we mainly just found other weedles and females..we even came across a pikachu..but i think we should change the name of viridian forest to female forest, since they didnt interest Vivi at all :3

Came across a male caterpie!.. but Dexter hit it too hard with his quick attack..guess Vivi will have to wait until shes older to get married, so i decided to go ahead and train her. Training Vivi in this forest without a partner was tough, it often came down to a poison sting match between another weedle and herself. After a very ungraceful match against bug catcher sammy's weedle, where we were forced to win with 'struggle' Vivi evolved into a kakuna!

My team and i finally made it through the forst and emerged in pewter city, after briefly healing up at the pokecenter i made a beeline for the gym, Rima's skills were all i needed here, she completly decimated brock and his apprentice's pokemon, earning ourselves our first badge
- Rima jumped from lvl 13 to lvl 15 thanks to her success
- saved the game for now
