Looking forward to The Dark Night Rises, even if I don't really find Bane to be the best choice of villain. I can't say I'm too bothered about any other movies coming out next year... At least not enough that I can instantly recall them. I'll probably go to watch The Hobbit and maybe the new Bourne and Ice Age films, though. Just for an excuse to go to the movies.

Men In Black could be interesting, but it's probably something I'll just rent when it comes out on Blu Ray. Snow White intrigued me at first but then... Kristen Stewart...

I was looking forward to 2012. Thought it would be a great year for the film industry. Looking at it now, though, I'm not entirely sure why.

I am so incredibly excited for The Dark Knight Rises, it's going to be my most looked forward to film of the year. That and the re-release of Titanic in 3D. I can't wait for both of those films to come out omg
I sincerely hope that Anne Hathaway doesn't screw up her role as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, I will be very disappointed in her if she does.

Lincoln comes out this year? I had no idea. I'll add that too the list for sure, I can't believe IMDB doesn't have the Hobbit or Lincoln listed yet. Those are sure fire choices for me.

    The Hunger Games

AWWW just mentioning them gets me pumped ^.^ I never actually finished The Hobbit novel so I'm excited to see how it ends!

IMDb has it listed here broseph. Release date is December 14th.

Pretty excited for The Dark Knight Rises, I don't care if there are a bunch of Bane haters, he looks like he will be an exceptional villain. Although I don't know if it will meet my expectations of being as good as Dark Knight since Heath Ledger did an absolute perfect job for the Joker. And the movie overall was just amazing. So it will be pretty hard to live up to that.

The Avengers I am looking forward to since the promo at Captain America and of course since 2008 since we saw Samuel L. Jackson at the end of Ironman credits.

Hobbit definitely looking forward to it. Also looking forward to The Expendables 2 in August.

  • After having a cursory look at this list of upcoming films, I'm excited for:

    • The Grandmasters: Because I love Wong Kar-Wai and In The Mood for Love is one of the best films ever made and it's Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi and I'm going to hyperventilate with happiness when I see it!
    • Only God Forgives: Because while Drive didn't completely hold up in my eyes, it had three or four of the best cinematic sequences last year. With the same team coming back for more, I'm there!
    • This is Forty: The Leslie Mann/Paul Rudd pairing was definitely the best bit of Knocked Up, and to see them return in this quasi-but-not-really-sequel should be really interesting to come back to.
    • Untitled Terrence Malick Project: Because it's a Terrence Malick project. I'm 5-for-5 on him so far, and don't want to lose my batting average. (Is that the right term? Baseball metaphors confuse me.)
    • The Great Gatsby: Because Luhrrman sounds insane for shooting this in 3D and even though I run hot and cold on Leo, I still reeeeeally want to see what this is going to look like.
    • The Amazing Spider-Man: Because Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone >>>>>>>>>> Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. And I didn't like any of the previous ones, so hopefully this'll go in a nice new direction.
    • Prometheus: Although I prefer Aliens to Alien, it'll be interesting to see what Ridley Scott does with this premise 30 years on. And look at that cast!
As well as a few of the films mentioned by Livey, and Butter - this dark comedy about people who sculpt stuff out of... wait for it... butter, starring Jennifer Garner - that's what I'm looking forward to this year.

  • Brave should be amazing. It's Pixar so I have very high expectations. This is my current #1 must-see.

Snow White and the Huntsman is something I'll see because I'm a sucker for fairy tales. I'll also want to see MIB III because I like Will Smith. Skyfall I'll also see because Daniel Craig's doing a great job as James Bond so it should be entertaining.

I'll probably see The Hobbit, The Hunger Games, and the Batman movie just because everyone will and I'll feel left out if I don't.

I'd like to see Anna Karenina, but it has Keira Knightly in it and that's almost as bad as having your movie star Orlando Bloom. I don't know why they keep putting her in period movies. She doesn't suit them at all.

Oh, and of course I have to see what they do with the last Twilight movie. Hopefully it won't feel like nothing at all happens in it like the last one did.

  • There is many I've seen advertised that I'd like to see but I just can't list them.. assuming they make it I'm a big fan of the Paranormal Activity series so a fourth would be great in October.

Why do they even put Keira Knightly in movies period. (Well, I don't like her at all, I don't know about you)
I'd like to see Anna Karenina as well, but I don't know if I'll be able to force myself to go to the cinema and sit through Keira Knightley for two hours or so. Of course, I would be delighted to go if a miracle happened and she suddenly became a good actress.

  • I've also heard some rumors about spielberg's movie about Abraham Libcoln, With Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln and Jared Harris as Ulysses S. Grant. Cannot even explain how psyched for that movie I am.

  • No Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance?
Er, no. The only Nicholas Cage movie that I'm looking forward to is Frank or Francis... not a Ghost Rider sequel.

    You are CORRECT, sir.

  • The Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers are the two I'm most looking forward to, and to a lesser extent The Hobbit (mostly because it looks unintentionally hilarious - sorry LOTR fans but I am doing it for the lulz).

I went and saw The Iron Lady today (for some reason it came out here on December 26 - for once being in Australia is useful, go figure) and it was absolutely magnificent! If this is any indicator of 2012 in film, it's going to be an amazing year. Then again Meryl Streep alone is enough to make a movie supreme quality, so it might be a skewed sample. Just... there is nobody who can become a character quite like Meryl Streep.
