Finished Ruby.

• Did New Mauville, taught Thunderbolt to Glider, then made my way to Fortree.
• Dolly evolved into Claydol, and I got Fly.
• Beat Winona easily with Dolly's Ice Beam.
• Went down to Lilycove, then to Mt. Pyre, where I caught Paladin the Meditite.
• Taught Paladin Bulk Up, Return, and Shadow Ball.
• Got the Red Orb from the top, then saw the sub stolen in Slateport.
• Beat up the Team Magma Hideout in Lilycove, then Surfed to Mossdeep. Paladin evolved into Medicham.
• Beat Tate and Liza easily with Shadow Ball + Ice Beam.
• Dove underwater and beat up Team Magma. Beat Maxie as well.
• Groudon flew off, so I surfed to Sootopolis and killed him. Taught Paladin Brick Break.

Ultimate Fire Challenge; SoulSilver Update (unsure of which number at this point)

Spoiler:

-Collected my SS Anne ticket and boarded the SS Anne.
-Did that little side plot where you have to find the man's granddaughter or whatever.
-Arrived in Vermilion.
-Not wanting to collect my badges just yet, I explored the Eastern side of Kanto.
-Caught a few Pokemon for my Pokedex and waited for night to fall. When it did, I started my hunt for a Houndour.
-It was a long, painful hunt, but I caught one.
-Then I found a shiny one. And I decided to use it instead. It's so shiny. ~
-Got tired of having an unevolved Vulpix, so transferred a few Pokemon over from Leafgreen for the sole purpose of migrating a fire stone over. Used the fire stone to evolve Vulpix into Ninetales. (FINALLY)
-Headed back to Vermilion and trained my Houndour along the way.
-Defeated Lt. Surge with Typhlosion. Collected my badge.
-I collected my Kanto badges a bit out of order, so after Lt. Surge, instead of going to Saffron, I headed for Celadon. Ericka was too easy. Collected my badge and left. (... I still haven't really explored Celadon. Must make note to do so.) Actually, I don't have this one yet. I got confused with LG. That is what happens when you haven't slept in 24 hours. >.>;
-Arrived in Fushia. Collected my badge there, too.
-Houndour was under training the entire time.
-Continued training Houndour in preparation for Saffron's gym.
-Did all the Cerulean stuff. I'm far too lazy to go through it all. (The power plant, the Lavender thing, the Rocket member from another country, etc.)
-Battled Misty, collected my badge.
-Houndour evolved into Houndoom.
-Headed back for Saffron. Defeated Sabrina, collected my badge.
-Woke up Snorlax, defeated him after getting aggravated trying to catch him (for the page in my dex) and continued through Diglett's cave.
-Headed toward Pallet Town, spoke to Professor Oak.
-Headed back toward Viridian. Made my way through Viridian forest, arrived in Pewter City.
-Challenged Brock. With Ninetales and Typhlosion, it was an easy win.
-Made my way to Mt. Moon.
-Challenged by Rival. It was an easy win.

I tried not playing favouritism- because I did while playing LeafGreen and my Charizard ended up getting most of the attention because of it- but I found it impossible. Generally, I hate the Houndour/doom line... but I'm actually finding myself loving it right now. Guess it's just refreshing to have a Pokemon that is dual typed again.

After defeating Brock, I head to Route 3, where a lot of trainers lie. Now...time to own them all, but while I was battling thrainers Buddy finally evolved into an Ivysaur. Yay! Now, I'm at Mt. Moon, but I'll cut it short here.


This concludes this chapter of my Grass Ultimate Monotype Challenge.

I might hack in another Grass type so I could catch it in Mt. Moon. Something I like. You'll have to wait and see.

-Trained along the way. Arrived in said place, spoke to Blue. Resisted urge to smack the arrogant look off his face.
-Surfed toward Seafoam Island, entered the gym.
-Challenged Blaine. This was an easy win with Typhlosions Earthquake.
-Collected my badge and headed back to Cinnabar (that's its name!)
-Spoke to Blue again, he left for Viridian.
-Flew to Viridian.
-Challenged Blue. Moderately easy win. A few of his Pokemon gave me a bit of a run for my money, but it wasn't too difficult or anything.
-Collected my badge.
-Went to Pallet Town, collected Rock Climb.
-Headed for Mt. Silver.
-Climbed Mt. Silver. Found Red.
-Challenged Red, lost.
-Challenged Red, lost.

-Challenged Red once more with a bit of a strategy to get past his Pikachus Volt Tackle. (That item that prevents 1 hit K.O.s ... whatever it's called.) Defeated Pikachu with Earthquake, defeated Blastoise by using a lot of Max Revives, Hyper Potions, and Crunch's, defeated Lapras out of sheer luck (no... really...), defeated Snorlax using Earthquake and a lot of Max Revives, defeated Venusaur with no problem at all and Explosion, defeated Charizard out of sheer luck and Hyper Beams. And I beat Red. So, I guess that means I'm done with Johto. HOOZAH!

So, Typhlosion was a freaking power house through most of the game. In situations where I needed someone who could attack, attack, attack!!! I used her. This made her my most used through the Pokemon League. Houndoom was more of a skilful type Pokemon, I think. He became my favorite on the team, but Typhlosion was still more trusted for an outright attack based strategy. However, Houndoom got the job done, as well. Ninetales... bless him... but he wasn't my favorite this time around. He was decent with Special Defence but other than that... Just wasn't my favorite. I shall be starting Hoenn between now and tomorrow. I can't believe I actually beat Red with this team!!

Carrie's Charizard was a pain to battle when he challenged me outside of the Pokemon League. He was very Fire Blast happy and, if my memory is correct, I defeated him with a combination of OpiumPoppy's Reflect and Mandragora's Wrap. Defeating Carrie's Charizard when he became the champion was MUCH easier. He continually used Fire Spin, which basically had no effect at all, because he was under the effects of Oleander's Leech Seed. Fire Spin did very little damage, even against my Grass-type, so the energy I got at the end of every turn was enough to bring me back to 100% health.​

APRIL 21 2011
My sweet, sweet Jumpluff is incredibly weak. ;A; This wasn't a problem until recently. Before, Chamomile was great at defeating teams using a stall method. I'd have her use Sleep Powder, then Leech Seed, then Flash as many times as possible. Now, she can still take a hit but she doesn't last long after that. :/ However, so far all of the boss battles have not been very difficult. I'm waiting for Gina to call and offer me a Leaf Stone so that I can evolve an Oddish I have in the daycare into Vileplume. Mint continues to be awesome, and Rosehip has exceeded my expectations. I thought Rosehip was going to be the weakest link but she's actually quite tough. My only complaints are her lack of moves. Her movepool is very bland in Gen II. I could have taught Rosehip Sludge Bomb when she was a Gloom, but I didn't get that TM until after I had evolved her. u__u I plan to teach her Giga Drain after beating Erika.

IT'S FINALLY OVER. x__x Kanto is such a drag the second time around. :/ I rushed through all the gyms with just three Pokemon because Gina never gave me a Leaf Stone. After getting all 18 badges, Red kept kicking my ass so I challenged the E4 two more times... but it wasn't enough to survive Charizard's attacks. I was too impatient to challenge the E4 again so I just gave Jumpluff a quick claw and used my Sleep Powder/Leech Seed/Flash spam strategy to beat literally over half of his team. Charizard, Espeon, Snorlax, and Blastoise fell victim to this annoying tactic. The weakest member on my team beat the strongest Pokemon on Red's team. It just goes to show you that Pokemon really isn't just about brute strength.​

Ultimate Fire Challenge - Emerald, Update 1

Spoiler:

-Started game, named self Lloyd as I did in the last two games, did the beginning stuff.
-Collected my starter, a Torchic.
-Went to battle May, Torchic grew a level along the way.
-Battled May, won. (even though her Mudkip critical hit me... I was so glad I collected my Potion from the shop guy before battling her.)
-Headed back to Newbark Littleroot. (... I am starting to get these games mixed up. XD )
-Left for my journey.
-Arrived in Petalburg.
-Helped Wally catch his Raltz.
-Left Petalburg.
-Made my way through the Petalburg woods. Battled the Aqua grunt.
-Arrived in Rustboro.
-Trained Torchic a bit.
-Torchic evolved into Combusken.
-Challenged Roxane. With Combusken on my side, the win was very easy. Collected my badge.
-DS battery died, so I picked up some AA batteries and for the ultimate experience started playing on my GBA. (unfortunately, this means I can't take pictures for now since the GBA's screen resolution isn't as bright. I will get pictures of the badges I earn, though, as soon as my DS is done charging. xD )
-Did the Devon side plot thing.
-Battled May again, won.
-Left for Dewford.
-Challenged Brawly. With Combusken and Peck, it was an easy win. Collected my badge and headed toward the cave.
-Collected my flash HM, taught it to my HM slave- NO the Nincada (lol... accidentally nicknamed her, was too lazy to name her Nincada).
-Delivered the thing to Steven.
-Prepared to leave Dewford.
