Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Fire, Grass).

Okay, so a couple things here.

First, I finished Crystal Fire.

• So I went from Mahagony Town, to the Pokemon League, where I beat the Elite Four and Lance (Lance was HARD).
• Then I sped through Kanto, evolving Legend into Arcanine at L50.
• Climbed Mt. Silver and found Red, and defeated him.

Sorry, haven't found the desire to do this lately. I WILL finish this like I said, but just wanted to clarify why I haven't been updating. I might update tommorrow, no promises. Also, haven't started my other challenges yet because I'm sure I already have my hands full with this one :P

Poison UMC Sapphire Leg

After catching Mito III the Grimer, I continued with the story until Route 114, where I paused to catch a Seviper who I named Etzik. Etzik proved useful, and I defeated Team Aqua on Mt. Chimney. I then challenged the gym in Lavaridge, and Flanery's Torkoal had enough Special Defense to survive Bubblebeam. It went down from a combo of Wadrus' Sleep Powder and Tetrid III's Bubblebeam. I collected the Exp Share and I am training in the desert for Norman currently. My team is around level 29.

Update #2 on Black.

• Caught a Cottonee in Pinwheel Forest and traded it for Lillil the Petilil in Nacrene City, and also caught Watchman the Sewaddle.
• Cleared out Pinwheel Forest and headed to Castelia City.
• Beat the Battle Co., rescued Bianca's Munna, and took on Burgh.
• Burgh took a few tries (damn Whirlipede...), but I took care of him, mainly with Majesty.
• Headed north to Route 4 and the Desert Resort.
• Arrived in Nimbasa and got a Bike, then faced N.
• Lost a couple tines (Darumaka and Sigilyph were beating me) before taking him down.
• Took on the gym and was finally able to break through Bianca with Lillil's Sleep Powder/Growth setup and Giga Drain.
• North of Route 16, I found myself in Lostlorn Forest, where I got Joker the Cottonee.
• Went west to Route 5 and met Alder, then crossed the bridge to Driftveil City.
• Cleared out the Cold Storage and beat Clay easily. Watchman evolved into Leavanny.
• Beat Bianca, got Fly, then saved at the start of Route 6.

Normal Monotype Challenge Update #1

-Started Out, decided I was going to go with "Normal" names this time around
-Named Myself Bob
-Got Pikachu, fought my rival, Other.
-Delivered Oak's Parcel, received Pokedex
-Caught Norm the Rattata, and thanks to my emulators 3000% superspeed, trained to level 18
-Made it through Viridian Forest no problem.
-Fought Brock, I honestly thought this would be harder than it was. Used a couple Hyper Fangs on each one of his pokemon and only took 23 damage.
-Used superspeed on that route going right of Pewter, and missed Rattata evolving, but oh well. Now he's a Raticate.
-Mt. Moon was, again, no sweat. That is, until I got paralyzed. Raticate fainted and Pikachu soon after.
-This time around I didn't get paralyzed (Thank You!!) and made it through.
-Caught my second member, Greg the Spearow. Again, thanks to superspeed, trained him to level 20. I didn't miss this evolution :)
-Destroyed Other.

Normal Monotype Challenge Update #2

Hooray for a day with nothing to do!!

-Went up to Nugget Bridge and Greg took care of all those trainers
-Got offered to join Team Rocket, had they offered a cookie and instant promotion, I would have been there.
-Route 25 seemed to go very fast with Greg.
-Greg took care of Misty no problem, OHKO on Staryu, A little trouble with Starmie and it's defense, but not too bad.
-Got halfway through Route 6 with Greg, when I realized my next gym battle was Electric... that wouldn't work well.
-Trained Norm and Greg to LV.30
-Taught Norm Dig and Bubblebeam
-Fought my way around the S.S. Anne to Other. Norm took all his Pokemon out easily.
-Norm OKHO'ed Surge's Raichu with Dig.
-Got utterly confused on where I'm supposed to go now... Googled it:)
-After searching Google I got Squirtle and Charmander (Slaves!!)
-Easily made it through Rock Tunnel with one fatality. Poor Greg.
-Healed up and headed to Pokemon Tower

Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Fire).

Okay, so I was able to mutitask today, and continued my fire UMC on Ruby.

Name: Ash
Starter: Torchic (Blaze)

• Blaze soloed the first three gyms easily (I had Combusken before I beat Roxanne, lol).
• Caught Volcano the Numel just before Fiery Path, and started training him up.
• Cruised through Fallarbor Town and chased Team Magma up Mt. Chimney, beating Maxie at the top with a fully evolved Blaze.
• Hopped down to Lavaridge and crushed Flannery with Volcano's Magnitude.
• Explored the desert, then made my way back to Petalburg. Volcano evolved into Camerupt.
• Beat Norman easily with Blaze.
• Got Surf, and took the long way back to Slateport over the water.
• Did the new Mauville quest, then saved on Route 119 on the way to Fortree City.

Bug UMC- Fire red leg

I started with squirtle and got beaten by my rival (Karl). After traveling to viridian and delivered oaks parcel I got some pokeballs. I rushed to viridian forest and caught a weedle (Walter) and a caterpie (Charlie). After grinding I now have a Beedrill and a Butterfree. On to pewter now...

Normal Monotype Challenge Update #3

-Greg made easy work of Other
-Almost got through Pokemon Tower, only to get held up by a ghost
-Made my way to Celadon City
-Received an Eevee, for reasons unknown.
-Greg made Erika the... same as the other gyms, easy
-Found a hidden switch
-After battling countless Rattata's, Koffing's, Zubat's, and Ekans, I made it to Giovanni.
-Took him down very easily with Norm thanks to Bubblebeam (how does a mouse shoot bubbles??)
-Gave some guards a refreshment to get into Saffron as a shortcut to Lavender.
-Went through Pokemon Tower, again, and this time got rid of a ghost
-Fought Team Rocket (how many pokemon do they have!? i doubt Nurse Joy heals them)
-Stocked up on Pokeballs to catch a new addition to my team. Snorlax.
-Snorlax (Steve from now on) wasn't as hard to catch as thought. Only took 5 Great Balls and 12 Quick Attacks.
-Made my way to Fuchsia and headed straight to the Safari Zone for Kangaskhan.
-After many failed attempts (I think around 30) I finally managed to catch one, only to press "A" too many times to nickname it.
-Got 2 HM's Surf and Strength
-Mass Pokemon training to LV.45
-Took down Koga with Kangaskhan.
-Explored every corner of Silph Co.
-Greg took down Giovanni easily
-I'm starting to think I really like normal types, they have made EVERY gym easy. OHKO'ed Abra and Kadabra. 2HKO'ed Alakazam. 6 down, 2 to go.
-Rode on Squirtle for a little bit.
-Explored a creepy abondoned mansion
-My Digging rat took care of Blaine. I wonder if the other Generations will be this easy.
-Flew off into the sunset to battle ??? (We all know who it really is).
-Giovanni was a little more difficult than the others, but not too bad.
-Victory road. It is what it is.
-Mass pokemon training to LV.55
-Got bored of ^^ so I just took on the E4
-Had 2 fatalities each member, but survived.
-MVP goes to Kangaskhan. The time spent catching him paid off
-Recorded Hall of Fame.
-Closed up this section of my Challenge, of to Gen II

This is the fastest I have EVER beaten a Pokemon game. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Anyway, since I've already completed a flying monotype on Red, I'll just continue from there onto Crystal. I'm about to begin.

Here goes my Ultimate Fire Mono Challenge starting out on...Fire Red! :D

• Named myself David and my Rival Cody.
• Received my partner Charmander & named him Bronx.
• Got the Parcel & delivered it.
• Fought Cody's little baby team of a Pidgey & his stupid F'ing Squirtle.
• Went through Viridian Forest like nothing & Bronx evolved by the end of it.
• Realized how awesome Bronx is after the defeat of Brock caused by Bronx.
• Made my way to Mt. Moon with my snazzy new Running Shoes. ;D
• Got out of that stupid little cave. I MEAN "MOUNTAIN".
• Faced my lame Rival Cody & beat him, with the misfortune of seeing his stupid little turtle Pokemon. You guys really don't understand how much I dislike that Squirtle, man.
• Met Bill.
• Faced off against Misty about 15263243 times before actually beating her, despite Bronx being quite a few levels higher. D;
• Faced off against some Rocket punk, only for him to be destroyed by Bronx.
• Beat my way all the way to Vermillion city, regardless of how many trainers.

• Made my way through Rt. 6 to Chargestone Cave, where I caught Pokey the Ferroseed.
• Arrived in Mistralton City, and scaled the Celestial Tower.
• Took on Skyla and won thanks to Pokey's Rollout from the tutor.
• Got Surf from Alder, and explored Rts. 17-18 and Mistralton Cave.
• Made my way through Twist Mountain and got a second Sun Stone from a dust cloud, so now everyone was fully evolved.
• Arrived in Icurris City, and beat Brycen easily with Pokey's Rollout and Power Whip.
• Beat TP in the Dragonspiral Tower, then headed to Relic Castle, where I saved.

Right, I have decided that I am going to try and complete all the monotypes, like jdthebud and Myrrhman. I was gonna start playing my Black section of my electric UMC, but there is some problem. I beat the first gym, but when I started playing again, there was no save file. So I started again, and saved straight away, but it came up with "Save error" :(. Is there anyone who can help? (This is on DS, btw). Also, while I'm posting, I'm gonna say that I got through Silph on Grass UMC: Red section. In Saffron gym now (Beating Sabrina first). I'm gonna go a lot more slowly than jd or Myrrhman, because I'm doing it on actual games rather than Emulators. I get bored easy on Emulators, dunno why, just find it more fun on actual...
