Ultimate Ice Type Mono Updated (finished Crystal)

I finished this part two days ago, but I've been lazy. Once again I've been a bit of a speed demon ^-^'

Start- I hacked a Smoochum in and nicknamed it Hips again. I've decided to use Smoochum/Jynx as my starter all the way through. My starter was Chikorita so that my Rival would have Quilava.

Falkner- About this time my Smoochum was lv 16-18 and had just recently learned Powdered Snow. I finished this one quickly.

Bugsy- I progressed swimmingly and beat Bugsy using Powdered Snow again. Flying type on that Scyther was nice <3

Whitney- I used brute strength here. Mostly in the form of Powdered Snow. I had to use a Revive once because of Milktanks rollout :/

Morty- Hips had Confusion at the very least so all of Morty's half poisons went down easy.

Chuck- I took a detour and picked up Lapras and named it Prima again. I love Lapras <3 I taught Lapras Thunder and began training it. Lapras was used on Chuck, but it was Jynx (I had Smoochum evolve at lv 37 so it could learn Psychic naturally) who finished Poliwrath.

Jasmine- Lost to Prima's surf. Pretty easy battle.

Pryce- My favorite gym leader T^T I used Hips on the Dewgong and Prima on Piloswine.

Clair- I picked up a Swinub of my own <3 Best Ice type ever... and I evolved it into a Piloswine named Pryce ^-^ I used my Piloswine as a ground type rather than an Ice type. Out of all of the Ice types currently available, Piloswine has the highest attack. Clair was finished off easily by Prima.

    E4- (to be continued)

    Update for my Normal Challenge:
    - Stopped Team Rocket at the Radio Tower.
    - Went through the Ice Path.
    - Through research I discovered that I'm better off with Ursaring than Tauros. So, caught a Teddiursa and did some grinding to get my entire team to Lv43.
    - Beat Clair.
    - Got Master Ball from Prof. Elm
    - Went to Victory Road, fighting trainers on the way.
    - Beat Silver.
    - Now, I'm gonna grind my team a bit unnecessarily to Lv50, then face the Elite Four.

I am going to attempt the ice challenge! I will begin with pokemon yellow, and use a mod for Jynx (lvl 3) to start, if that is acceptable.

Right now I have completed the first 3 badges

    Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread

    - Sped through the credits, got the S.S Ticket, got on the ship, did that quest.
    - Got to Vermilion, but first I went up to Saffron to get TM29 (Psychic) for Girafarig.

I started, got Treecko, nicknamed it Scout, and then I defeated the Poochyena. After that, I trained it to Level 10, and then I beat Brendan.

And with only using Absorb on his Torchic! Haha!

    Update 2

    • Beat Brock! Nieds evolved into Nidorino! Double Kick wiped the floor with Brock's pokemon.
    • Fought my way to Mt. Moon. Caught a Sandshrew, named it Santorelli.
    • I forgot how ABSOLUTELY ANNOYING Mt. Moon is. Every step is a Zubat. Every. Single. Step. Santorelli got Paralyzed but a Paras, so I'm now wandering through the cave with a paralyzed, underleveled Sandshrew, and a Nidorina with well under half its HP left, and no potions. Ughhhhh.
    • Got me a Helix fossil :D doesn't matter though, because I can't use water- or rock-types on this challenge. Oh well.
    • And then the Team Rocket battle... I should note here that Santorelli is knocked out and Nieds has 12 HP left.
    • I survived Ekans and his Wrap that thankfully only lasted two turns. Double Kick took care of Meowth, and Horn Attack beat Koffing. So I barely escaped this fight.
    • Made it to Cerulean City! The upbeat music and blue hues are bringing me back. And a Pokemon Center never looked more appealing. Next update will be me against Misty.

    My Team:

    Nieds the Nidorino
    Level 22
    -Tackle
    -Poison Sting
    -Horn Attack
    -Double Kick

    Santorelli the Sandshrew
    Level 12
    -Scratch
    -Sand Attack

    - Went from Lavender to Fuchsia and fought the trainers.
    - Went down Cycling Road and fought the trainers.
    - Went to the Fuchsia Gym and with Ursaring, Janine's team fell very easily.

    - Went to Cerulean, then took care of the trainers north of Nugget Bridge.
    - Did the Power Plant quest, fighting trainers along the way.
    - Disrupted Misty's date, went to the gym, beat that gym.
    - Did the Copycat's Poke Doll thing, took the Magnet Train to Goldenrod so I could get Return and teach it to Girafarig.
    - Got EXPN Card, took care of Snorlax, went to Pewter City.

Now then, I'm making another update for my Ultimate Normal Challenge:
    - Went south through Viridian and Pallet town, fought trainers along the way.
    - Surfed to Cinnabar, fighting trainers, the surfed to Seafoam Islands and Fuchsia City fighting trainers.
    - Flew back to Cinnabar, healed, then went to Seafoam to get my Volcano Badge.
    - Flew back to Cinnabar, talked to Blue, then flew to Viridian and beat him.
Team is the same as the last update, with straight Lv61 across the board.

We have defeated the Elite Four again and then Red; Now I am on to Emerald. I can't use Jynx anymore :(. Well, I am not going to wait until Shoal Cave to obtain an ice pokemon. There are only two ice pokemon groups (Speal and Snorunt). I choose Speal. I will modify a level 5 in the game.

Since my last update for my Ultimate Normal Monotype Challenge:
    - Trained my team to Lv66 across the board.
    - Challenged Red, and after a long, hard battle which was close in the end... I lost.
    - Trained my team to Lv70 across the board.
    - Went back to Red, challenged him, and then I won after a difficult battle. I've always had trouble with Red ever since I first got Gold when I was like 10. My successful battle with Red can be viewed here.
    My final team:

Entry #2 for Grass Monotype on Blue:

After I beat Brock, I traveled to Mt. Moon, beating the Normal Types with vine whip and Bugs with tackle with my trusty Ivysaur. When I got in Mt. moon, I immediatly saw a Paras, which soon was fighting alongside Ivysaur. Paras couldn't stand up to the Zubat's, though, so it trained on the patch outside Mt. Moon. Later, when Paras was level 16, we went through Mt. Moon and got the Dome Fossil, though it probably will never be used. Ran into Misty's gym, owned Staryu with Paras and Starmie with Ivysaur. Got BubbleBeam and Cascade Badge. Beat my rival easy, though Pidgeotto killed Paras. Got through Nugget Bridge, and caught my next Pokemon, Bellsprout, though it can't really fight on its own like Paras was. Now we're trying to get through the trainers to Bill's house.

    Team so far:

    Ivysaur: Level 23
    Vine Whip
    Poison Powder
    Leech Seed
    Tackle

    Paras: Level 21
    Scratch
    Stun Spore
    Leech Life
    -

    Bellsprout: Level 13:(
    Vine Whip
    Growth
    Wrap

Alright, the first update for my Ultimate Normal Monotype for Ruby:
    - Chose Mudkip, did all the intro stuff, blah blah blah...
    - Caught a Zigzagoon, boxed Mudkip for future HM use.
    - Went through Route 102, did tutorial, caught a Taillow, went through Petalburg Woods.
    - Fought trainers on the way to Rustboro, healed, then caught a Whismur north of Rustboro. I also filled my last 3 slots with more Zigzagoons for the purpose of Pickup. I love Pickup.
    - Did some grinding to the north of Rustboro, then went to the gym... and lost to Roxanne.
    - Trained my team up to Lv20 each (which was helped by the Pickup'd Rare Candies).
    - Linoone soloed Roxanne.
    Team is now:
    Spoiler:

As before, I plan to make cuts to my 3-member team. Linoone and Taillow (Swellow eventually) have eventual fates as Cut and Fly slaves, respectively.

Wait, you can only use 3 pokemon?
you can use any team size you want, as long as you have 2 or more. some people find it easier to use less, as it is easier to train them (less exp to spread around). I am using a full party for my water challenge right now, as an example.
