... sorry about lack of updates.
as my Jynx is traded, I am having a hard time with it not obeying...
So The Ice Challenge is stuck.

Rock is obviously going nowhere. Ive been drilling for maybe 2 days total.
I'm going to restart my rock challenge (sinnoh), playing on an actual DS this time. Emulators for the DS suck.

decided to get a geodude instead of onix, as onix didnt help at all last game.

    :/
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    Geodude, as you can see.
    Some moves and stuff.

    - Got the Shuckle from the one guy as a Strength slave.
    - Beat Chuck. He couldn't touch Bort at all.
    - Bort evolved into a Haunter, then Gengar.
    - Taught Bort Strength and Ice Punch.
    - Got the Secret Potion.
    - Beat Jasmine. Feeler took down Steelix at level 23 quite easily, the Magnemites were more of a problem. I ended up using sleep and chipping away at their health.
    - Beat the red Gyrados.
    - Got through the Rocket Hideout.
    - Beat Pryce. I hate Dewgong.
    - Did the Radio Tower stuff.
    - Got the Radio Card.
    - Got through the Ice Path.
    - Beat Clair. Bort did the entire fight without getting hurt once.
    - Ragtime evolved into Venomoth.
    - Got the Extremespeed Dratini as a Waterfall slace.
    - Got the Master Ball from Elm.

    Heart Gold Flying Progress:

-Faced the E4 yet again (this time w/different teams) to level up my team.
    -Traveled through Mt. Silver
    -The final battle vs Red:
After only a few soft resets, Titan managed to attack first. What really shocked me was that its Earthquake 1HKO'd Pikachu, his highest-level Pokemon!
Snorlax was a bit of a pain, but Titan managed to defeat it after being revived once.
Luckily Titan was also able to beat Lapras, after being revived again, thanks to its paralysis.
Titan also managed to paralyze Blastoise, and she actually defeated it with Thunder only to be KOd by Blastoise's Blizzard.
So I sent out Zangetsu and Red luckily sent out Venusaur. Needless to say, Fly was a huge help here, as well as the fact that all of Venusaur's attacks were bad against Zangetsu.
Then Red's last Pokemon: Charizard. Zangetsu confused it and luckily it wasn't able to strike him thanks to that. So I revived Titan, and Charizard left Zangetsu with 1 HP after Dragon Pulse. Hail took care of that though :P
Then it was Titan's turn yet again. With all the damage done to Charizard from hail and confusion, Titan's Waterfall managed to get its HP low enough for hail to take care of.
-And so I finally defeated the toughest in-game trainer in any of the games! The battle may have turned out differently if it wasn't for the hail, and I was also very lucky that Pikachu was taken out right away.

    My Final Heart Gold Team:

Titan - L66 (OK, by looking at the battle vs Red it's obvious she's the MVP of this team. Still, the whole team helped me beat this exhaustingly long game, even Kazeshini.)

Don't make the mistake I made, start training a Nincada as soon as you can.

I'm still locked at Wattson, training of Slash is going slowly due to all the trainers already having been defeated.

One story begins, and so another must end... in other words, I've (finally) finished my Fighting challenge!

Elite Four was tough. Had to grind to lvl. 55 then feed everyone 2 Rare Candies each. Aaron was the easiest with Blade's (Gallade) Rock Slide and Kendra's (Toxicroak) Stone Edge. Only Drapion caused me a problem (damn Aerial Ace, who told the E4 to start using TMs?)

Bertha was quite easy too, Blade beat 3 with Leaf Blade and Gliscor with Ice Punch. Charlie (Heracross) Megahorned Hippowdon to death.

Flint was actually the most difficult - 3/4 of my team are actually weak to fire, and none resist. Luckily I had Rock and Ground moves, but they didn't help much against Infernape. That Infernape is the bane of my existence.

Lucian, funnily enough, was actually quite easy, thanks to Shadow's (Lucario) Shadow Ball, Charlie's Megahorn and above all, Blade's Night Slash. The showdown of Gallade .vs. Gallade was epic by the way. Also, Bronzong is a moron, he just used Calm Mind while Charlie Close Combated him to death.

Cynthia was... underwhelming, to be frank. Charlie ate a Psychic from Spiritomb and beat it with Megahorn. Lucario fell to multiple Brick Breaks from Kendra. I sent out Shadow against Togekiss, expecting a barrage of Air Slashes, forgetting that she had Aura Sphere too. Shadow down. Blade avenged his comrade with a Rock Slide to flinch. Cynthia healed, and I Rock Slided twice again, getting flinchax on the second, and finishing with Ice Punch. Serene Grace my left buttock, Blade is the King of Flinchax.

Up next: Garchomp. Blade took a Dragon Rush and annihilated that dragon-shark with Ice Punch. Then he OHKOed Milotic with a critical Leaf Blade. Seriously, I think I'm actually in love with this guy. Charlie finished the match with two Aerial Aces against Roserade.

    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    Lvl. 57
    Swarm
    - Close Combat
    - Megahorn
    - Earthquake
    - Aerial Ace
Wonderful little guy, my hard-hitter. Megahorn was a godsend.

    Blade (Gallade) @ Miracle Seed/NeverMeltIce
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    Lvl. 58
    Steadfast
    - Ice Punch
    - Leaf Blade
    - Rock Slide
    - Night Slash
Definitely MVP during the Elite Four. I don't know what I would've done without him, he beat more E4 Pokemon than the rest of them put together.

    Kendra (Toxicroak)
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    Lvl. 57
    Dry Skin
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Stone Edge
    - Dig
    - Brick Break
To be honest I could take her or leave her. She was useful, but not integral.

    Shadow (Lucario)
    Ultimate Monotype Challenge

    Lvl. 57
    Steadfast
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Aura Sphere
    - Extremespeed
    - Shadow Ball
Wonderful in general gameplay, but strangely absent against the E4. Useful against Lucian, but useless against Flint/Bertha, absent against Aaron and knocked out early against Cynthia.

Honourable mentions to: King Louis the Infernape, who began my challenge here in Sinnoh. Notricky the Machop, who I imagine is a bloody smear nowadays - his life was sacrificed so that others may be healed. And Tropius and Bibarel, my faithful HM slaves friends.

Please give a big hand to everyone who featured in this challenge!

    Emerald Flying Progress:

-Started the game and named myself Muse as usual
    -Got Mudkip as my starter
    -Caught a Wingull @ Route 103
-I then found one with a better Nature. (yeah I know that contradicts my signature) I accidentally nicknamed her, so for lack of a better name I used Seagull <_<
-Grinded a little, then went to Rustboro
-Finally found a Nincada, and after some Supersonics it got its own HP was low enough for me to catch (Water Gun's the only damage dealing move Seagull knows)
-Grinded Nincada, who is a complete pain in the arse to train. I thought bugs were supposed to level up easily <_< (edit: Nevermind, I just discovered the Erratic experience group levels up slowly for the earlier levels then quickly later on)
-Defeated Roxanne. Seagull easily handled the Geodudes, but Nosepass was tougher because of Rock Tomb.

After I get Yellow, Crystal and a Game Boy Color off of Ebay, I'm going to do normal. Normal can be extremely powerful. At first you get crap like Bibarel, Linoone and Furret. However, after losing several times, your perserverance is rewarded with Powerful pokemon like Snorlax, Kangaskhan and Granbull. It also includes a lot of flying types, as a lot of flying types are par normal. As you know, flying is super effective against fighting, as fighting is super effective against normal. Plus, Flying moves works on the ghost types, but ghost moves don't work on the flying types. Noctowl also has foresight, which means ALL of your pokemon can do damage against Morty.

All right, I wanted to make sure I could post images before I updated.

I meant to record my Gym matches, but I forgot to do it for Brock and the file didn't save correctly for Misty, so I'll just record starting with the 2nd Gen run.

I chose Squirtle as my starter. I immediately caught a Rattata and began training it. Squirtle was just there so that I didn't black out if Rattata fainted. Once Rattata was level 9, I deposited Squirtle. I then took on my rival and beat him quite easily.

By the time I fought Brock, Rattata was level 17. Geodude was a pain in the ass; he kept using Defense Curl. Onix was pretty easy to beat; he kept using Bide while I used Tail Whip. Hyper Fang took him down in a few hits.

I caught a Jigglypuff outside of Mt. Moon and grinded for awhile. Rattata evolved during this grinding. Inside Mt. Moon I caught a Clefairy and began grinding it. By the time I left Mt. Moon, all three of them were around level 20.

Misty went down quite easily, after some grinding on Nugget Bridge and the route outside of Bill's House. I started with Jigglypuff, who paralyzed them with Thunder Wave. Then, I switched in Clefairy to Mega Punch her Pokemon.

On the way to Vermillion, I caught a Meowth, who for some reason is unable to learn Cut. Therefore, I had to catch a Bellsprout for the time being.

I decimated everyone on the S.S. Anne and obtained Cut. I used the Moon Stone form Route 2 to evolve Clefable and then took down Lt. Surge with Clefable's Body Slam. After some grinding in Digglet's Cave, Meowth evolved.

I taught Jigglypuff Bubblebeam and let it lead through Rock Tunnel. It finally reached 34 and learned Body Slam, so I evolved it.

In Lavendar, I visited the Name Rater to give my Pokemon some nicknames.

Finally started the Water type mono on Red!
    • Named myself Jay, named rival Gary, did beginning shizz.
    • Chose Squirtle! Named him Mist.
    • Got through to Pewter city with great ease and bet Brock.
    • Headed over to Mount Moon, bought the Magikarp from the freaky guy, named him Magic and Mist evolved.
    • Leveled them both up and got to Cerulean City relatively quickly.
    • Beat Gary easily, zoomed through the Nugget road up to the cape. Levelling up Magic was getting on my nerves.
    • Met Bill after Magic evolved into Gyarados finally.
    • Bet Misty quite easily, then headed out of Cerulean towards Vermillion.
    • Did the whole SS. Aqua thing then went to challenge Lt. Surge. I thought this would be a terrible battle but I found Mist could learn Dig so that went alright.
    • Caught a Spearow and traded it for the Farfetch'd just because I can. HM Slave ftw!
    • Tried fishing in Vermillion for Pogeys but all I got was Magikarp so I gave up and headed onwards to the Rock Tunnel.
    • Finished there for the night, wondering if I should catch ten random Pokemon to get the HM Flash because that tunnel is so dark. :(
      EDIT.
    • Made it through Rock Tunnel without Flash and without a map, finally. Team leveled up. Will now be headed to Celadon City. I really need to catch another couple of water types.

    - Beat the Elite 4.
Will was probably the biggest challenge in the game. Had to confuse/put all of his pokemon to sleep and barely managed to defeat him.
The other 3 were quite average.
Lance, on the other hand, was probably one of the easiest fights in the game. Gyrados was a bit of a problem, I just wore it down with Janice, Pepper, Gustavo, and Ragtime. It used Rain Dance right before it died, allowing Feeler to easily OHKO Charizard and Aerodactyl. His Dragonites were a matter of Hypnosis/Ice Punch/Ice Punch repeat.

    - Did all the Kanto stuff. Nothing special.

    - After about 32 attempts, I finally managed to beat Red and his Espeon. He was finally stupid enough to not use Psychic, and instead he set up a Reflect, so I got to Hypnosis and Shadow Ball it to death.
    About to start on Emerald.
