dammit, i hate the fact that you need that stupid pokeblock case to enter the safari zone. now i have to walk all the way back to Slateport before i can catch a Dodou...

I finally have a Dodou now, so i finally my team is complete now... and i have something against fightning types, i was horribly weak to them before... i remember i slightly defeated a Black Belt with a Machop and Machoke, but then my last Pokemon, Linoone got pwned by some sneaky guy with a Hariyama i walked into...

Team:

SemiSlave2 / Linoone f Lv. 38
Spr_3r_264.png

@ /
Rash Nature / Pickup
- Cut
- Strength
- Rock Smash
- Surf
For Dive and Waterfall i'll have to get my Mudkip from the box later on, but anything else is covered by Linoone

StopYellin / Loudred f Lv. 38
Spr_3r_294.png

@ /
Serious Nature / Soundproof
- Stomp
- Flamethrower
- Shock Wave
- Howl
Those TMs are soooo expensive, and i'll have to buy 2 more of them later on. I chose Flamethrower first because it helps against the annoying Steel types.

WtfSeviper / Zangoose m Lv. 36
Spr_3r_335.png

@ Soft Sand
Naughty Nature / Immunity
- Dig
- Slash
- Swords Dance
- Crush Claw
I'm pretty sure i don't need Swords Dance, Zangoose is pretty fragile and can deal a lot of damage even without a Swords Dance boost

SingStar3 / Wigglytuff f Lv. 34
Spr_3r_040.png

@ /
Docile Nature / Cute Charm
- Body Slam
- Thunderbolt
- Rollout
- Doubleslap
As i said, Wigglytuff makes a comeback again. Evolved it right after it learned Body Slam. III would have looked cooler than 3, but it wasnt possible because of the 10 characters limit

Invisible / Kecleon f Lv. 5
Spr_3r_352.png

@ /
Adamant Nature / Color Change
- Faint Attack
- Fury Swipes
- Psybeam
- Screech
The wild Kecleons i found all had crappy natures, so i had to breed one. Since the KI is pretty dumb, i don't think Color Change will be a disadvantage.

Dodou / Dodou m Lv. 25
Spr_3r_084.png

@ Sharp Beak
Lonely Nature / Early Bird
- Pursuit
- Steel Wing
- Tri Attack
- Fly
I have another Dodou that also has Lonely Nature and better IVs but it has Run Away...

Zangoose / Zangoose m Lv. 16

@ Soft Sand
Naughty Nature / Immunity
- Dig
- Quick Attack
- Swords Dance
- Fury Cutter
I'm not sure whether i should use Dig/Shadow Ball/Brick Break/Swords Dance or a STAB move instead of SD... And then there are Aerial Ace and Iron tail, which this thing can also learn, maybe AA>Dig, but again, i'm not sure... but then i would have wasted the Dig TM...
And i don't have a nickname for it yet...

Well if I were you, and this is just me, I would go with:

- Swords Dance/Crush Claw
- Brick Break
- Shadow Ball
- Aerial Ace

SD because I think it's useful to have at least one non-attack move in the line-up, but it's also good to have STAB and Crush Claw is a very good attack, so perhaps Crush Claw is the better option. Brick Break would be a life-saver against Steel and Rock types, and Fighting is jsut generally a good attack type to have. Shadow Ball will allow you to absolutely cream Phoebe - you'd hit her super-effectively and she wouldn't be able to hit you at all. Aerial Ace rounds of the line-up, giving strengths against many types that your other attacks are not super-effective against (Fighting msot importantly). Iron Tail is too innacurate and at 60 base power I think that Dig is underpowered in this generation.

Poliwrath wasn't really usefull, so I boxed it away. If all my pokemon somehow would die, I keep him as reserve, since he didn't faint.

Went to Silph co to beat the rockets, my Starmie leveled a lot there.
Got Lapras
Lapras died in the first battle. :(
Released Lapras.
Beat Giovanni without having one of my important pokemon die.

Team:
Starmie lvl 38
Psychic
Flash
Swift (Going to replace this for Surf)
Recover

Gyarados lvl 40
Taunt
Water Pulse
Secret power
Hidden Power Flying 70 power!!! This is a great STAB move!

Blastoise lvl 40
Water Gun
Brick Break
Rapid Spin
Bite

I'm very busy, so I don't play really often.

Yes, that's probably the best moveset for Zangoose, i'll use the Crush Claw Variant, because of Zangoose's frailty.

I beat the Psychic gym now, and now i'm trying to clear all these huge water areas...

Team:

SemiSlave2 / Linoone f Lv. 41
Spr_3r_264.png

@ /
Rash Nature / Pickup
- Cut
- Strength
- Rock Smash
- Surf
Now, where the Elite 4 is getting nearer, Linoone is becoming weaker, but i need this thing so i won't replace it. And i need Surf, against stuff like Graveler

StopYellin / Exploud f Lv. 42
Spr_3r_294.png

@ /
Serious Nature / Soundproof
- Stomp
- Flamethrower
- Shock Wave
- Ice Beam
I'll get the Earthquake TM soon and then it will be perfect.

WtfSeviper / Zangoose m Lv. 41
Spr_3r_335.png

@ Soft Sand
Naughty Nature / Immunity
- Dig
- Aerial Ace
- Shadow Ball
- Crush Claw
I'll keep dig until i get Brick Break, otherwise Magnemite/ton will screw me up

SingStar3 / Wigglytuff f Lv. 41
Spr_3r_040.png

@ /
Docile Nature / Cute Charm
- Body Slam
- Thunderbolt
- Rollout
- Ice Beam
Anything male gets pwned easily by this, Cute Charm is evil.

Invisible / Kecleon f Lv. 41
Spr_3r_352.png

@ Lax Incense
Adamant Nature / Color Change
- Substitute
- Slash
- Toxic
- Protect
I couldnt think of any other moveset, i already used/planned to use most TMs on other members of my team.

3in1 / Dodrio m Lv. 42
Spr_3r_085.png

@ Sharp Beak
Lonely Nature / Early Bird
- Drill Peck
- Steel Wing
- Tri Attack
- Fly
I evolved it at Lv.37 so it learned Drill Peck earlier.

I just beat Steven in Ruby. I was horribly underleveled (low-mid 40s) when i reached the Pokemon League, so i trained my team to level 50. ANd at level 50, i was still having trouble in the battles and didnt think i could beat the Elite 4 with Revive abusing, i thought i was just too weak. So i attempted and blacked out, and attempted and blacked out and didnt notice how fast especially Zangoose was leveling. And later, after another victory against Drake, i finally decided to fight the Champion with using Items, and won. So on to Sinnoh now!
s5b811_th.png

Final Team:
2u46a7q_th.png

@ /
Rash Nature / Pickup
- Cut
- Strength
- Rock Smash
- Surf
Only useful for Rock Smash support, LVP (but at least it prevented me from having to use a HM slave all the time and spawned lots of items by pickup ability, so outside of battles it was definetely the best.)

2la9bpt_th.png

@ Soft Sand
Serious Nature / Soundproof
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Shock Wave
- Ice Beam
Better than Wigglytuff, but pretty frail. Good type coverage.

14098qx_th.png

@ Silk Scarf
Naughty Nature / Immunity
- Brick Break
- Aerial Ace
- Shadow Ball
- Crush Claw
Level 72 xD Maybe i exaggerated a bit... Definetely MVP

w9th8y_th.png

@ Mystic Water
Docile Nature / Cute Charm
- Body Slam
- Thunderbolt
- Water Pulse
- Ice Beam
Pretty mediocre in this gen, but still a lot better than Linoone and Kecleon

6xviaf_th.png

@ Lax Incense
Adamant Nature / Color Change
- Ancient Power
- Slash
- Toxic
- Protect
The AI wasn't that dumb after all, Random Move and then Shadow Ball was very common later on. Only because of Toxic+Protect+good defences this was more useful than Linoone

ztaplj_th.png

@ Sharp Beak
Lonely Nature / Early Bird
- Drill Peck
- Steel Wing
- Tri Attack
- Fly
Very nice again, Tri Attack always freezed in the right moment, and Drill Peck always did huge damage. Tied with Exploud for the 2nd place in usefulness

I'd like to do a Water-Type run please :). I'll be using emulators for all games but Platinum. Also, I'd appreciate it if there would be some good samaritans willing to trade, as I plan to use Kingdra in Crystal and Sapphire, and maybe Clampearl as well.

EDIT: Might as well update now XD.

Game: Pokemon Blue

Name: Wallace

Rival's Name: Ash

-Got Squirtle
-Fought Ash and won
-Went to Viridian and delivired Oak's Parcel
-Fought Ash again, won
- - I was scared of that Bulbasaur, but the AI glitched and it used Growl.
- Recieved 5 Pokeballs from Oak(after the second rival battle you can go back to the lab and get them.)
-Saved in Viridian city.

I started on Pearl now. I'm playing on the DS so i won't finish this within two days again. Started with Turtwig (probably not the best choice, rival battles will be hell later on with Heracross AND Infernape...) and caught some Bidoof and Starly. Currently on the way to Jubilife.

Team:

NinjaThrwr / Bidoof f Lv. 6

Hardy Nature / Simple
- Tackle

Suicide / Starly m Lv. 7
Spr_4d_396_m.png

@ /
Naughty Nature / Keen Eye
- Tackle
- Growl
- Quick Attack
With Brave Bird and Close Combat, this will definetely be a suicide Pokemon later on

Another update from that guy who updated 2 posts ago! I'm using a 'spoof field journal' format for this, and it's not my idea BTW.

UPDATE:
-Beat Brock
-Bought Magikarp
-Went through Mt. Moon
-Got the Dome Fossil(Might be using later)
-Defeated Ash
-Went through Routes 25/26 and met Bill, got S.S. Ticket
-Defeated Misty
-Traded a Spearow for a Farfetch'd, to use as an HM Slave

Notes:Skullkraken was the original English name for Gyarados, but was dropped because it had 11 characters, so I simply abriged it.
I plan to use Skulkraken as a mascot for my ultimate water run, showcasing his power in R/B/Y, his fall from grace in G/S/C, his creeping back to effectivness in R/S/E, and his absolute godliness in D/P/Pt.

Excerpts from Journal days 2-3:
Skulkraken, day 2 : I received a Magikarp from a shady salesman for 500. While entirely useless, I've heard that it grows extremely powerful upon evolution.
Day 3: OMA! That thing evolves into a GYARADOS?! The sea snake capable of leveling cities with Hyper Beam and personally used by Lance of the E4?! OMA OMA OMA!!! Still, it makes me wonder what evolutionary advantage being a Magikarp possesses. Darwinian natural selection should have benefited the Magikarp that evolved sooner, eventually wiping it from the face of the Earth(which should have happened to regular Magikarps anyway). Perhaps the ones that did evolve sooner resulted in an overabundance of Gyarados whose rampages destroyed the ecosystem around them, resulting in a shortage of food.

Team Rocket, day 2 and 3: The TR I see on the news is made up of high leveled trainers, and is known for extremely grandiose operations. These guys in Mt. Moon and Cerulean are a bunch of petty thieves whose highest leveled Pokemon among them is a lvl. 16 Raticate. It seems that they're just a minor criminal group who took on the Team Rocket name to intimidate people, and the real organization tolerates them because they provide free goods and publicity.

I almost reached Hearthome now, and secondary i'm trying to get an Aipom by Honey Trees (i don't think it would make sense to wait months to get a Munchlax)... Raaaah, i hate those trees so much, the first 3 trees had two Cherubi and a Burmy, which are both more or less useless...
Well, about the Gyms, they were both easy. I trained till Bidoof evolved and then Roark was piece of cake. And Gardenia was easy anyway, Staravia destroyed her team.

Team:

Suicide / Staravia m Lv. 26
Spr_4d_397_m.png

@ /
Naughty Nature / Intimidate
- Double Team
- Endeavor
- Quick Attack
- Wing Attack
Currently my main Pokemon, since Cleffa didnt evolve yet and i didnt find an Aipom

MagicGuard / Cleffa f Lv. 25
Spr_4d_173.png

@ Exp. Share
Bold Nature / Magic Guard
- Magical Leaf
- Encore
- Sing
- Sweet Kiss
I was looking eternally for this thing yesterday evening, how could i know
they only appear at the morning? well, after i looked on bulbapedia, i knew it, changed the DS' time and everything was good =)
Got Magic Guard AND a good nature on 2nd try (and the most creative nickname ever), but now i ran out of luck and it just doesnt want to evolve...

HM Slaves:
NinjaThrwr / Bibarel Lv. 23 (Water Gun, Rollout, Cut, Rock Smash)
Plaupa / Chatot Lv. 8 (Peck, Growl)
Well, i degraded Bibarel to a HM Slave after i obtained Cleffa, maybe i'll get it back into the team later on, but then with a Simple Beam set
And about Chatot, Rofl.... Why do these ingame-traded pokemon always have that retarded nicknames?

UPDATE:

Reached Veilstone, caught two Girafarig, both had sucky natures, so i did some breeding. 6 Hrs for the honey trees are not over yet... if there is no aipom again or a male aipom with useless nature, i'll probably go with purugly xD

Team:

Suicide / Staraptor m Lv. 34
Spr_4d_398_m.png

@ /
Naughty Nature / Intimidate
- Double Team
- Take Down
- Close Combat
- Aerial Ace
Would have evolved in the last battle before Veilstone (which was a really annoying double battles vs 2 ace trainers, and one of them had a gyarados), but fainted with ~100Exp missing for level 34... But apart from this, definetely the best atm, both in terms of stats and moves.

MagicGuard / Clefable f Lv. 33
Spr_4d_036.png

@ /
Bold Nature / Magic Guard
- Magical Leaf
- Encore
- Sing
- Sweet Kiss
Evolved in this Tower thing, and then i went into the underground looking for a Moon Stone... I found one, after like 1000 spheres and maybe 5 other items, so i think i was pretty lucky here.

ChainChomp / Girafarig f Lv. 5
Spr_4d_203_m.png

@ Exp. Share
Quirky Nature / Inner Focus
- Stomp
- Agility
- Psybeam
- Baton Pass
Yes, also Girafarig makes a comeback here, in Sinnoh. I couldn't name it ChainChomp2 or ChainChompII, and unlike with Raticate, i was too lazy to invent a new nickname...

HM Slaves:
NinjaThrwr / Bibarel Lv. 23 (Water Gun, Strength, Cut, Rock Smash)
Plaupa / Chatot Lv. 12 (Peck, Growl, Mirror Move)
Chatot gained some levels because i switched it in in the double battle where Staravia fainted.

Um, is there a reason I'm still RBY? I clearly stated that not only RBY was complete, so was GSC.

Anyway, I'll be starting Emerald soon enough. However, there will be yet ANOTHER hiatus before DPt. Why? Because DS emulators don't work on my computer... an old 2003 Vista. See you when I start...

15 honey trees now, and still no Aipom, therefore tons of Wurmples and Combees, several Cherubis and Burmys and a Cascoon... Those honey trees are so frustrating, i'm so glad they're only in Sinnoh and not everywhere...

Beat Maylene, Crasher Wake and Fantina, all of them were easy. Obtained Thunderbolt TM at the Valley Windworks and Flamethrower TM at the Fuego Ironworks. Still no Aipom, i'm giving up on it now, it would be way to underleveled now.

Everything in Sinnoh seems to be Starafarig weak, this thing is really evil when played together with Staraptor.

HM Slaves:
NinjaThrwr / Bibarel Lv. 23 (Surf, Strength, Cut, Rock Smash)
Plaupa / Chatot Lv. 12 (Peck, Growl, Mirror Move, Fly)
I don't need Defog, Aerial Ace and Magical Leaf destroyed the whole foggy areas without any resistance, this way the whole thing was a lot easier than it would have been with Defog

How do you spell "Chatot" by the way, i always spell it like the french "château", i'm pretty sure that's wrong

I just found out i can't get Energy Ball before the Elite 4, i planned to teach Girafarig Energy Ball and Clefable Shadow Ball...
Should i now teach Grass Knot to Girafarig, or teach Girafarig Crunch and teach Grass Knot to Clefable? Or Shadow Ball over Crunch on Girafarig?
I tend to the second variant, because against Medicham, which isn't hit super-effective by Crunch, i can use Staraptor, but against Girafarig, which laughs at Shadow Ball, i don't have anything super-effective.
