Don't worry, the Sevii islands seem like a rushed attempt to make the game more interesting, Ther'es nothing difficult in them :P

dragon0fangz, you dont actually need to go to Sevii Islands, you need to find Lorelei in Island 4 after defeating the e4 to have a rematch with the E4. You need to defeat the Elite 4, then only you could go to Island #4 anyway.

okay... well 1,2,3 islands are still good leveling, and how do you find lorelei anyways? I went up for the first time, and she's not there.

Absolutely. I'm doing an Ultimate Monotype, and my Ghost team is stuck on Crasher Wake. Gyarados knows Bite and Floatzel knows Crunch/Ice Fang, and Drifblim gets 2 hit by either one, and Haunter gets one hit.

Update #1 Platinum.

I needed to train using the rare Shinx to reach Level 11 to get Bite, so that I could get through the first trainer who uses a Normal/Flying Starly, which Astonish can't hit.

Roark was easy peasy, Bite finished it off.

Again, Bite power.

Gardenia dies effortlessly to Bites which 2HKOes everything.

Rock Tomb was gotten and immediately taught (I forgot where I got it).

Ghosts, meet your demise - Crunch.
Seriously, why learn Baton Pass?

Overleveled Crunches thrash people.

Anyway, I'm up to Maylene now - I defeated her but the game crashed, so I'm gonna try her again. Taught Gnawie! Focus Blast, which is more than enough to OHKO her Pokemon.

Just a question: On solo runs, how are you supposed to work with HMs? I mean, for all the people doing things like Charizard runs, won't you need to learn Surf?

Anyhoo, some progress:

- Kicked May's #%*
- Discovered Petalburg City, helped Wally catch his Pokemon.
- Continued on through Petalburg woods, with Mudkip ("Milo") now level 13
- Discovered Rustboro, beat Roxanne; Milo evolved into Marshtomp
- Helped out the Devon Researcher, beat the thug in the Rusturf Tunnel.
- Contacted Mr. Briney, set foot in Dewford.
- Delivered Steven's letter to Steven in Dewford Cave. Milo is now level 17.
- Defeated Brawly at the Dewford Gym, Milo is at level 19.
- Set foot in Slateport, beat all the trainers on the beach, Milo is level 22.

So far, that's it. I'll update more when I can.

You can use HM slaves, like you could evolve your Eevee to Vaporeon for Surf, catch a Pidgey for Fly, get a Clefable for Cut/Flash/Strength etc. These are the Slaves I used in FR.

[off-topic]I'm also doing the Ghost UMC and I'm also on Sinnoh, just not updated since ages. I've defeated Volkner now :D. Are you playing Pearl? You can get Mismagius in Pearl or evolve your Haunter or stick to good ol' grinding.. Well, I didn't find Wake a problem :D.[/off-topic]

That says Maylene loses. Had to reset a bit to make Focus Blast get lucky and not miss though.

Honestly, Wake is a problem. Focus Blast became my useful OHKO attack here, as I can't manage taking a few Mud Bombs from Quagsire, and then getting KOed by a 130 power Brine.

Yeah, Cyrus was OHKOed by Iron Heads. Good that they added a STAB attack to this poor Mawile. :D Needed Focus Blast to kill Barry's Pokemon, especially Monferno/Infernape, can't remember. Seriously, when did Focus Blast become such a good attack?

-Picked Charmander and lost to Rival
-Hacked for Grimer
-Beat Rival second time
-Beat Brock after a few tries
-Went through Mt. Moon/Nugget Bridge no problems
-Beat Misty after a few tries via Bide
-Accidentally forgot Pound, which was my main attack in favor of Minimize, then realized I had Body Slam
-Beat Rival on S.S. Anne
-Beat Lt. Surge no problems
-Went through Rock Tunnel (Was dark, since I had no flash but I made it)
-Infiltrated Rocket base but turned back for being a noob (Forgot where Lift Card was)
-Beat Erika no problem
-Re-Infiltrated Rocket base with Lift Card in mind.
