Weekly Music Mince
It's been a long time coming, and as usual it is still late, but the seventh Music Mince is here. In this special edition of my most frequently posted type of entry I'm changing things up again. Rather than showcasing songs that I myself particularly enjoyed in the week, this issue contains tracks submitted by some willing regulars from the supporter Plug DJ.

Info: I recently discovered this song while playing songs on Plug.DJ with my buddies. It was part of a mashup I saw and I instantly clicked with the tune. Info: I've been listening to a lot of Pentatonix lately, both their covers and original songs, and this one has been stuck in my head for the past day or two. Like all their other tracks, this is acapella, but they also added rhythmic stomps and clapping to it, which is something they've never done before and I think it came out pretty good. Also, huge props to their bass and beatboxer as always, even though they weren't featured as prominently here than in some of their other tracks - they're very talented and PTX wouldn't sound half as great without them.

Song: Congo Rapide

Info: Well for starters Congo Rapide is from the French Submarine Brass band, one of the first bands I listened to I actually learned the name of the genre. I've actually always liked that sort music but I had no idea what it was called, causing me to drown in orchestral music which I liked but not as much as brass.
But moving on to the song itself, what classes it as one of favorite music of all time is the beginning. The entire song uses my two favorite brass instruments - the trumpet and the saxophone. It starts off with a good beat, followed by low-pitched trumpets and bells. The low-pitched trumpets in always give me nostalgia attacks to the days of DBZ, Inspector Gadget and the "Il était une fois..." (Once upon a time...) series, which were a big part of my childhood. Childhood stories aside, the refrain is also really cool, with the trumpets and the sax in between.
Overall the song is fast-paced, something which I love in my songs (hence the name Congo "Rapide"). - Foxrally
I greatly appreciate the help of those who have contributed to this entry, even those who didn't manage to get around to actually sending in their songs (because the thought counts) or to writing info.
