[Discussion] What are some examples of a good first demo?

In the game I'm working on I'm not sure how the demo should be or how much should be completed before I release the demo, some examples and tips (etc.) would be a nice help.

Well you can consult the "Games showcase" & "Progressing games" section and try something out.
