What does a beta-tester do?

Hey, I just stumbled on a hack that needs a beta-tester, and I'm wondering what does a beta-tester do?

A beta-tester is someone who tests a product (In this case a rom hack) before it is released to the public.

Basically, plays a hack, and LOOKS for errors so they can report them. At least that's what I do when I beta test someone's hack.

They check for bugs, if I'm right. And checks the whole thing if it's okay to be released.
