What midi editor is best?

    I need a midi maker/editor so i can learn how to play game tunes on the piano.

    anyone have anything?
    that wont expire or run out?

    I prefer to use Anvil Studio. It's nice and straightforward. Also, it's free :P

    • What platform are you running on? Rosegarden is the standout free sequencer, but it's for Linux; not sure how the Windows port is progressing, haven't checked up for a while.

    On Windows I use Quartz AudioMaster Freeware. Among commercial programs, my personal favourite is MicroLogic, but I don't believe that's available any longer.
