I'm just now entering the Victory Road, and with the distraction of Black and White, I've hardly touched that place. This is also the first playthrough of any pokemon game I've done without using Hm's on my main team, as most of them aren't worth the move slot. It's rather annoying when I want to fly somewhere, or need a field move.

Here is my team, I was able to beat the Elite 4 consistently. And I was able to beat Red 2 times with this team.

Snorlax - Level 77
Typhlosion - Level 81
Pikachu - Level 83 (With a light ball)
Dragonite - Level 82
Gyarados - Level 82
Mewtwo - Level 76

It required some strategy to beat Red, and some potions, and a few revives but it was done.

My team on pokemon soulsilver is:

lv100 GIRATINA and it's moves are DARK PULSE, DRACO METEOR, AURA SPHERE, and SHADOW FORCE

lv92 HO-OH and it's moves are SACRED FIRE, FLY, BRAVE BIRD, and ROCK SMASH

lv94 DIALGA and it's moves are BLIZZARD, ROAR of TIME, THUNDER, and FLASH CANNON

lv100 MEWTWO and it's moves are PHSYCO CUT, AURA SPHERE, ROCK CLIMB, and EARTHQUAKE

lv100 PALKIA and it's moves are FIRE BLAST (but I'm planing to change that to AURA SPHERE), SPAICAL REND, SHADOW CLAW, and HYDRO PUMP

plus any pokemon I'm leveling up or I'm trying to evolve
