4th Gen Why is my pokemon worried about me?

I was hatching some eggs, and i tried to release a pokemon, and it said he came back becuase he was worried about me. what makes this occur?

If that pokemon knows an hm and is the only pokemon you have that knows this hm it won't be released until another pokemon knows the hm that it knows.

i've had a few pokemon that have done this, it does the same thing when you send pokemon over to pokemon ranch

This happened to me too in Emerald. I had 2 pokes and tried to release other one but it came back O.o
