Will we see a dark type gym?

Correct me if i'm wrong ,but never in any pokemon game has there been a dark type gym leader that I can recall. Will sun and moon, finally bring us a dark type gym? Sure, there have been dark type elite four members, but not any dark type gym leaders. Even though the fairy type was only recently released, it got it's own gym in pokemon x & y. I'm curious to see what direction that a dark type gym could take in these games, if developers decide to include a dark type gym.

You have to admit, this has been the biggest piece of discussion about possible Gyms for S/M lately, after 6th Gen continued the hoodoo. I feel a Dark-type Gym would have some great concepts and it's getting so much waste not seeing it materialized by Game Freak, and I think this should be the generation that breaks the drought.

A Dark-type Gym would be cool but I can't see it happening now. If it hasn't happened after 6 generations and we've had gyms of multiple different types, then I can't see them introducing a Dark-type Gym so late into the franchise.

GF is generally pretty unpredictable when it comes to Gym Leader types (lol no ****) since Gen V was pretty much the first time they've introduced a poison-type gym into the series (Roxie) since Gen I (Koga). It's quite possible that they can shoehorn a Dark-type gym somewhere. Generally, it seems they seems they like to mix things up for the most part, up to including some types that some thought were long forgotten. Heck, B2W2 included a Steel-type gym for the first time since Gen 2 with Jasmine!

I'd say it's pretty possible. :o

Yeah, I know where you're coming from. I don't think it's totally out of the question, I just find it hard to believe being at the 7th generation still without one whilst we got a Fairy-type Gym the same generation it that type was introduced. You could be right, they could introduce one for this generation for the first time and that would be really cool! I can't figure out why they haven't for so long, but perhaps there is an unknown reason behind it that we don't know about that will remain the case throughout the franchise history. Just so you know I'm totally in favour of one though, I could imagine the puzzle to be super creative. 8)

You got to remember what Dark Type is in Japan. Dark types to them are Evil Type. So it is unlikely that we will get a gym when they are supposed to be lessons ect.

I think the only way we will ever get a dark type gym is if it is ran by the evil team again, which is possible. I want a dark type gym as well. But it might be unlikely.

I've wanted a Dark-type gym for years. Some folks have speculated that Game Freak haven't included one because in Japan it's the "Evil" type, but that makes zero sense. We have had lots of Dark-type Elite Four members, an Elite Four member as part of an evil group (Malva) and the very first 8th gym leader was Giovanni... you know, the leader of an evil team.

Yeah, Dark seems to always be saved for the Elite Four, but I think a gym with a creepy aspect to it would be cool, because they've done some neat things with some of the newer gyms! I want a supernatural or haunted house gym or something, haha.

We had Byron in DPP in Gen IV as a Steel Type Gym. I agree though, we're long-overdue for one and I think they could really do a lot with it since it hasn't been explored before (as a gym-type). I'd also like to see a Bug-Type gym that isn't the first or second one, though. Something akin to Aaron from DPP.

I never understood what the issue with giving Dark a gym was. So what if it's the "evil type"? Evil gym leaders aren't exactly a new thing in the series. And, it's not like any of the Dark E4 members were evil, anyways.

She has a point, while Giovanni was a leader of a criminal organization, none of the Dark-type Elite Four members have been evil. The one evil Elite Four member we know from 6th Gen (Malva) didn't use Dark, but Fire.

It might be the 'Evil-Type' but if they're creative enough they could figure out a good lesson fora trainer to learn while in that gym, I believe. That said I would love to see a dark-type gym simply because it's way overdue for one.

Kind of like how we've never had a Poison legendary. Or, 5 Electric gym leaders, but no Electric E4 members. Or, no non-bipedal Fire starters. Or, no non-reptilian Grass starters until Gen 6. Or, no Dragon Eeveelution. Or, no non-Dragon pseudo-legends besides Tyranitar and Metagross.

I agree with the fact that a dark type gym would work well with S&M being based off Hawaii, but like always, I really don't care if we get a dark gym or not LOL

If the Grass starter trend was broken, there's always the possibility we could see these other hoodoos broken, such as we could get our first Poison legendary or our first Electric specialist that is Elite Four but not a Gym Leader. Heck, even Litten has the possibility to stay on all fours when it evolves so that bipedal trend could be broken as well.
