Never really posted to one of these threads with an essay-type post but why not
I'm just listing the ones that I recently got from my sister
1. Abc - When Smokey Sings - I love this song so much! My 80s loving sister got me into it. But it's so good! It's like a musical cinnamin bun!
2. Rem - It's The End Of The World As We Know It - I only got to appreciate this song on the internet but it's a great song. The version I have is like surround sound in the highest quality so it's really enjoyable.
3. Talking Heads - Wild Wild Life - just happy and cheerful. I love the Talking Heads.
4. Bangles - Walk Like An Egyptian - this song is AWESOME! The first part especially. It's just too awesome. The Egyptian element of it is something I dont hear anymore.
5. No Doubt - Spiderwebs - nostalgia, utter nostalgia. This song is dripping with nostalgia, so much I cried when i first heard it again.
6. Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do - music only, not the lyrics except for the song name. This song reminds me of my perception of the world when I was merely a kindergardener ;_; boy have the times changed. I could say this is my absolute favorite song of all time but it shares number 1 with another song
7. The other song is the best cover I have ever heard in my life.
Cibo Matto - About A Girl - this song inspired me to write a series about a girl (<XDD). However, the Japanese accent of the singer made me hear "alternate" lyrics so I wrote about "I can see you every night" and not "I can't see you ever night". I also used to make up lyrics for it. I remember trying to remember how the song went when I went for long periods without hearing it. But now I have it and am very very happy.
When I heard Nirvana's version (the original version), I thought it sucked
songs that get an honorable mention
the list is kinda long
Cibo Matto - Speechless - it's got the perfect mix of jazz and rap
Sleater-kinney - Surf Song - great riffs and some nostalgia
Sleater Kinney - Step Aside - great song. Normally I'm not much of a Sleater Kinney fan (my sister's the fangirl) but some of their songs are pretty interesting
Sleater-Kinney - Big Big Lights - nostalgia
Sleater-Kinney - One Beat - that one beat is pretty awesome lol and the lyrics aren't bad either. A bit protestish for me but hey
Sleater Kinney - Oh! - I love the riff of part 1 of the song. The music is purty. Pretty for guitar music
Sleater-Kinney - Off With Your Head - awesomeness
I like S-K's second last album better than most of their other stuff. It just sounds different and better. It has more spice.
Spice Girl - Spice Up Your Life - I loooooove this song so DARN much! It's just so darn cool!
Stellastarr- - My Coco - I love this song so much, it sounds so lovely and nice and soothing, even if it's kinda loud. It's a loud soothing. It also reminds me of Steven (Pokemon), and AshxShinji, Shinji being the one singing even if he's sort of out of character. Another nostalgia liking too
Modest Mouse - Tiny Cities Made Of Ashes - interesting song, very very interesting. The lyrics are kinda crazy though. They dont really make sense, kinda random
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance - the lyrics are teh win but then again, this song is a classic
Bis - Beats At The Office - I like it, simple as that
^I like Bis a lot. They're awesome
Bis - Dead Wrestlers - it is a very interesting song.
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Ohio - mostly the music not the lyrics
Songs I dont have
Bon Jovi - who says you cant go home
David Bowie - Rebel rebel
Black eyed peas - My Humps
Kelis - milkshake
Led Zeppelin - d'yer mak'er
I'll think of more...
