This is my team for Emerald (AFTER the Elite Four). I don't seem to focus on Attack much, but I have a lot of "substitute" Pokemon who are Physical Sweepers. Mind you, I don't have all the Pokemon yet, seeing as I am barely at Mossdeep now in Emerald, but the Kanto Pokemon are already in my FireRed. :P
Sceptile @Miracle Seed
Ability: Overgrow
Nature: Modest (-Atk, +Sp. Atk)
Attract
Double Team
Leaf Blade/Giga Drain
Dragon Claw
EV's: 252 Sp. Atk., 6 Sp. Def., 252 Speed
Annoyer-Sweeper. I haven't actually decided on Leaf Blade or Giga Drain yet. Leaf Blade's high critical hit ratio is nice, but so is the recovery from Giga Drain. Oh yeah, the Miracle Seed works, in my opinion. I also use it since I don't have much hold items...
Blissey @Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure/Serene Grace
Nature: Bold (-Atk, +Def)
Softboiled
Aromatherapy
Ice Beam
Seismic Toss
EV's: 212 HP, 252 Defense, 46 Sp. Atk.
I like using my Blissey's Special Attack. Actually, I don't have her yet, so I'm still unsure of Natural Cure or Serene Grace. The former can help her when she's asleep or frozen, and the latter will boost (albeit slightly) the chances of Freezing the opponent. Oh, well.
Dragonite @Leftovers/Contest Scarf
Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Quiet (-Speed, +Sp. Atk.)
Substitute
Focus Punch
Thunderpunch
Ice Punch
EV's: 52 HP, 64 Attack, 252 Sp. Atk., 120 Sp. Def., 20 Speed
Pseudo-BOAHNite. The perfect counter to Skarmory teams. It's also my main contest Pokemon, as with proper PokeBlock supply and proper use of moves in Contests (It's still a Dratini without any PokeBlocks), it can devastate everyone. The Speed down also earns a bonus with Inner Focus.
Lapras @Shell Bell
Ability: Water Absorb
Nature: Modest (-Atk., +Sp. Atk.)
Surf
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Rest/Confuse Ray
EV's: 6 HP, 252 Sp. Atk., 252 Speed
Standard Lapras. It'll have a few problems with Chinchou/Lanturn but other than that, it's deadly. Boltbeam hits all but Chinchou/Lanturn and Magnemite/Magneton, but Surf can take care of the latter. Also, some advice please, on the fourth move.
Gardevoir @Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
Nature: Modest (-Atk., +Sp. Atk.)
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Calm Mind
Rest
EV's: 172 HP, 132 Defense, 80 Special Attack, 106 Special Defense, 20 Speed
The popular and deadly Special Sweeper-Wall set. Psybolt is there to damage while Calm Mind boosts this Sweeper-Wall up. Rest is there if ever you need to recover whatever the opponent has done to you. With those Defensive EVs, Gardevoir will have good defense stats. I put Gardevoir here instead of Latios because Latios is banned in tournament play. But since Latios can be a bit stronger than Garde in the Frontier, he's worth using too.
Skarmory @King's Rock
Ability: Keen Eye
Nature: Impish (-Sp.Atk., +Def.)
Fly
Whirlwind
Steel Wing
Spikes
EV's: 200 HP, 64 Attack, 192 Defense, 54 Special Defense
This is my variation to the standard Skarmory moveset. For me, Fly works (and in DP, it becomes stronger), so I put it here. Steel Wing damages some that Fly cannot: Rock Pokemon. Use Spikes and keep Whirling your enemies so that they take damage even before the battle's begun.
My substitute Pokemon are:
Slaking @Leftovers
Ability: Truant
Nature: Adamant (-Sp. Atk., +Atk.)
Earthquake
Shadow Ball
Brick Break
Hyper Beam
EV's: 6 HP, 252 Attack, 252 Speed
Since Slaking's the strongest non-Legendary in terms of base stat totals, and in tribute to the player's dad, I like to use it for Frontier. I did before, but that was the time when I didn't use EV's. Now, when I do, it'll tear apart the Frontier Brains' teams. I don't use Choice Band since I still want recovery and to use my other attacks, but the Adamant nature works well already. Hyper Beam takes advantage of the Truant ability, since they both make Slaking attack every other turn.
Lanturn @Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
Nature: Calm (-Atk, +Sp. Def.)
Surf
Rain Dance
Thunder
Thunder Wave
EV's: 40 HP, 192 Defense, 118 Special Attack, 160 Special Defense
This moveset takes advantage of Rain Dance's boosting Water attacks and perfecting Thunder's accuracy. But since it might encounter problems with Grass and Dragon Pokemon, the alternative moveset can be Surf, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and Thunder Wave. With that, Lanturn can cover almost all Pokemon well, save for itself and its pre-evolution, Chinchou.
Marowak @Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
Nature: Jolly (-Sp. Atk., +Speed)
Swords Dance
Bonemerang
Rock Slide
Double-Edge
EV's: 6 HP, 252 Attack, 252 Speed
This Marowak has so many strong points. Thick Club makes it deadlier, Swords Dance makes it deadliest, and Double-Edge's recoil is negated with Rock Head. The Rock Slide-Earthquake combo is sweet murder, but Bonemerang lessens the need for breeding, and its 50x2 damage equals Earthquake's 100.
That's what I have. ;)
