New Fire Red team, been playing for 2 weeks now, and training for fifth badge (I want a reasonably equal, high levelled pokemon for the elite 4 :P), and it´s only for boring old in-game:

    Vaporeon lv 36
Double Team, Surf, Ice Beam, Bite (Bite to be replaced with Double-Edge)
    Hypno lv 38
    Psychic, Hypnosis, Barrier, Shadow Ball
    Dodrio lv 39
Return , Steel Wing, Drill Peck, Tri Attack
Cubone lv 38 (waiting for Double-Edge to evolve)
Rock Slide, Bone Club, Brick Break, Bonemerang (Bone Club to be replaced with Double-Edge)
    Arcanine lv 39
Bite, Roar, Flame Wheel, Take Down (yuck, yuck, yuck. It will be: Sunny Day, Overheat, ExtremeSpeed and Aerial Ace I think)

and I´m having trouble with a last Pokemon...I´m thinking Vileplume or Electabuzz, but not sure yet.

One sentence: Gengar, Zapdos, & Venusaur can all destroy water types.
Ah well, it's better than a team of 6 Typhlosions which is what I have in Leaf Green as one of my joke teams.

Manetric + Alakazam (with thunderpunch) = you dead

Manectric sucks, Jolteon would destroy it. Kingdra has a nice neutral to Electricity and enough defence to withstand Alakazam, and OHKO back using something like Hydro Pump or Surf.

Kingdra would lose to 'Zam, since any special sweeping Zam worth anything should have Ice Punch as well.

Considering the pokemon he listed, Manetric is good enough to take them out. Jolteon is just overkill.

No offence intended but read the title of the section this topic is in. It says "Advance Generation Games (GBA)" so you're in the wrong place.

Anyway, I got a new team on Fire Red:
    Mewtwo (Level 100)
    Aerodactyl (Level 100)
    Gardevoir (Level 100)
    Regice (Level 100)
    Steelix (Level 100)
    Venusaur (Level 100)

This is just a joke team though because i hacked all of these to give them moves they could never learn. It's really funny watching a Steelix with Volt Tackle take out a Lapras.

    My crystal Team...

    Snorlax ( 92 )
    Typloshion ( 100 )
    Kabutops ( 96 )
    Magneton ( 100 )
    Feraligatr ( 88 )
    Forretress ( 100 )

Nice, Typhlosion is severely underrated but it was always one of the coolest Fire Types. The coolest is Blaziken because it reminds me of Garudamon and War Greymon.

    Stumpy's Team

This is a work in progress, and I hope to finish this team within the week

    Alakazam @shell bell
    Nature: Modest
    EV's: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
    Psychic
    Fire Punch
    Ice Punch
    Thunder Punch

    Zangoose @choice band
    Nature: Adamant
    EV's: 252 Atk, 200 Spd, 30 Def, 28 Sp. Def
    Slash
    Swords Dance
    Rest
    Undecided

    Wobbuffet @leftovers
    Nature: Calm
    EV's: 252 HP, 128 Def, 128 Sp. Def
    Mirror Coat
    Rest
    Destiny Bond
    Haze

    Skarmory @leftovers
    Nature: Jolly
    EV's: 252 Spd, 128 Def, 128 HP
    Spikes
    Toxic
    Aerial Ace
    Rest

    Shuckle @leftovers

    EV's: 252 HP, 128 Def, 128 Sp. Def

Need to pick last team member
Any Suggestions? Any would be helpful

    Now, for my slaking moveset:
    Slaking@Soul Dew(I know, it's leik, da bom)
    Mild nature
EVs: 255 Attack, 255 Special Attack
    ~Protect
    ~Solarbeam
    ~Focus Energy
    ~Taunt
    (this is 13's Slaking profile)

please don't take any of my criticisms personally, I just want to point out a few things

if you are going to keep this moveset, don't waste 255 EV's in Atk, seeing as how you have no atk based moves
soul dew only works for Lati@s, so it is useless here, give Slaking a leftovers
Protect is a lame move, all it does is waste a turn you could use to beef up ur defense or something, and slking needs every turn he can get, since he is lazy
Solarbeam is a 2 turn move, which screams to your opponent "switch in a fire or flying pokemon"
Slaking has an average Sp. Atk stat, but an awesome Atk stat so replace solarbeam with an Atk based move, like a fighting move for those pesky Chanseys, Blissey's, and steel-based pokemon
Focus Energy doesn't boost critical chance enough for it to be a worthwhile move, so dump that for another buffer/Atk based move
Taunt is alright in some circumstances, but when you get a move every other turn, you don't want to make your opponent attack every turn because you will die very fast
instead of 255 EV's in each stat, make it 252 and use the extra 6 EV's to boost another stat 1 point

In my opinion, this is what a Slaking should look like
    Slaking @leftovers
    Nature: Careful
    Ev's: 252 Sp. Def, 252 HP, 6 Atk
    Amnesia
    Earthquake
    Rest
    Bulk Up

and this is still crappy, but i made it up off the top of my head
it can still be tons better
so please consider this constructive criticism and not me just being a jerk

That post is really confusing, what's with the repetition of the comments?

Anyway, if you plan to use Slaking, a good moveset is something like this:
    Slaking @ Leftovers
    Adamant Nature
    EV's: 252 Attack EV's / 252 Speed EV's / 4 HP EV's
    Attacks: Hyper Beam
    Rock Slide
    Earthquake
    Brick Break
Slaking is like the only Pokemon that can effectively use Hyper Beam as it takes a turn rest in between anyway so the resting phase of Hyper Beam doesn't happen.

Wobbuffet is banned from competitive play as it is classed as an uber Pokemon or something because of the Destiny Bond, Mirror Coat, Counter combo it can use. But it's good for a fun match where you want to annoy your friends. Keep in mind that any Pokemon with Taunt is Wobbuffet's worst nightmare no attack moves means it'll have to use struggle.

Alakazam is better with Leftovers as Shell Bell cannot match it in health recovery.

I've never used Skarmory and Shuckle because I think there are better Pokemon (Celebi cannot die). Skarmory also fears a Magneton with Magnet Pull as it cannot switch out and will most likely get taken out by a Thunderbolot next turn.

Just some advice. Don't take anuy of that the wrong way. And for a good Celebi moveset go something like this:
    Celebi @ Leftovers
    Natural Cure
    EV's: (Calm Nature) 252 HP / 120 Spd / 60 Sp. Atk / 76 Sp. Def
    Attacks: Leech Seed
    Psychic/ HP Grass
    Recover
    Calm Mind/Heal Bell

I know that skarmory will die against a magneton, but thats why I use skarmory as a physical tank/spiker so that after 3 spikes, every time a pokemon enters the battle, they lose about 1/3 of their health

    and about celebi
    1st, I don't have a celebi
    2nd, if i did i wouldn't use it
i like to destroy my friends' legendaries with my normal pokemon like starmie, alakazam, and zangoose

but, if anyone here lives near or in milwaukee wisconsin that has a celebi, i'd definitely pay like 5 bucks just for the pokedex data and trade it back
