    I actually heard there was gonna be an outburst of news coming out in the middle of August, I predicted yesterday (simply 'cause it was my birthday), I guess I was wrong but hey, it'll come any second now.
    In the previous thread, you said you accidently deleted some messages, did any of them include some news?

    What Do We Know About Pokémon Platinum?

    Description: Pokemon Platinum is the upcoming game for the Pokemon series. It is NOT a GSC remake nor it is a 5th Generation game. IT IS ACTUALLY a sequel to the ever-so-popular games of Diamond and Pearl (just like Emerald was a sequel to Ruby and Sapphire). It will be released in Japan in September 13, 2008 and released in the U.S.A. some time in the spring of 2009.



    Here I have compiled a list of information about what information has been released officially. I may have missed some, so add to this list if you find anything. x_x
    • A new Origin Forme of Giratina is going to be introduced in Platinum.
    • A new Sky Forme of Shaymin is going to be introduced in Platinum.
    • Giratina's new Origin Forme will have the Levitate Ability.
    • Shaymin's new Sky Forme will have the Serene Grace Ability.
    • By having Serene Grace, Seed Flare will have up to 80% chance of reducing Sp.Def. Shaymin is also said to get Air Slash, which has Flinch Rate that is amped to 60% with Serene Grace. Sky Forme will get very hax-ish, wether this Pokemon's tier placement will be affected is still unknown.
    • To change from Shaymin's Land Forme to Sky Forme (and vice versa), you will need the item Glacidea's Flower, which is obtained in Floaroma town in Platinum. Serebii recently announced a rumor that forme switching will be limited to the movie Shaymin and nothing else.
    • See Giratina Origin and Shaymin Sky sprites.
    • Pokemon will now have animated backsprites.
    • Deeper storyline involving two new characters. One will be a police officer that is investigating the climate change, the other is a Team Galactic Professor.
    • The climate of Platinum will be cooler, and the main characters dress in warmer clothes (long sleeves).
    • There will be a new dimension called the Torn World, in which you will leap in after Dialga and Palkia create a tear in reality. See picture.
    • You will be able to "walk on the walls" and "walk vertically" and "walk on the ceiling". The dimensions of this world are twisted! There will even be some surfing paths!
    • Giratina will always turn Origin Forme when you enter the Torn World.
    • If you pre-ordered the 11th movie ticket in Japan, you will be given a special Regigigas that allows you to access secret places in the game.
    • Three caves will pop up, one of ice, rock, and steel. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel will be in those hidden caves at Level 30.
    • There will be a Wifi Club that can hold a room of up to 20 people, including yourself.
    • There will be a new mini-game involving Poffins and a new machine called Swalot Machine.
    • In the place of the Fight Area in DP, Platinum will introduce a Battle Frontier, including shops and such. See picture.
    • The new boxart for Pokemon Platinum has been revealed. Click to see.
    • First off, 5 sillhouettes of Pokemon are revealed. Various websites have confirmed that these are not new Pokemon, but rather new formes of Pokemon. Click for a large picture.
    • The sillhouettes legitimacy has been confirmed. During Platinum's release, there will be pieces of information about the sillhouette Pokemon given away.
    • Second, a screenshot reveals that somewhere in the game, the hero will be in a double battle against Flint and Volkner. The hero will be partnered up with his rival.
    • There will also be various MiniGames, which you can now play on WiFi.
    • A screenshot also reveals that there will be a facility similar to the Battle Factory in Pokemon Emerald, in which the trainer would swap Pokemon after a battle.
    • The beginning of the game is altered, with the encounters of Professor Rowan sooner than the DP games.
    • Shaymin learns the attack Leaf Storm. Floaroma Town has a gate.
    • Each Pokemon will have new sprites. Some of them... don't look very good.
    • The underground has recently been confirmed to be Wireless, not WiFi.
    • GTS has encorporated an e-mail system.
    • It has also been said that it has a new Egg Toss game, where when the players are finished, they will receive a random egg with random moves and random... well... everything.
    • From a screenshot, we see a piece of land with Dawn followed by a Monferno. This means it either (1) Amity Square has been expanded with water / mountains and lets more Pokemon in or (2) Pokemon can follow a trainer in a certain place.
    • The Sinnoh PokeDex will be expanding to 210, with the introduction of 59 new Pokemon.

    What are your opinions on the new sprites? Of course, we've only seen about 20, but it seems like they are using the exact same color palette, (which bothers me, since the D/P colours really doesn't fit the 251 first Pkmn) but are moving the sprites around a bit.
    The sprite that I am most happy about so far is the Raichu sprite, they made him fat again <3! And also, the Gyarados sprite looks more "rawr I'm gonna bite you" than the original D/P Gyara sprite.
    A bit of a trend with these new Platinum sprites that I've noticed is that they tend to hold more of an aggressive stance rather than just standing around D/P style. Check the Infernape/Garchomp/Gyarados sprites for examples. I would have been happier with a complete remake of the sprites though, with new colors more fitting for each Pokémon, but hey, with the DS's capabilities, we'll probably see those in the next Pokémon game after Platinum.

    sorry, but nobody know something about their names. Someone said they are new forms of rotom, someone said that they are just forms of pokemon in the Thorn-World, someone said that they are fakes, but nobody know whats right or whats wrong.

    Im not sure where I read this might have been wikipedia but they said they showed shadows of the new pokemon. And yeah noone knows who they will be we just have to wait and see.

    yeah, this has been talked about for a long time now. the link below me answers it in a complete statement. here are the exact words if you cant find them:

    Now, am I correct in saying the release date for Platinum in the US has been confirmed for April of next year?

    On those silouhettes, I, personally, have an idea that maybe they are forms of Rotom. They look kind of like appliances, and Rotom can possess electronics, so.... anyone with me on this? o.o

    *SIGHT* We have been discuccing on that like forever... xDD You should look that other Platinum speculation discussiong that were removed from here away as there are many other useful and readful thoughts as most of us think that they truly are both Rotom´s and Castform´s new forms... :D

    I think one of them at least is rotom so yes I am at least also is this really major information shouldn't this be in the other thread???

    Well I just checked serebii and it has been confirmed that fantina will appear in the anime so she won't be replaced. Pokebeach also has something that kind of confirms (although not exactly) that the silhouttes are new forms.

    Okay guys I'm back, anyway on topic:
    - Fantina, Gardenia, Volkner and Flint will NOT be replace(mostly high possibility).

    If the dex is getting revamped then instead of 150 pokemon in the sinnoh dex they'll probably put 200 or so. like hoen
