ok so i kinda have been using ampheros for lots of my examples but it really goes well with my explanations.

So here's my question: have you thought that some pokemon's evolutions just don't fit.
    e.g
    - Mareep and flaafy looks like sheep, Ampharos doen't ( though I still think that ampharos

    - Geodude floats, Gravaler doesn't (although they look kinda the same it only took me until a few weeks ago that geodude evolved into graveller) < some1 told me(age 7) that geodude evolved into onix>

    Magikarp → Gyarados
    Remoraid → Octillery
    Freebas → Milotic
    Clamperl → Huntail/Gorebyss

Now those are some weird evolutions.
    It's like Tyrannosaurus Rex → Chicken. :D

Geodude does not float. The only time it appears to be floating is in the video game spriting. In the anime shows, Geodude is always on the ground unless he's jumping. He moves himself with his arms, but in no way does it float.

Ampharos can look like a sheep with a stretch of imagination. But it's fluffy coat was the most unique part of a sheep, and Ampharos doesn't have it.

I also remember being told that Geodude evolved into Onix.

This is a really hard question. I would have to say Rotom.

I know you change his form as opposed to evolving him but I mean, how did a raindrop turn into a washing machine and a toaster?

Actually Raikazu, Geodude does float in the anime. Watch some of the earlier episodes and you'll see. More specifically is the episode where they unearth those extinct Pokemon and Aerodactyl kidnaps Ash.

Actually, he did float in the first episode he appeared in.

    Any ways,

A worm evolving into a beautiful butterfly, where do the creators get these ideas?

P.S. An Ampharos is a sheep that is fully sheered.

Yeah, I thought he floated as well. Anyway, just played the ep and I saw a floating geodude. Wanted to confirm before I posted :)

Caterpie-M-B is fine :O Caterpillar, Coccoon, Butterfly :D

A weird one would be Poliwhirl - Politoed. I mean aside from the prefix "poli" and being a water type they are completly diffrent O.o

Medium sized blue thing - Big Blue thing not to little green thing :/

How 'bout Carvanha into Sharpedo? From a piranha to a shark? >_>

Also, Dragonair to Dragonite? Extremely different in any aspects.

About Geodude, maybe it's magnetic polarization that floats it. Maybe Geodude's core has suffiecient magnetites that opposes the earth's nearest poles. That's why it "floats".
Try it with 2 magnets. Try hard to attach both identical poles. Difficult isn't it?

Yup. It would be Trapinch & Vibrava. I mean, a large mouth Pokemon that bites hell turn into a bug like dragon!?!?! Come on!

    It's an Ant-lion.

They start as sand-pit dwelling bugs with large Jaws, then when they become adults they look quite similar to Dragonflies. So no, it's not a weird evolution. They're even part of the Insect Egg-group.

You should be glad that there are 'weird' evolutions, you wouldn't want pokemon evolving into a very similar form now would you? That would be boring.
