    Doomsday on 2012?
    The Main Info:
The 2012 doomsday prediction is a present-day cultural meme proposing that cataclysmic and apocalyptic events will occur in the year 2012. This idea has been disseminated by numerous books, internet sites and by TV documentaries. The forecast is based primarily on what is claimed to be the end-date of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, which is presented as lasting 5,125 years and as terminating on December 21 or 23, 2012, along with interpretations of assorted legends, scriptures, numerological constructions and prophecies.
A New Age interpretation of this transition posits that, during this time, the planet and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation rather than an armageddon, and that 2012 may mark the beginning of a newer sociopolitical age for the global community.

The Reason Why i posted this one:
When i was walking in the bridge. I saw something written in the wall. It was Doomsday 2012. And im just convinced to look at the internet and i found this. So i decided to let you guys know.

I can't even be bothered to count all the times a thread has been made about 2012. Are we so scared of death that we can only think of the end of the world? This is bloody stupid.

The world is going to end - then what's the point of doing anything now? I'm going for my provisional license in 10 days, why should I bother if in a few years everything is going to be gone? Why bother establishing relationships with people, or continuing to be a lawful member of society?

Start of a positive transformation? Why not believe in the ability and hard work of humanity rather than this new age hooey that places our fate in the hands of others. Be a man (figuratively speaking), and create positive change yourself.

And hell, if you're going to link to information on it, don't link to something that contains critical responses to the topic pointing out that it's utter crap.

No one can predict the future anyway.

Wasn't there a Doomsday that was supposed to happen several years ago because another ancient civilization's calender ended in that year? Wasn't there supposed to be a Doomsday as the clock turned to 2000 (and later, 2001 for the same reason, just made technical)? Wasn't there supposed to be a Doomsday on June 6, 2006? If there is going to be a Doomsday, it will either be when we least expect it and/or when the sun explodes.

Gosh, all this talk of Doomsday makes me want to go play Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Or Final Fantasy IX.

I say whatever I doubt it but hey you never know. A more logical theory was given to us by our science professor that the world will not end but it will end how we know it. On that day or around that date the planets will allign and the fact that they will align perfectly together will change the gravitational force of the planet and we will have to get used to it. SO its not the end of the planet just how we came to know it.

Stop making such a big deal over it. People are scared that something's going to happen every day. There are probably more than 50 different Doomsday '12 predictions. This makes it an obvious hoax, and a pointless worry over nothing. For example, look back at Y2K. Did anything happen? Nope.

Then. Who cares? If you wanna read it then read it. If you don't want then don't. It's simple.

There are so many "the world is going to end!" prediction that I don't even listen to them any more. No one can predict the future. The world will end when the sun dies out or something in our solar system comes out of place resulting in the ultimate end of the human race. Until then, I'm not going to believe the utter crap some people type or even say.

Finally someone I can agree with! I could not agree more with your statement that mankind should believe in their own ability.

And it's going to happen sometime, who really cares when...

This is all supersticious rubbish to me. I don't think doomsday will come for a very long time yet.

Triple post by Rukario is how I think it will end. XD
Seriously though I go with either it ends like the planet will go shaboom kaboom or just will end how we know it.

I think the world will end when the Sun dies out and we have no Sunlight to live. Or when Rukario posts three times consecutivley in one thread.

I find it funny how the only thing you're doing is going on and on about an article in every post you made in reply to your original thread. It's not something to go "OMG" over. It's just an article made by various people around the world looking to inform people over something that's completely far fetched in the logical mind.

Clearly I don't believe in this whole "The world's going to end because the Mayans didn't make a year for their calender past 2012" or whatever it is. I think that's basically one of the dumbest conclusions someone could come up with. I honestly don't think that humans living thousands of years ago would predict when the world is going to end. And I really don't see why they would continue to make a calendar for years where they won't even be around to see the light of day.

    It's a bunch of nonsense.

I mean, people look at them as if they were gods and if they knew everything that's going to happen when it's going to happen before it actually happening. Honestly, where do people come up with this?

I talked to one of my friends a few months ago about this and he went on and on at how most of their predictions were accurate. Now, I don't know much about the Mayan culture past what I learned in History class four years ago. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but they weren't gods. Sure, they had their own mythology and sense of Gods, but they themselves weren't. If they were, they'd still be around. They weren't planning the end of time when they were creating the structure of the calendar.

This whole controversy makes me lol. I can't wait to see how many people will be running around screaming come December 2012.
