    Hmm, where to start?
First of all I like the tiles/palettes and the palette edits on Oak's door and chimney.

You used the same grass tile throughout it, but I'll let that slide if that happens to be the only one in the tileset.

You also should do something about that sign near Oak's lab, as it's sticking out, which could abrupt gameplay. Maybe put another small tree over it?

Also, you made the "box" of trees near the border. I understand border issues, but you can do better with that. Maybe add some small trees near the border in places? Not to abrupt gameplay by sticking out, but for decor like near the border. Or maybe put a big tree by the border covering up part of the left side of Oak's lab. I think that would look nice.

Excluding vegetation, I will give it a...

This map is truly wonderful. I like the ground palettes the most. It's like a true green for me. But the trees palette seems dark. But no worries it fit well in the ground palettes and in the house tiles too. Anyways. Whats that secret house or a secret base? Look at the roof it's too thin. xD. You should've make it much more bigger. But still it's a pretty good map for me. I can't say anything for now. It really looks good and perfectly mapped. 9.9/10. Perfect!

Other than that awkward waterfall in map #2, these maps area amazing. Not many people can use the FR tiles to there advantage to make a great map. 9/10.

First Map~I Love this...Theres alot going on in the map without cramming it into a clump of unnaturalness...The Mountains are Very Nicely shaped...and I Find nothing wrong with it...10/10

Second Map~Excellent Path...It Has a very nice Shape and pattern to it...The Mountains are brilliantly shaped...And...The Only thing I Dislike...is that random waterfall...it seems out of place...9.5/10

You Have Great skill...Their arn't many that can use FR Tiles to their maximum Potential...I Hope to see you become a brilliant mapper someday...:)

The maps are pretty good, but they do have some flaws in them.

Map 1: The mountains look pretty natural, the path is nice, and the grassy ledges aren't akwardly placed. However, I think you used too much small rocks in this map(I counted 30) and the top exit just seems WAY too big. I spotted quite a few tile errors though. Most are on the right, but that lone tree in the left has a tile error. The sand has a tile error, and there is an obvious one near the top right. It could also do better with more vegetation, along with more evenly distributed flowers(more randomness). Lastly, I think that the "surf ledges" are too plain. There could less of a straight line, and I'd suggest blocking off the other side and making a bridge there. Despite these, I think that this map is very good, and required a lot of work to make.
    Rating:7.9/10(not quite an 8)

Map 2: I'm not much of a fan of this map as the other one. I always liked when a small river went through a city. However, the brick road is not only too big, but it basically "goes wild" and doesn't look artificial at all. That is a big no-no. If you plan to make it go wild, then you should use more natural paths, such as the sand and dirt, not the brick road. There is also no trees whatsoever apart from the small group in the top left, and I don't like that. The mountain seems too straight at the bottom, which I hate, even in a city. There are also tile errors that I know you can fix easily(look at the mountain the gym is on), but just didn't do. These are the last 4 things. The fence is randomly placed(which I like for whatever reason, the sign is badly placed, and the house at the top left doesn't work. You need to use gatehouses for stuff like that, because they just look the best. And the flower distribution is even worse than before. Unless you show that the flowers are in a garden(use fences), then flowers in a pattern don't work. I won't even mention the funky waterfall, since it was mentioned plenty of times for you to know. It has potential to be a great map, but you misused the tiles.
    Overall:6.7/10

    Spoiler:

3-4 hours,Map made for Trebuh and his hack,i dont know if he is going to use this map,but ah,whateva.

At first look, the map doesn't look bad at all. ;3
..but then I took a second look.

There is zero playability. Every place the player can move that's not on a path (except the water, but who can make water unplayable?) is either one or two tiles wide. That only gives him/her one or two tiles to maneuver, and that's not good. Playability is your number one priority here, and in every map; I can guarantee you this won't be a good rating, just because there is none at all. :x

Now, if you were going for natural, then you've got the look down pat. Honestly, the tiles and palettes are nice, and they work very well together, which already makes it look somewhat natural. The tree placement is very.. well, for lack of a better term, integrated. A couple of different styles of trees in every block edit you can imagine. As far as flowers go, keep them more bunched together. Quite a few of them are really far spaced, and the closest ones are 3-4 tiles away from each other. I can't really comment on the grass placement since basically there's very little empty space to fill with grass, and you filled quite a bit of it. :/

Paths look alright; nothing wrong, but it doesn't look beautiful. Mountains are okay as well; they're not straight, but you have to differentiate between the layers. Sometimes, you need to make the next layer of mountain not follow the layer under it, okay?

I don't know what to comment about on the river, so I won't.

By the mountains, you have an overload of rocks. Even the Rocky Mountains have less rocks than those (yes that was a horrible pun don't shoot me). Remove some, please. Also, that house looks out of place. Nothing to do with the mapping, but just my opinion there. :3

Again, I really hope I stressed that you need playability in your map. Please incorporate that next time.

Thanx for the ratin's everyone, I was stunned to get as many positive ratin's and "10/10 AWESOME" as I got. But there was, of course, some small errors. So with the help of Løcke's fantastic review I hunted down most of the ugly stuff and did my best to block edit/remap them away. (the Waterfall was #1 on the list ^_^)... And, here they are. Hope you enjoy my Dirt paths and even randomer (<--What the...?) mountains!

In attachment... (Darn white window at "insert image")

Hmm... This is an... Interestin' map... I get the idea of it, but I can't really see where it begins, and where it ends... I must say, that it's pretty cool, I like the tiles and the style it's done, but it's hard to actually rate, since it doesn't really follow the usual way of mappin'... I find it interestin' that you use grass as if it were a path, it makes it feel a little different... But again, hard to rate. I'd like it to be a little bigger, unless It's part of something, and the fact that there's a big mountain with trees and grass in the northern edge, and no grey platform things, but in the southern part, there's only platforms, and no mountains (except for rocks), nor vegetation, that bugs me...
Well, I guess I have to rate...
If I rate it based on the laws of physics, then I would give it aound 4/10, but that wouldn't be fair, would it? I'll base it on the laws of the Disortion world in Platinum, and well, I'll give it a nice 8/10. That's the best way I can put it.
And one more thing: How is the player supposed to jump two tiles between the platforms? I can think of a tile edit ("player jumps ---- over block"), but that'll only mke him/her jump one step.

    Maps Showcase

In honor of the 4,000th post in this here Map Rating Thread (which sadly went awfully unnoticed), I've decided to post a gallery of several maps that I have been working of as of lately (as well a few that are quite old). Let's get started, shall we?

    Map Name: Underwater

    Map Game: Pokémon Fire Red

Comments: I haven't seen any underwater maps around here so I took the time to make one myself. I successfully recreated the underwater feel, complete with bubbles in Fire Red (the only thing missing is the animation for the grass/seaweed). Anyways, I realized not even halfway through that mapping underwater maps is ridiculously hard and time-consuming, especially the "abyss" areas, as I have lovingly named them. And the fact that the map is 80x80 doesn't help. If anyone else wants to give underwater mapping a shot, I'd be glad to rate a map for them (*nudges Disturbed*). Oh yeah and I made this map without a water route to serve as it's counterpart, which is noticeable here and there, so don't ask to see it. Please let me know if you spot any tile errors. It's insanely hard to see them in those dark crevasses and I eventually gave up trying. Though I'm pretty sure it's all physically plausible and whatnot (i.e. all the levels of mountains make sense). But don't hesitate to prove me wrong

    Mapshot:

    ————————————————

    Map Name: Oceanside

    Map Game: Pokémon Emerald

Comments: Here's a simple starting town. Uh yeah, that's pretty much it ^^
Oh yeah and the tile error that is west of the dive spot (the tree over the mountain) looks fine in game because the black spot appears as a sky blue spot, which blends in well with the shallow water.

    Map Name: Emeryville

    Map Game: Pokémon Fire Red

Comments: This map is a quarter of a huge city that I was working on. The city is composed of four 80x50 (or 50x80, I'm not sure) maps which are connected form a giant metropolis. I have mostly completed the north-east and north-west (this map here) sections but I don't have the other (north-eastern) map available at the moment. And yes, this all uses one tileset

    Mapshot:
    Spoiler:

Don't feel like you have to rate all of them (I know I wouldn't). Though I'd appreciate it if you took the time to choose at least one to rate. And please, if you are going to rate one, please go into detail about the individual features that you like or dislike. Constructive criticism is always appreciated ^_^

Okay wow, first off, every single one of these maps is absolutely stunning. I adore and envy your style at the same time. This is how a starting town should look. It is perfect in almost every way. The only thing I can find wrong to mark you down on is the flower placement. The lone flowers seem odd to me. Also, the mountain edge tile that goes to the upper right mountain corner tile (I doubt that made sense x_x) is the original one. I usually black edit it to be a mirror of the tile that goes to the upper left mountain corner tile. But it's really personal preference.

    9.7/10

This map is a great map, don't get me wrong here, but it seems on the empty side. I know that playability is one of the most important, if not most important, but it seems like you gave the player too much room. Another thing I dislike is the placement of flowers inside of the grassy patches. I really like what you did with the small view of sea/ocean. It really adds character in the map. Instead of a boring route through a forested area, the route is set on a peninsula and it gives it a much more original feel.

    9.3/10

This is an amazing city. Even if it is only a quarter of it. The buildings are wonderful, and I like their placement. I can't even find anything bad to say about this map. My best shot would be that the water is square but it doesn't matter. Because it looks good anyways.

    9.8/10

These all put my mapping to shame.
