Rumor From Poke`Beach!
So, "Satoshi Tajiri is not really putting his mind into the monsters anymore". However, there is another part of why the monsters look different. The "Pokemon Design" of D/P/Pt was held by thirteen people. Ten of these people did not work on the first generation's Pokemon; "Shigeki Morimoto (he's the guy who put Mew into the game) also stopped doing monster design during D/P/Pt". What does this mean? The people coming up with the Pokemon ideas are, mostly, different people each generation. R/S hired a ton of people, and that's why the third generation's style was so different. Black and White has also hired more people.
Thus, the main reason why the "Black and White Pokemon look weird" is because the design team has new people on it. Also, "Satoshi Tajiri hasn't worked on the games for a looooong time (since the Gold and Silver days)", thus the reason why Gen III and Gen IV looked so different from Gen I and Gen II. And now Gen V could look very different as well.

Those are the rumors from Poke`Beach. Do you really think this is gonna be the hint of the end of Pokemon? or...? Well I'm not giving up on Pokemon.

All good things must come to an end someday....

My point is to ask other member if the Pokemon end in 5th gen or not buddy. I'm not asking if Pokemon will end or not and I know, Everything will come to an end including Pokemon...But, End doesn't mean forever. There's always a New things to be born.

I don't think it will end any time soon, Pokemon seems like one of these things that could go on for a long time

It's going to go on as long as Nintendo can make money off it, really.

(A part of me KIND OF wants it to end at 5th gen so the elitists will stop whining, but... *shrug*)

No, you're life and mine will end first for sure, Pokémon will remain for at least one more century.
Even if the drawing team or whatever keeps changing, what does it matters? I bet you'll always be curious to know how are the next generations.

I always thought that Pokemon would have 7 regions, like we have 7 continents.

They've never really been consistent in their artwork, that's the only think that persistently annoys me.

Anyway, as long as hoardes of people rush to buy the games they will continue to make them. Pokémon is still incredibly profitable and very easy to adapt to the market, I'd be highly surprised if they stopped producing new games.

Personally, I fell that pokemon should not contnue any further than the 5th gen. I don't really see anymore innovations they can add to the game or creativeness to the anime any further then 5th gen. But who knows pokemon is a good series and I'm sure Nintendo is going to milk the hell out of the series.

With the fandom as big as it is? Not a chance. Pokémon is a Cash Cow Franchise (WARNING: That links to TV Tropes), so they're not gonna give it up. More games = more money.

If anything, the style of the games will just shift radically.

Agreed with what most people are saying; Pokemon games will continue until people stop buying. =x

I assumed that the designers of each region would be a little different, since the Pokemon are definitely different. I'm actually ok with this; more designers means more variation, a different spin on the Pokemon.

I think that so long as nintendo can keep draining money out of pokemon they will keep making the games. it's all about the money.

Exactly what I think. Think about it, Pokemon has earned the creator and many others a lot of money. As long as people keep buying games and merchandise Pokemon will not end, why would they suddenly stop Pokemon, if it earns bunches of people money everyday. From what I see with little kids and other people getting into Pokemon I don't see Pokemon ending any time soon.

Seems a lot of people are just repeating "Pokemon will keep going it's a cash cow franchise."

And while that's true, I'd like to add a bit more to the conversation.

Something a user on another forum I go to, Erik the Appreciator, pointed out that not only are there still many RL species that have yet to be turned into Pokemon, but also that they have already used multiple species more than once. Think of all the dog and cat pokemon. It's kind of like how there's different breeds of cats and dogs, but they're all the same species (although in Pokemon they are different species but that's beside the point). There are several different caterpillar mons. There are Seel, and then two gens later, spheal. Both of them are seals, but they feel unique. Thus, the games have a HUGE potential to keep going and adding more monsters.

Next, let's look at the comment made about seven Pokemon regions for seven continents. *cough*regionsnotcontinents*cough*

No, seriously, all of the MAIN SERIES regions have been based on parts of Japan. They haven't even used all of Japan, boys and girls, much less an entire continent. Another reason it can keep going.

For those of you who say there's not much more they can add in the way of gameplay enhancements and innovations, you are wrong. They keep adding more, and there's a lot more yet they can still do. And knowing Nintendo, they probably have a lot of ideas I haven't thought of.

The series itself is highly adaptable. Look at Colosseum, for instance, or the Ranger or Mystery Dungeon series. It has the ability to change with the times.

TL;DR: Pokemon seems to have been specifically designed to endure.

I have a horrible, sad, gut feeling that Black and White will be the last. I don't know exactly why but it just seems like the end for the Pokemon franchise. The Pokemon and games just don't have that feeling that they did. The last good Pokemon games that seemed like they were thought out and the producers had passion for it was Hoenn. D/P/P didn't have the feeling the first three did. They just seemed forced and only made for the money. And I'm sure everyone agrees with me the anime died after the first season.

So... I dunno what to say. I don't want it to die but it's almost time for it to end. Oh well, if it does end, it certainly made its mark in culture. :D
