When Black/White comes out in the US, I'm not getting it. Here's why: I never play my Diamond version anymore. The last time I played it was in March 2009, which was the last few weeks before Platinum came out. Pokemon Diamond was a waste of money. Eventually, Black/White will have a third version that completely blows it out of the water.

And not only that, but Black/White's 3rd version will probably have more differences than Platinum did, since each Generation the amount of content that gets changed increases.

And not only THAT, but the DS is at the end of it's lifespan. When Gold/Silver came out, the Gameboy was almost at the end of it's lifespan. Gold/Silver are Gameboy games, not Gameboy Color games, but they have enhancements when played on a Gameboy Color. Pokemon Crystal is a Gameboy Color game, and cannot be played at all on a Gameboy. Because of this, I have a feeling that Black/White will have 3DS enhancements similar to Gold/Silver's GBC enhancements, and that the 3rd version will be 3DS only, and cannot be played on DS, just like how Crystal is GBC only.

But besides the 3DS, my main point of why I'm not getting Black/White is because I don't want to waste my money, because to me, getting Pokemon Diamond was a waste of money. I have absolutely no use for it at all, once I got Pokemon Platinum.

EDIT: I decided that I'm not going to wait, because if I wait until the 3rd version comes out, I will probably be spoiled completely. So I'm gonna get Black or White... can't decide which one though. But I'm still definitely getting the 3rd version when it comes out.

I'm actually planning to do the reverse. That means I won't play the pokemon games that come out after White.

I'm getting B/W because it usually takes 2 years for the 3rd version to come out, I'm not waiting that long. Plus, the 3rd version may actually be on the 3DS.

I know I'm wasting money, but I think 2 years of playing B/W and the experience of a new generation, may be somewhat worth it.

And I still use my pearl, mainly for pokesav, and AR testing purposes.

Considering that I would actually be able to face people online with random battles and wifi ratings with super awesome new pokemon, it would be silly to me to not get the games. I am actually planning on getting both. I might not get the third version.

Diamond and Pearl were bad, I agree ...
    Platinum was win.

But ... this is a new generation ... so many new features, it can't be as bad as D/P ... can It ?

Let's hope not. I'm getting Pokemon Black anyways, so.
I'd get the 3rd version either way.

it would actually be boring playing the 4th gen games for another 2 years until the 3rd game comes so I will be getting Black and White. If it has anything to do with upcoming games I want I cannot wait long for them 0_o

After all this hype for BW, which arguably is even greater that DP, I doubt I'll be able to wait that long. 'sides, other than emerald, I've never gotten the third of the set. The initial pair is good enough for me.

No... Because there is no way at all to confirm that a 3rd version will come out...

Black and White look like they are becoming very different games (with the varying cities and exclusive areas).

If there is a 3rd game I expect it would be very different to both, less like replaying the same game like previous 3rd games.

So I think it is worth getting B/W when it comes out and the 3rd whenever it rears its head.

Maybe you can sit around while everyone else experiences the awesomeness that is Isshu, but I can't. It's a waste, yes, but this is how Nintendo screws us all over. It just seems kind of cheap to deprive yourself for that long for something that may or may not be worth the wait. At that point you may as well just download the ROM.

As Calder said, we can't know if there's even GONNA be an enhancement version. We have to wait until it starts its advrotizieness.

meh, im with you there. I like pokemon an dall but I'd rather wait for an enhancement then spend money now. Besides Pokemon is not the only game out there. While you're all playing pokemon on your outdated Nintendo DS's I'll be playing Ocarina of Time on my awesome 3DS, till then donkey Kong Country Returns and Kirby Epic Yarn all the way ^_^
