Btw, you never addressed my items... recommendation?
Most menu layout is out of my control. I can't really change how the items are displayed :/
...Nice sprites... awesome... They look so Missingno.-ish! Too bad you can't get a crozubat in game, though. (Crozubat: the Zubat with the 2nd pair of wings. Crobat has 2 pairs of wings, so..... ... unoriginal nickname, isn't it?)
And yep, the gender differences are almost illegible, arent they?
*Shakes head, is awakened from DAYDREAM* Say... what would be the requirement for being a writer? I have no idea what the requirements are... (they're probably on the 1st page, aren't they....:\)
basically play through the game writing down spelling erros. and fixing/writing replacements for them.
And, no gender differences aren't gonna be in the game. But there may be some differences, The only one currently in the game is the Magikarp/gyrados. The freshwater magikarp(the ones in the lakes/rivers) look normal. The saltwater variety have darker red and a shorter mostache.
@Mew_Nani:
@DarkDoom: What exactly does "System" do? Also, is there a way to edit the textbox/ text (font)?
EDIT2: Uh oh. Looks like Jynx was never part of the trio. Base stats off by 40pts, barely any moves at shared levels, two types, etc.
So you guys mind if I make it like the "trio master" (like rayquaza)?
Also, I'll be editing stats to make it consistent with the others.
EDIT3: Should the evo be offensive (Attack+Special) or Defensive (Def+ Special)?
DarkDoom, I know it shows the Special stat, but do you actually have it separated?
Systems are just the borders of all textboxes and stuff. This includes battle, menu and genral message boxes. Specialised menus use pictures instead.
theyre next to each other in the pokedex and (had) the same evolutonary structure. Tiying in the stats would be a good idea.
Special is not seperated, something thats outta my control sadly.
EDIT: Actually, I do use special attack and special defence.
SP. atk determines how much PP the pokémon has.
SP. def determines the Special stat.
...Were you talking to me, or were you talking to DarkDoom3000 conscerning the Jynx evo? If you were talking to me, I have a G/S/C style sprite ready, both the front and the back. I still need to work on the name though... ... ... maybe... ... ... (darn, this is hard...)
In either case, the tiles look amazing! You sure are good at that. :D
It's pretty good! Could use a bit of touching up. It's a little bit to "dotty"
don't be afraid to make bits solid white or solid black, plain flat colours are all good too.
Great game so far, I've really enjoyed it! :D I'm a bit stuck though: I just got my first badge, went through the cave to the north of town, got sent out the east exit, and...now I don't know where to go, the route is a dead end to cracked rocks and stuff.
EDIT2: Finally figured it out. Some kind of indication that I'm supposed to bug that ONE PARTICULAR fuzzy block would be nice.
yeah, sorry bout that. Initally, the forest was normal looking, except for that one glitch peice, but later I added in more random tiles, but didn't realise it made that one peice blend with the background.
It's fixed now, The main character automatically acknowledges that it's a weird block peice.
EDIT2: This might sound crazy, but what chipset do caves use? The cave chipset doesnt change anything :(
Resta Cave uses the
cave chipset (for puddle of water), the rest uses
genral 1
Hi I haz a question. How did you make this game? As in like which program did you use and how exactly did you put the maps together and stuff. Im just curious because I was inspired by this game to make my own game. Basicly cause this game doesnt require an emulator and thats just why i donnt wanna use those things are tricky stuff. You can pm it to me if you arent comfortable saying it in public :)
sread123 got some stuff right.
I do use RPGmaker 2003. It's one in the range of RPGmaker programs.
It allows you to easily make an RPG game.
You don't need to know any scripting, just drag and drop interface.
RPGmaker XP is the newer version, it's more flexable, but requires scripting to really take advantage of it.
Theres starter kits out there that will give you a pokemon framework for the game, including battle system, items, pokemon, and much more.
I used RPG2003 for this project, because my computer cannot display the resolution needed to run RMXP. When I bought my laptop, (which could run RMXP) I was already quite deep in the project, restarting on XP was a no-go. Plus I had years of RM2k3 experience.
I suggest using RPGmaker XP. and starter kit if you want to make a pokemon game.
