  • Wondercards are actually the easiest to RNG. After calibration, you fly to a Pokemon Center that has no wandering NPCs, save, and do your frame advancements. Don't forget the in-between steps!

  • SPOILER!

TwilightBlade allowed me to revamp her guide :D

There will be a breeding section added and I'll link my wondercard abuse guide I wrote for nuggetbridge.com and I'll link reliable source of videoguides for those who prefer to see the whole process rather than finding their own way. :)

If nothing urgent happens, I should get that done by Monday! Stay tuned B)

edit: oh yeah, forgot to mention: it'll be adjusted for BW2

Ok not sure if this is a really stupid mistake or something, but this is really starting to annoy me.

I've just started to rng, trying to get a perfect shiny event palkia first before I try with out encounters. I've done all my calibration and i'm at the step where I generate a seed in the Time Finder window. After I get one I left click 'copy to clipboard' on the highlighted part, then I go to paste it into the RNG Reporter window, yet when I left click I don't get a drop-down window come up. Is there something i'm doing really wrong or is RNG reporter not behaving the way it should?

    Thanks

Under Method did you change it to Wondercard (5th Gen)? And are you doing the Palkia on BW or B2W2? Also, screen shots will help too if you can do those. :)

Hi All. I have missed you all, but took a break from other things to work on a new RNG project. Here I present my first Dream Radar abuse! Can not wait to find time to do some more of these:

    Naughty - Telepathy - 26/30/30/26/26/30 - Untrained
    Hidden Power -- Fighting / 70
Psywave - Defense Curl - Lucky Chant - Yawn

(Did not worry about nature on this one)

***NOTE: I edited my post to add more so as not to Double Post, additions are below:

I have a second Dream Radar abuse under my belt now, but this time I wanted to fine a seed to aim for a specific nature. I was working on a Riolu, and had an additional difficult to the fact I was aiming for a nature. Riolu was also NOT the slot #1 Pokemon, but the one in slot #3. I aimed for a Pokemon with a spread I wanted on about frame 50 to compensate for this, as I new my Riolu would be on frame 34 to start with, and I wanted to give myself a few chances to use the key link's spinner to verify my seed. According to my understand of the calculations, after my advances I should have landed on a Jolly nature. I did hit the spread I was aiming for, but landed on Impish for a nature. I really do not MIND the Impish Riolu, but I do not want to make this same mistake when I head out for my Kami Trio, or my Gen IV Legendaries. So I am trying to figure out what I may have done wrong while practicing.

It's not letting me hit Export BBCode for some reason, but here is the Legality Analysis of Riolu:
    https://www.pokecheck.org/?screenshot=6357096&la

Also, does anyone know how gender is determined in the Dream Radar?

That's good to hear that you're enjoying yourself. :) Drillbur would be a cave spot RNG and I don't know of any guides for that specifically since it's basically wild capture but a little different than normal.

  • thanks for the replay :)
the problem is that drilbur is appearing in dust clouds and I don't think that normal sweet scent would work right?
also when rnging wild pokes can you tell what moves it's gonna have?
    thanks in advance

Sweet scent wouldn't work. You'll have to take steps and make sure to move exactly the same way each time and then compensate for the frames advanced to find what the actual starting frame is and then do your chatters before walking into the dust cloud. As for what moves the wild Pokemon will know, you can use a Pokedex to get an idea for what moves they learn at what level. Here's a link to Drillbur's Pokedex page if you need it.

I have a few others including shiny flawless Charizard, but I either stuffed the EVs by a few points or forgot to breed some egg moves.
Little things that are a little bit embarrassing.
I also lent my prize Lucario to my friend so he could sweep the E4 before I saved it on Pokecheck. :(

I'm new to this forum and joined partially to get tips on breeding and I came across this thread.

Through breeding I had planned to raise near perfect pokemon with perfect IVs and natures, which initially didn't seem too difficult, just time consuming. After skimming through the guide for RNG abuse it doesn't seem like it'd be too difficult once one has the hang of it, and it seems less time consuming.

I guess my real question is, what is the general opinion RNG abuse, and is it worth it to learn if I had planned on breeding perfect pokemon and battling with them?

    First off, welcome.

As for your question; It's kind of 50/50 with opinions on RNG, there's a whole thread on RNG abuse vs Shiny Hunting check that out for the opinions. I for one am so glad I learnt this, I don't feel I'm cheating because really I'm just leveraging the game to my advantage.

If you are absolutely going to raise flawless Pokemon one way or another, this (for Gen IV and V at least) will save you so much time. It took me maybe a day to get my head around how everything worked and then after a few attempts it becomes easier and easier to replicate good results.
The most fun thing is not telling your friends, entering battles with them, and unexpectedly pulling out your flawless shinies. The power! Mwahah!

Does the RNG guide at the beginning of this post not apply to X/Y? I mean granted I skimmed the post, but I didn't see anything that said it doesn't work for X/Y yet.

There is no RNG guide for X/Y like before, but there is a trick to see the pattern of inheritance in the first egg.

    Awesome thanks for sharing that.

Sorry if this isn't necessarily the correct thread for this and feel free to move it if it isn't, but is it likely a full on RNG guide like the one in this thread will be developed in the future for XY, or does the fact that the 3DS is not hackable yet hinder people from finding the algorithm to predict the patterns for eggs, shinnies, perfect IVs?
